Kim Jae-won completes his military service

Always nice to see a celeb coming back from army duty, especially when so many are leaving to begin their service. Kim Jae-won, who turns 30 next month, was discharged on January 24 and greeted by a crowd of approximately 200 fans in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. Wow, has it been two years already?

I’m a bit annoyed that his moment was overshadowed with questions of Hyun Bin’‘s impending service (really, media? You have to make this about Hyun Bin? I know he’s hot right now, but let’s have some grace, here…), but Kim answered by saying, “At first, the thought of spending two years in the army seems daunting. But looking back, I think it was a fulfilling experience. Hyun Bin will be enlisting in cold weather, so I hope he’ll stay healthy. I’ll look forward to seeing him come back even stronger after his discharge.”

Kim Jae-won debuted in the SBS sitcom Honey Honey and made his name known with dramas like Romance, My Love Patzzi, My Sister-in-Law is 19, and Hwang Jini. I’d say he’s an actor with an amiable charm who, while not at the top of the list for dramatic chops, has done pretty well in friendly rom-com fare. I look forward to seeing what he takes on next, and wonder if he’ll be among those actors (like Jang Hyuk) whose careers really blossom post-service.

Kim will be celebrating his return to civilian life with a fanmeeting planned for later in the day, and also has fanmeetings planned on February 19 and 20 in Osaka.

i've noticed that too from watching his dramas in the past that he's got lovely hands! i noticed some other K actors who's got really attractive hands & he's one of them!

I love him in 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant alongside Ha Ji Won (take that Binnie!! muahaha LOL jk I love Hyun Bin, too)

I also loved him in Wonderful Life with Eugene. They had great chemistry. (And I can't forget super adorable Shin-Bi)

He really does do well in rom-com! Can't wait to see what projects he chooses!

His pairing with Ha Ji Won was also excellent in Hwang Jin Yi (I couldn't sit through 100 Days with Mr Arrogant), but personally I think Ha Ji Won's chemistry was most amazing with So Ji Sub (even though that didn't end well. At all.)

Despite not liking the movie much (HJW's character was intolerable), ia he's perfect for rom-coms.

"100 Days with Mr. Arrogant" was simply an awful, awful film.

And sorry, but the scene where Kim Jae-won walks around a pool w/ women drooling/fainting at the sight of him in a speedo was downright laughable, since well, he had the build of a 12 year old boy.

the romantic aspect of 100 days with mr. arrogant was awful, but the comic scenes were absolutely random and full of whattheeff kind of lulz! ha ji won was was definitely the star of that film in which jae won was kind of like the supporting character

YAY! I hope to see him in something awesome soon. Although I didn't like him in Romance (granted I didn't like Romance at all), I did enjoy She is Nineteen (although, I've gotta admit Yoon Kye Sang and Jung Da Bin took that baby home), I did learn to root for him in Wonderful Life, and enjoyed his yumminess (and Kim Raewon's as well, DUH!) in My Love Patzzi - ambiguous ending and all. But 10 Days with Mr. Arrogance has got to be one of his best characters for me since he didn't do much brooding in it (sadly, it was not the best for Ha Ji-won because I was ready to strangle her character in an instant *sigh*). All in all, godspeed lad~

So KJW was on army duty this past 2 year?! Ok, I need to constantly reminding myself that if I didn't see some K-actors for a while, it doesn't mean that they have lost their celebrity status.. they might just be out there servicing the country!!

Anyway sooo glad that KJW is back! He's real cute and sweet on My Love Patzzie. I know some people said that he has lost his boyish looks and all... Can't judge yet since the office net put a block on photobucket!

WELCOME BACK KIM JAE WON! How time flies, it seems only y-day when I saw JB's article about him leaving & now he's back! Happy to hear & see these photos, one of which he was teary eyed! i forgot that he was in the army! he was so adorable in my love patzzi lol....not sure if i liked him in anything else though, 100 days with mr. arrogant was okay, same with romance (he was cute in there too)....he does have a killer smile!
