Seo Woo returns in new weekend drama

Seo Woo returns to dramaland, seven months since her last role in the melodrama Flames of Ambition (and Cinderella’s Sister before that). She’ll be starring in the weekend drama If Tomorrow Comes, this time as a good girl — an actual good girl, not the kind that’s harboring a vengeance demon on the inside, like her other roles of late.
I’m a bit surprised she’s going back to weekend dramas because she’s a bit too high-profile for a random weekender, so perhaps this is another Flames-style deal, rather than the usual family-friendly weekend fare. The story centers around the love and strife between a mother and daughter. Seo Woo plays a good-natured college student who believes that taking care of her parents is the road to happiness. Go Doo-shim (Pictured below, posing fiercely alongside Uhm Tae-woong doing what, I don’t know. But it’s awesome.) plays the mom who cherishes her daughter. Well it all sounds on the up-and-up, but I’m guessing there’s more to this mother-daughter pair than the picture postcard version is telling. Otherwise, where’s the drama?
But the best news of all is that HOTBAR is in it! Though there’s very little character information on him, Ha Suk-jin (below) is set to be the drama’s hero. (Yay!) Just PLEASE, don’t make him the brother this time. He’s too hot to be anyone’s brother. I’m really excited that he’s moving up to bigger starring roles because he seems like a great steady rom-com lead in the making.
PD Jang Yong-woo (I’m Happy, Four-Leaf Clover, Hotelier) and writer Kim Jung-soo (Dandelion Family, I’m Happy) are at the helm, so it might be a happy-go-lucky weekend family drama after all. I guess we’ll just have to see for ourselves. The drama begins production on the 22nd, now that casting has been finalized. Talk about cutting it close, people.
If Tomorrow Comes will follow My Love By My Side on SBS and premiere late October.

Lol, what exactly is going on in the last picture?
Anyway, I'm kinda suprised Seo Woo is doing a plain old weekend/family thing, because it doesn't exactly gel with her latest works. I mean, compare it to Paju, Housemaid, or Flames of Ambition.
Then again, maybe she's going for a change of pace. I'll check this one out just for her.

I think Uhm Tae Woong is in a Bruce Lee inspired tracksuit and GDS is seducing him after seeing him win a martial arts competition and the prize money. I say this with no knowledge of this scene whatsoever.
Ha Suk Jin looks like Lee Hong Ki in that picture. (Funny I say that because I just read a Love Rain post).

Ha Suk-jin!! Loved, loved him in Once Upon a Time in Saengchori.
And please give in an accent. His accent was so cute in Dr. Kkang (yes, I saw Dr. Kkang).
Seo Woo is so pretty. I've only seen her on Tamra the Island and her character annoyed me a little. Team Park Kyu Fighting!!!

Ha Suk-jin was one of the best parts of Hello! Miss. (Anybody remember him there? He was totes adorable. And lispy. I love lispy K-actors haha.)
I'm glad he's moving up in the world.. I was starting to wonder if he'd be relegated to perma-second lead.
And Seo Woo is, of course, flawless. I adore that girl. ♥

Yes! I remember him from Hello, Miss! He was cute in that. He was also fun to watch as the lead opposite Eugene in the movie, Unstoppable Marriage which I found to be a hoot to watch.

Ha Suk Jin was definitely hot in Once Upon a time in Saengchori. There were an unusually large number of kisses in that drama. :) Glad to see someone on db who watched that drama.

That's why I felt like I have seen him somewhere in drama as a Main lead. But then Jb and Gf did't recognize him or said anything about Once Upon A Time in Saengchori and I'm not watching Can't Lose yet so I thought I was mistaken.
Yes, he's hot in OUAiS, too hot to be another character whose name just having been known after more than 4 (?) episode. :p

Uhh - that last photo with Tae-woong is really kind of squickish, isn't it? Like, uncomfortably squickish.
Maybe it's because we know that his real personality is all dog-feet and dork - it's like he's grabbing onto his grandma, and not in a good way...
This requires more thought.....

Oh yay! This girl has some great acting chops. She knocks out every role so but she's more of a "good girl" actress so I'm glad this drama is geared towards that.

Beojin and Park Kyu were so adorable in Tamra the Island. I was so frustrated with her character in Flames of Ambition so I am glad that she gets to play a nice, just plain nice, girl again. Seo Woo fighting :)

I'm in agreement w/everybody re:Once Upon a Time in Saengchori. That was a fun little show- too bad it didn't get much notice when it was on. I was glued to the TV watching it! Ha Suk-jin was perfectly paranoid, perfectly uber-intelligent (at least for work) and perfectly inadequate around women and co-workers! Yes, pretty much perfect all around. Now I have to see him as the HOTBAR (love that moniker) and drool again. And perhaps again. I do hope that Uhm Tae-woong plays a BOY TOY!!!

Kim Jung Soo is a pretty renowned veteran writer who's known for her family dramas, so that was probably the draw for Seo Woo. I think we can expect something fuzzy and warmhearted (and Ha Seok Jin as the lead? Kim must've liked him in I'm Happy), as long as Kim Jung Soo doesn't descend into makjang like she incomprehensibly did for Dandelion Family...(Seriously. Shouldn't she have known better, as a veteran writer? Even if the ratings were crap?)

people commented earlier about how pretty she is and stuff so i was just curious - since i don't find her pretty or appealing physically i guess i'll have to watch some of her work to see if her acting chops is as great as you say :)

She did underwent the knife, yeah, and I also find her looks weird at first, but I can't help but be amazed at her acting prowess.
I actually missed her (that's why after Tamra I checked out her other works, esp. movies, hence, I kinda lie-lowed on dramas). I've seen her in Crush and Blush and Paju while I'm still waiting to finish my download of The Housemaid---she's definitely a chameleon, 'tis all I can say.
I hope to see her more in short series (and movies, too) because I'm really not into the long ones.
As for Ha Suk Jin...yay for him, he gets the lead part now!!! He's always the villain (in Hello Miss and Merchant Kim Man Deok) so it's nice to see him getting the gurl :)

I don't really like weekend dramas but I think I will give this a go. Seo Woo in a bright, good girl character? Yes, please! I love this girl! She totally have what it takes to be a great protagonist.
Ha Suk Jin is adorbs too! Love him in Can't Lose(that is whenever he does appear). I am excited to see him pair up with Seo Woo(please don't let him be brother).

Weeeee... Such an interesting pairing. I adore both leads and Go Doo-shim.
The only thing keeping me from clamouring over it is the standard weekend drama format. I am not a fan. What makes me even more wary is its particular timeslot, otherwise reserved for the ahjumma-with-frazzled-brains. The writer will inevitably keep her core audience in mind.
But no harm in giving it a shot. Especially for that cast.

YES!! Finally Ha Suk Jin in a lead role!!! (Though he was great in Saengchori). I want an Unstoppable Marriage reunion with Eugene one of these days though!
