Cha Seung-won in Best Love

Finally, it’s Cha Seung-won’s turn for the spotlight for his new drama, Best Love, the Hong sisters project that stars him as a famous actor.
He’s still sporting the facial hair (sigh), but it’s a much tidier version than the look he wore for Athena, which practically had a lifeforce of its own. Cha’s character is Dokko Jin (yes, Dokko is a Korean surname, albeit an uncommon one), a star much beloved by the public, which means he’s the polar opposite to his love interest, who’s dogged by a more negative reputation. It also means that Cha is working with a more clean-cut image than his badass one of recent years.
In the stills directly below, Jin is at the office of his agency, and goes through a speed quiz over the phone with Ae-jung, the former idol star with a bad image played by Gong Hyo-jin. It’s reportedly an important scene connecting Episodes 1 and 2, and given the Hong sisters’ love of outrageous setups and comic gags, no doubt the scene’ll end with a kicker.
The Hongs have written six hit shows in six years, so they’ve earned the audience’s trust that they’ll deliver a solid mix of laughs, parodies, and romantic chemistry between their leads. I have faith that they’ll bring the funny, just as I trust Cha and Gong to deliver winning characters; now, I just hope the writers can work on maximizing their strong supporting cast too, since they’ve got Yoo Inna (Secret Garden) and Yoon Kye-sang (Who Are You) to work with.
Best Love premieres on May 4 on MBC.

Looking / longin forward or lets better say I am eagerly awaiting 4th of May....Finally a drama to watch again.
I hope dramabeans will recap this drama.

CSW will fill my May and June with warmth and joy, and knowing those darn Hongs, buckets of tears.
I am hoping CSW plays the much beloved star with a secret, that maybe he is evil somehow. I love CSW with all my heart, but threatening, dark, looming CSW is better than just plain ol' nice any day.

What's with hair cuts lately in dramas.....It was cool the first couple of times but I don't think its for everyone.
On a happy note....this man is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!! I kinda like the NEW facial hair too... :)

I liked him a lot in city hall... I totally agree with all the others that say he should keep his facial hair coz it really suits him ... and btw did u guys saw the kissing sences in city hall man he seemed to be such a good kisser... lol totally analyzing the dude :P

I crave this man. I ABHORRED Athena! But I watched every single last episode because I knew not when I would see him again, and voila! I have the satisfaction of not only seeing him but that facial hair of his too! I love his acting style and the facial hair is his mojo! May is going to be great!

alright... I was really thinking he would change his hair style or facial hair for this character. While he's all sexy... this combo has been used so many times, I'm just going to think about him in City Hall and Athena. That look is a bad-ass look, a I'm mysterious and hot look, not so much a happy, positive, loved by public look.

I NEED to watch this! I love Gong Hyojin. She's pretty, awkward-ish, and awesome all at the same time! Never seen Cha Seungwon in action but I'll be looking forward. Is it safe to say that this drama will be (one of) the best this year? It's too early to tell, but I loved 2 of the Hong sisters project (maybe more?) so I'll be looking forward.

He is very good-looking. But as for the facial hair...puhaha. I remember in family outing someone said his facial hair was in the shape of the korean word 소 (which means cow)...and that's all I can think about now when I see his mustache. Keke.
I super excited for this though. To be honest, none of the dramas out right now are catching my interest (except for Can You Hear My Heart? because I'm so hooked on that right now....Saturday. Come hither. Now). I need something to tide me over during the hellish school weeks...so I'm waiting for this.

It will be interested to see how CSW does. He seems to be a talented actor and have a varied range (from comedy to serious drama). I'm a fan of City Hall and have not heard of CSW prior to CH. I hope that he can prove that he's as great as he was in CH. Cannot wait! :-P

CSW absolutely look more gorgeous with facial hair, personally I prefer the City Hall look, but I think the Athena look is appropriate for his badass role in that drama.
Actually for those who has seen his CF Sky Vega, it is his PERFECT look - an elegant version of Son Hyuk's look.......very SEXY.
I can NOT wait to see his drama, I started liking him after I watch him in Athena but what really makes me fall madly in LOVE with Mr. Cha is City hall which I watched at the same time as Athena.
