Yoon Eun-hye stills from Lie To Me

Now for the heroine’s turn: Yoon Eun-hye sheds the little black minidress and heels and dresses way down for Lie To Me, where she sports some athleticwear and a messy ponytail to play her character Ah-jung. These particular stills come from a flashback to her days as a student preparing to take the civil service exam.
What (or whom) she’s running from, it’s not yet clear, but I’m willing to bet it’s not the hot rich hero with whom she becomes entangled in a marriage scandal, played by Kang Ji-hwan. (As if! If anything, she’s the one who gets them stuck together with one little, probably-unintentional lie that gets blown out of proportion.)
In the photo below that, Yoon is pictured in the arms of her other love interest, played by Sung Joon, who’s the friendly younger brother to the hero. Yeah, that’s not gonna get complicated, eh?
Then we have the last set of stills below, where we fast-forward from her student days to the present. Having passed her exam, Ah-jung now works for the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In the pictured scene, she attends an event promotion traditional Korean culture, featuring traditional food and performances by a theatrical troupe. She receives praise by the cultural ministers for having proposed the idea, making it a successful outing.
…until, that is, the wind kicks up and disturbs a wasp’s nest. Attendees are attacked by the insects and the proceedings are thrown into chaos.
Yoon said of her role, “The character of Gong Ah-jung is so much fun, and there are a lot of similarities to myself, which I like. She’s bright and bumbling, but she’s also very cute as she goes in search of true love.”
The drama premieres on May 9.

I think this role will suit her much better than the one in My Fair Lady. It's when she's playing the down-to-earth 'everywoman' type that she really connects with me - something like her roles in Goong and Coffee Prince. I'm getting exciting just looking that these pictures.

Hotaru, the one character played by Ayase Haruka that I actually liked. Too bad in real life I have a hard time deciding between Fujiki Naohito and Mukai Osamu. I would think Mukai would win, but than I would rewatch some old shows with Fujiki and I just fall all over again.

You need to watch JIN. She kicks ass as Saki, she's really corageous and brave in that drama.
And Hotaru no Hikari is one of my favorite Jdramas ever. I think it's because Hotaru is just so easy to relate to.
And Mukai Osamu is HOT. I still would've picked buchou in the end, but Mukai came reeeeeally close to winning me over.

lol, i couldn't have picked mukai, he was all right but just didn't have that x-factor for me. fujiki on the other hand, no contest! sigh, if only he wasn't married though! wonder if his twin is taken too?
@ Ani: btw, since you brought up JIN, do i need to watch season 1 or can i jump straight into season 2?

JIN is one of the most recommended j-doramas that I know to date. You'd be surprised how many people have told me to watch it. The problem is that as much as I love j-doramas, I kind of have trouble when it comes to Jidaigeki ("period dramas"). If it's period related from Japan, than I would rather go the movies route. Although, I made the exception with Utahime, but that's because Nagase Tomoya is too much of a hotty to pass up, even if he does push comedy a little bit towards the overly cartoony side. But with JIN 2 coming out soon, I should hurry up and watch JIN.
Maybe I could learn to like Ayase than because her overly blank acting in MR. BRAIN and the constant blank stares in Tatta Hitotsu no Koi that made her character seem even more one dimensional kind of killed any possible appreciation I could have for her (save for Hotaru).

@snow: I would pick Mukai if we're talking Atashinchi no Danshi. He was quite the cutey in that one. Fujiki would win of course because he's the veteran/senior actor here. Mukai needs to hurry up and build up his resume ASAP. Either way, I love both of them for their separate works. ^_~

Snow, I say watch it. Season one is great, and JIN 2 started last sunday, so it's not even subbed yet. It's truly a wondeful jdrama, one of the best that have aired lately.

I love buchou and I love Mukai...so I didn't mind who won inthe end...but buchou probably deserves more..Lol. Love Hotaru no Hikari...one of my favourite jdoramas ever...

The frying pan brought images of Tangled (you know, the Disney Rapunzel cartoon) to mind. The crazy things you can do with a frying pan: hit handsome guy that climbed into your tower window, use it for sword fighting, cooking. Oh the crazy that can ensue from using a single household appliance. In the hands of Yoon Eun-hye? Hysterics to whole new heights? I hope so. XD

The original term used for a civil servant examination candidate or public examination candidate here was go-si (shi)-sang. The definition is closer to 'a student taking a high school equivalency test'. But the term now includes such exams as bar (law) exams, civil servant exams, and etc. and is used more to describe government position examinations.
The big deal about YEH dressed as a candidate is...
There are many government employee candidates in Korea..
Most of these people live under poor conditions during their preparation for the exam..
There are even Go-shi-sang villages, where rents are very cheap..
While conditions are poor, most candidates live under these conditions because the exams are very difficult to pass. It may take years to pass a certain exam and they won't have income until they pass.
These candidates dress poorly as well..usually wearing sweatpants, training suits, and slippers..
The three stripe slippers YEH wore in the fan photo are the most popular and cheap slippers in Korea..
And they are affectionately called by the name of 'Samdidas'. Sam (Sahm) here means number 3. 'Didas' seem to have come from the shoe brand, 'Addidas', because of its 3 stripes.
It's not everyday that one gets to see a top star actress wearing such things, and that is why people seem to really like these pictures^^

LOVE HER!!!!!!!!! Ever since she showed true earnest and acting skill in Coffee Prince, I've been on her bandwagon...even if her acting in My Fair Lady was a complete disaster (but, of course, that failure is attributed to the terrible script/director as well)

I don't think that you should worry about their age difference...It's true that Kang Ji Hwan is 7 years older than her, but then again, if you look at the age difference between YEH and Yoon Sang Hyun (MFL) which was 11 years, they still looked quite compatible...
Yoon Eun Hye has always been able to create good chemistry with her male co-star up until now (KJH too I think), and if you look at KJH-YEH's interaction at the Baeksang awards, you have nothing to worry about ;)

Yay! I've been looking forward to a new YEH drama for a while. She's one of my favorite actresses.

Please have lots of anticipation for Gong Ah Jung's diverse looks."
As for me, Yoon Eun Hye always put so much passion into everything she does. She doesn't care how she looks as long as she can give justice to the character she portrays. I remember on one of her interview she said that she goes into acting not because she want to be look pretty, something like that. So I believe with her total dedication and her chemistry with KJH, LTM will be awesome :)
