Dream High gets a special, no extension

Well, looks like that potential extension is not happening for Dream High, which was considering adding one episode to its planned 16 in order to even out the broadcasting schedule (one episode was pre-empted this week due to the Asia Cup).
Instead, the drama will produce a special episode that will air after the finale, Episode 16. The details are currently being worked out, but we can probably expect typical special-broadcast content: behind-the-scenes clips, interviews, and NGs. However, a KBS rep states that they’re aiming to set it apart from other specials by fiddling with the format, perhaps incorporating a concert element to suit the drama’s story.
It’s too bad for KBS, who’d been interested in further extensions, with Dream High pulling in 15%+ ratings and leading in its Monday-Tuesday timeslot. But producing more episodes was deemed unrealistic, hence the special.
While I’d say that having a month would have been enough time to plan another episode’s worth of content, the issue here is more about the busy schedules of its idol cast, who have had to juggle their two hats while filming the show. Many idols take time off from singer duties while shooting dramas, but they’ll have filled their schedules to pick up immediately after the drama ends. I imagine that rescheduling for all those idols (with multiple groups involved) would be a logistical nightmare.
Oh, well. I didn’t expect that the extension would go through, and I’m fine with the drama ending with 16. The special will air on March 1, and Crime Squad premieres the following week.

Hooray! I am so glad the Extension thing is not happening. I hate any drama extension. Anyone out there remember "Pasta"..... And i am yet to finished watching Pasta. I drop out QOR after the extension .

Yes to Jin Gook and Hyemi!!
Here's my logic :
Although Sam Dong shows her open admiration and "love", JG gives her what she really needs. Weather its letting her have the bike helmet so she can cry, or pulling SD back to let her stand her own ground and issue her challenge.
Sam Dong may show the typical I-have-a-crush symptoms but Jin Gook shows the I love Hyemi for her and no one else symptoms!! I'm sold!
Now... even though I am really rooting for JG and HM together I honestly think the show will pair HM and SD and that JG will be K at the end. :(

I know, i don't hate EJ as a person. I am pretty sure she's amazing as a singer.
Seeing so many pic of BH in Soompi annoy the hell out of me. God! she freak me out. Now SD could be deaf because of her.
I hate double sided people. If you are bad be bad. But BH act all innocent and end up doing anything that get's in her way. I so prefer YJ from My Princess to BH characters in DH.
So Yes if JG shows even a slightest interest, i have no idea what i will do (to my system)

These guys need some rest after the show, its a shame that they may not be able to get it. All of them stars and other staff included need a recuperating week before the next task. I really hope they get it as this is not good for their health.

I REALLY don't know why people are for Hyemi-Jingook. Can anyone fill me in on the reasons why? IMO, Jingook has so much emotional baggage, plus Hyemi has emotional baggage herself. Whereas with Samdong, she could just unload her baggage. Plus, Jingook doesn't fight for what he wants. He just drifts along. The only thing he fights against is his dad, and he's pretty weak to his dad.
I know the drama is pushing for Hyemi-Jingook. Idk why, maybe 'cause Samdong has an accent? Lol. I don't see her with either one, but I just don't like Jingook. Taecyeon's acting... not very good.

I feel you... I mean.. all the signs lead to Sam Dong getting the girl.
1- He sacraficed himself for her and didn't die (yet...? hopefully never)
2- He makes sure she knows of his feelings.
3- He called dibs on her (i know.. lame excuse but hey~ an excuse is an excuse)
4- He doesn't have this big misunderstanding about her and BaekHee.
5- And most importantly Kim SooHyun's name comes first among they list of the other actors and actresses in the show, which clearly means that he's the leading man =]
I mean, yes Jinguk seems to have a deeper connection with her. But I feel like it's because they are alike. Besides, Sam Dong gets more aggressive in the future episodes which indicates that he's not just mister "I'll protect you forever even if you don't like me". It proves that he is mister "I will win your heart" =]

SY kissed him first and kdrama rules dictate they must end up together? Oh, Ji Won's ring fits EY better and you know how JS said, "Oh it fits perfectly?" lol
Well, I believe in Dr. Champ that Uhm Tae Woong's name come before the other dude's but he didn't end up with the girl. Being the lead doesn't mean you end up with the girl. Being K is a bigger deal, IMO.
By the way, almost all your points can also point to him not getting the girl. Right now I say she could end up with both the way the drama is being written even if it does seem to slant towards a Hye Mi/Jin Guk ending since their feelings are mutual.

