More scenes from police drama Crime Squad

With Crime Squad premiering next month, we have a couple new batches of stills from the procedural cop drama. Frankly, it bums me out a little that I like the cast so much, and yet find the plot so humdrum. (Kangnam police station + criminals + investigations. Eh.) Well, here’s to hoping that the story surprises with some added interest. It could happen.
Looks like Lee Jong-hyuk is now fully onboard and incorporated into the cast as well, after being a late replacement for Kim Seung-woo, who dropped out due to personal reasons. And…I think a lot of fans are happy about him, to put it mildly. I think if anyone were to match Kim Seung-woo as the cold-hearted (yet totally hot) bastard police chief, it would be him.
Cop Song Il-kook plays the other lead, as hot-headed as the chief is cold, scruffy rather than sleek. Regarding his role, Song said, “To get into the emotions, I think back to the cases I’ve seen while watching the news. I think of those real-life cases and the feelings connected to them, and use them as background in image training. I hope that viewers will be able to relate.”
The ensemble includes Sunwoo Sun (wielding her handcuffs, below) and Kim Joon (playing a cowardly officer, which I love) in the police department. Meanwhile, Song Ji-hyo appears to have gotten into some trouble in the stills below (is she behind bars or just looking through them?) and plays love interest to Song Il-kook. She’s described as a passionate reporter, and we know what happens when you get two hot-heads in (somewhat) antagonistic professions and keep running ’em into each other: get ready for sparks to fly.
The drama premieres March 7.

OK, I'm liking the cast (with the exception of Song Il-gook, sorry).
I kind of don't like these generic cope shows though and would only have watched this for Kim Seung-woo. So yeah, sadly I'm still a bit bitter. Plus, I would have loved to see another Sung Ji-roo/Kim Seung-woo pairing. Alas, it wasn't to be.
PS. Kim Joon was the only F4 member I liked, the rest annoyed me.

kim joon was my bias in bof! it was sad that he didnt get his own arc in the story..at least akira in hana yori dango had a story for his character..
but i'm rooting for kim joon in crime squad! i want to watch this for jihyo nad kim joon!!!! i hope he gets lots and lots of air time <3

totally looking forward to this drama. im an avid fan of song il gook and detective/action drama. and finally, song il gook is looking normal, i hate his character in AMCG and his fashion.

What makes this ensemble of cast hot is each of them has their own fans. This will draw a very diversified group of viewers. Hey, the reason I will watch this drama is just because of Song Il-Kook and the expected confrontation between Song and Lee Jong-Hyuk (used to be Kim Seung-Woo). As to the storyline? It will be the first Kdrama that depicts real life cases, something new and different from the typical melodrama, romantic comedy, fantasy which we have about enough.

ooh is that Lee Min Woo?!...I really liked him in Life is Beautiful last really...I am actually looking forward to this because i like the actors and I did like some of the procedurals in the last 2 yrs so i'm hoping this might also surprise me...after 49 days I'm anticipating this the most from all the dramas premiering next month

It is Lee Min-woo! I liked him in Life is Beautiful, too. He's not handsome, but I find him oddly endearing.

I'm expecting a lot from Sunwoo Sun, who played an awesome badass (though with practically zero lines) in Woochi, and I am looking forward to Song Jihyo even more because I hope they know well enough to tap into her energy. I love her real life spunk and badassery ways, even if she is known for always looking confused/blank. XD And than there's Park Sunyoung. I don't know what to expect from her because although I do look forward to seeing her performance.
But mostly I'm in it for Song Jihyo. If after two episodes we find ourselves dragging, well I guess I would have to say my adieus to the show.

Okay, with Sunwoo Sun first looking adorable in her uniform and now looking all cool and badass, I'm beginning to have such unwarranted expectations for her character! I do love crime procedural no matter what country of origin, so I'll probably check this out.

Agreed. It'll be interesting to see how this drama will do and whether it'll be an indicator of how well SBS's "Poseidon" will do come May - same elements as "Crime Squad", but set in the water.

Poseidon's casting is great overall (although I can guess which casting bothered you, gala), but the premise seems SOOOO snoozeworthy. The Shinhwa fan in me tells me to give it a chance for Eric, Kim Kang Woo is terrific, and the BTS scenes people seem legit based on their past work, but how interesting can stories about the water popo be, really?

I'm looking forward to see Kim Joon and Song Ji Hyo in this drama. Gary (from Running Man) will be jealous of Ji Hyo's love story with Song Il Gook :D.

Sunwoo Sun looks like she'll get more attention from S&M fetishers, that's hot (wait... nevermind), and Kim Joon looks really awkward so he's doing a fine job getting into character there.
I'll be watching this 'cos of Song Il-kook.
