Remember how I was wondering whether Gong Hyo-jin‘s star-with-a-bad-image character for Best Love had earned her bad rap by being a bitch, or if she was merely misunderstood?
I think I’m going with bitch:
(Requisite caveat and whatnot: Purely speculation on my part. Conclusions have been jumped to, books judged by covers, prejudices perpetrated on the basis of mere images. Hey, it’s a K-drama. Image is everything. Whatchoo gonna do?)
Granted, Gong looks perfectly pleasant in one of the three photos, despite wearing a scarf decorated with skulls. My faulty math skills suggest that perhaps she’ll only be a bitch two-thirds of the time, then.
These stills are the first we’ve seen from the upcoming Hong sisters romantic comedy, and feature lead character Ae-jung (Gong) with her brother and manager, Ae-hwan, played by Jung Jun-ha. (With a name like Ae-jung — affection — it’s like her parents were just tempting Fate to do the contrarian thing with her personality. And as we know, Fate never met a challenge she couldn’t take on, or a human she couldn’t crush with her whims.)
(Just watch — after all this theorizing, I bet she ends up being a sweet spring rose of a character. Just my luck.)
In the pictured scene, Ae-jung arrives at a radio station to appear as a guest on a program, and in the lobby they run into top star Se-ri, played by Yoo Inna. I love that brother Ae-hwan’s conspicuously carrying Ae-jung’s makeup box — who gets made up for a radio show?
As for the title, which I still maintain is weak and generic: Apparently the “Best Love” is a shortening of the full meaning, “A Top (Best) Star’s Terrible One-sided Love,” where they dropped all the interesting words and left behind the least evocative. It also refers to the “best love” experienced by Ae-jung.
The drama follows Royal Family on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

I really like Gong's hair! It is a huge improvement from her 'do in Pasta which, I thought, detracted from her sweet face. Those bangs she had were too thick and heavy, or something.
I think this is a first.... an outfit on a leading lady that I would actually feel comfortable wearing!
Oh and Jung Jun ha! Love him!!! His hair looks rather good too... much better than the 'fro.
I am psyched for this.

I have to agree that I like Gong's hair, too, and I think it looks nice on her.
Jung Joon-ha's hair does look better! I love Jung even though people make fun of him because of his "stupid" image... I think he's endearing, but that's just me.
I really hope this drama blows my socks off! I haven't finished any of the Hong sisters' recent dramas, but my interest for htis one keeps raising. I can't wait for May for multiple reasons, this being one of them!

I thought i read somewhere the synopsis that says the scandal involved her being misunderstood of (or actually) having a night stand with Cha Seung Won's character, who at the time was a very popular actor, so she received all the blame hence a bad public image. And that the one who was paired with her on the we-got-married-themed tv show was YKS's character. Am I the only one who has read something like that about the plot of this drama?

Oh...that would be interesting.
I narrow it down to be either because of her diva attitude or I thought the negative public image might be because of something she did or said that was taken out of context or blown out of proportion by her anti's. We know how fast anti's can spin things and create scandal.

Nowadays radio shows are filmed, and usually it airs on the station's television. most of radio station owned by the broadcast station which have television station too, right? Like KBS Radio, MBC Radio, etc...

So exciteddd for this drama!!! I LOVED her in Crush and Blush. I think her character there might have some parallels with her character here. She was pretty bitter and resentful, in a harmless, hilarious, passive, stalkerish way, of course, in Crush and Blush. I think she'll be a bit whiny, sarcastic, with a streak of wickedness and jealousy, but again, mostly harmless in an endearing sort of way. I love her expression in the first pic. I'm just guessing here, but it looks like she's sort of sourly sizing up Yoo Inna and her glitzy entrance during their encounter in the lobby.

The outfit is so Gong Hyo Jin. It's strangely dressed up, but also dressed down (sneakers) and is quirky...like Hyo Jin. Also, it makes sense that she would be made up for a radio show because these days they film it and you can watch them live on the internet.
