Ripley’s Park Yoochun and Kang Hye-jung looking cute

Looks like the second lead is finally getting some more face time with the hero. These latest stills from Miss Ripley‘s upcoming Episode 4 show stars Park Yoochun and Kang Hye-jung finally connecting over a “flower date.” Looks more like flower-shopping than a date, but I’m excited to see these characters have more screentime together, as they’re a bright cheery breath of fresh air whenever the drama gets too angsty.
And there sure is a lot of angst in Ripley, though so far it’s the fun kind, (as in well-constructed, well-motivated, character-driven) as opposed to the pull-your-hair-out kind (as in illogical, circling whirlpool of disaster). Though so far these two characters have been outweighed in the chemistry department by a smoldering Kim Seung-woo and Lee Da-hae, they’re the front-runners in the cute department, that’s for sure.
I kind of can’t wait to see their puppy love take hold.
Episode 4 will be broadcast Tuesday, June 7, and Miss Ripley airs Monday-Tuesday on MBC.

LOL lets make that hot smoldering ahjusshi (but i'd gladly let all the noona fans have him in exchange for Yoochun)
even though he is like 20ish years too old for me.
Where did you hear that?
because from all accounts yoochun is the lead. but i think since all four actors are high profile i dont think that necessarily means he gets that much more screentime.
Obviously Miri doesnt seem like she'll get a happy ending but it'll be a nice fresh twist if in the end the second lead gets the guy!

Nooo TOT I kinda hate the 2nd lead girl, donno exactly why I just really don't like her... maybe the way she looks or her voice, anyways I really don't like so I would rather Miri having Yoochun's character... although maybe the poor girl ending with the rich handsome guy isn't that interesting, but stilllll....
Plus if her end with the 2nd, that means Miri has to end with the ahjusshi which I also don't like.. *pout* too bad they couldn't get a younger and prettier ahjusshi

I'm sure by the end we'd be rooting for miri (LDH is doing an awesome job) but its the story i"m talking about.
Will miri's actions be forgivable?
Will she ever have a shot at love? Will she ever truly accept yutaka/MH's love?
Miri is one damaged girl so i think we'll have to see how the story goes.
Judging from the story i think it will be a bittersweet ending -at best for Miri.
i am already fond of Heeju, she's very sweet and i think it will be quite painful to see her optimistic world view go down the drain.

Agree, I'm super annoyed by her too. I saw the actress in Flowers for My Life and remember thinking she was ok but unmemorable. In this show I flat out dislike her. Too unrealistically chirpy and smiley, plus total overacting in all scenes.
Kim Seung-woo is very old and blah to me. I saw him in Perfect Neighbor and was very unimpressed, and he looks even worse now. Sorry to his fans, but old broody guys aren't to my taste, and I think LDH looks way too young and pretty for him. Plus, pairing two depressed characters together is rather boring and seems a surefire way to building a depressing household. Similarly, combining two happy people together (per this article) is pretty sparkless and boring, not to mention Yoochun is way too good and cute for the second girl.

when the drama was announced i thought yoochun was the lead..i was beyond excited..bt as the articles abt the cast started coming in it became quite clear that he is nt the lead and i lost a big chunk of my interest..
Even considering the level of the actors its quite clear that the old ahjushi (i really dnt think he is hot sorry) is gonna be the lead..
I would love to be proven wrong bt i think i m right :(

I think all four leads have equal weight though LDH is the titular Ripley....It looks like both the men are bound to fall for Miri though

I don't really care who will be the lead because it seems like all 4 characters are related to each other in every episode so we will see a lot of them, especially the love triangle between the ahjusshi - LDH and Yoochun oppa.

I have no problem who ends with who.. I just want the drama to surprise me each episode.. It's a classical melo so it's injecting a lot of classic elements like the "i'm-getiing -used-to-orchestraic-BG-music" and the "seems-90's-picture-quality" but i'm in love with this drama and hooked not only because each of the cast are doing well with their characters but more importantly I never felt that the angst is irritating (agrees with GF).. ironically it feels refreshing.. maybe i had too much fluffy stuffs choosing to watch Rom Coms for a year.. I'll just be a little disappointed if i get to predict where the plot goes but i'll forgive them if they execute it well..

I don't think Miri will end up with anyone. If she would have a happy ending, it wouldn't involved the guys either. Since this is a melo, i'm quite sure they'll go full out and make it as tragic as possible.
I honestly can't stand heeju. Usually in a normal rom-com, she's the typical heroine. But i just see this type of character too much, it's not taking to my liking anymore.

both guys seem to like LDH alot, so unless she dies, they will probably forgive any and everything= happy ending (i mean she might end up in jail or something but she'll still get her guy)
i want LDH with micky and the ahjusshi back with his wife
mi ri seems cheerful enough without a guy, she can have the architecture contest :P

They're both so cute!!! But I think, even though Heejoo and Yoochun's character have the same personality and are similar in many ways; Yoohyun will still feel the pull of Miri. Similarities don't really spike an attraction but "mysteriousness" does.
And Miri's character is everything intriguing. This is not going to be a predictable story so I'm going to enjoy every minute of it.

You are so right GF!! theae two are the perfect balance for the angsty ahjussi and LDH I am really liking this drama eventho I'm such a rom com girl. I find myself rooting fir LDH.
I just hope that the writers will continue to make the episodes logical and interesting and of course a good ending .

this love quad will be sooooo good. i need miri to corrupt YH now. and i want her to get her karma and fall for him muahahaha.
as much as i like hee ju and yoon hyun as individual characters... i feel like they would just squeak in a cute way and be cheerfully clumsy together.
i also think KHJ is playing the typical Kdrama romcom heroine in a tongue-in-cheek-nudgenudge-winkwink manner. it's hilarious. love it.

i'm really insanely curious what happens to miri. i really don't want her to die, but i know this is a melodrama and that's always a possibility. i want her to just run away from everyone and everything and start over and do well somewhere. i know, only two episodes in, and i'm already dreaming big. oh wellll.

I don't get character like Yutaka, why do they always have such a crush on girls that are so bitchy to them? Like they probably won't even care if he gets hit by a car or something, yet he still follows her around like lovesick puppy. It's pretty pathetic. Then again, I guess the same can be said for the female characters that are into the Darcy type.

it's far more common in dramas when the females fall in love with douchebag chaebols.
this is just sort of... the reverse. but i think miri is just avoiding men like yoo hyun, because she thinks they all just want to get into her pants. i mean... being a bar girl with a scarred past. her vision of men is far from ideal.

WHAT?!?! and here i thought Yoochun and LDH is the couple in this drama.. and he is the male lead..
news reports made it like yoo chun and LDH are the lead actor and actrees in this drama...
anyways, i may watch this for them then coz i love Kang Hye Jung and when I watched the teaser of the drama I feel like they have more chemistry than the on i thought was the couple in this drama..