Jin Gook is so wooden. And BORING. Sure, Taecyeon is a hottie... but his acting is so yawn-inducing.

I can tell you why I'm shipping Hye-mi and Jin-gook. He forces her to be honest. For example with Baek-hee's pendant, JG forced her to return it because that was the right thing to do while Sam-dong was willing to let HM keep it because it made her feel good. With JG she has to be honest about her feelings about her father and their teacher and about her ambition. She isn't nearly as honest with SD. Her relationship with JG (along with everything else) is forcing her to grow up.

I can't say I'm not disappointed. While I usually dread the idea of an extension, I agree that it could have worked out really nicely here.
It doesn't hurt that I could probably watch this noise indefinitely (one of the few times where I've kinda wished a drama was 50 eps, ha). It's rare that, although I'm totally into all the crisscrossed relationships (I'm out of ways to describe my ridiculous love for the cute that is Chipmonk and Sushi), I'm even more into the friendships, rivalries, and all the awesome sing-offs/dance-offs/jam sessions/etc. My patience wears thin when relationship drama gets drug out too long, but the rest is permanently golden.

I mean, it's all in Kim Soo Hyun's (Sam-Dong's actor) answer when someone asked him who his ideal girl was in Dream High. "Suzy in the spring, Eun Jung in the summer, IU in the fall, and Taecyeon in the winter."
LOL He didn't have to add Taec in at all! Yet there he is. Bromance all the way. And it's winter right now so...Taec is his ideal?
Meh. Hye-mi and Baek-hee can have each other. Reunite and get over the past, see each other for who they are, all that jazz. Meanwhile, we can get boy action, too! Everyone's happy.

:P Just shows that he's a complex character... he's not perfect and hasn't got his ducks in a row, but he's still the one that gives her what she needs. At least so far
When she's sad = JG - lets her cry SD -tries to make her laugh ( in this I see both points but I would prefer to just let it out myself)
medallion = JG - give it back SD - let her keep it.
Challange = JG - let her talk SD- rescue her like a damsel in distress.

Err.. Jingook is not a complex character. He's pretty simple.
He's a weak guy who tries to do heroic things but fails miserably in his attempts. That guy can't even make up his damn own mind and sways on every little thing.
What I mean is this kind of guy tries to lead other person's way and make her better. HA. Good luck with that.
He's the kind who can easily be manipulated. So he's better suited with BH and his daddy who are manipulators.
And here I am only talking about Jingook character alone not even include Hyemi and Samdong.

If only Dream High is a tragic drama....
SamDong will die due to the pot incident,
Hyemi who feel guilty start realizing her true feeling towards Samdong, attempted suicide and had permanent amnesia..
JinGook can't accept this fact but can't make up his mind, whether to still be loyal to Hyemi and decided to rebound with Baekhee...
He ride his motorbike with Baekhee along seaside and was hit by a truck
Pilsook is K, she was anorexic and is not as sweet as before,
Jason was so dissapointed and left Korea back to states....
he said " Miss Sushi is not as interesting as before...."
Teacher Oh cheated Jin Man's money, but still can't pay the Mafia debt, so he was on the run... The last scene would be, Bae Yong Jun came back and took over Kirin art high school and put it on a franchise.

Though I think it's highly likely that HM is gonna end up with JG, I would prefer SD and HM. So far SD is portrayed as any second male lead in K-dramas: he is head over heels with HM, he is cute and innocent, and he would let her go if she falls in love with someone else. JG is just like any male lead: quite perfect, but still having some personal issues that block him from reaching his full potential--except for the fact that JG is freaking boring to me. He doesn't have the "it" characteristic like other male leads; as a girl I'm not attracted to him at all. It's more fun watching SD and his various facial/emotional expressions.
Other than that, I love the fact that all the kids are trying their best to fulfill their dream, their friendship, the teachers, etc. Remind me of my high school phase.
