Yoon Eun-hye considers Minidress for next film
by javabeans
Yoon Eun-hye has had her next television role lined up for a while — anticipated melodrama Love Song — but production has hit some delays after the passing of its lead actor Park Yong-ha. So there’s a possibility that we may see Yoon in a different role before that, as she is reportedly in contention for a film role, starring in a project titled My Black Minidress.
I wouldn’t get too excited about it yet, because her management has given an evasive non-answer regarding her casting status, but she appears to be in the process of thinking it over.
As you might be able to surmise from the title, the movie is a chick-lit-y type of project, though a bit more realistic than the chick-lit norm with more relatable characters. It tells a “frank and lively story about the reality of 20-something women” that is characterized by a bright sense of humor, and has been noted for its witty style, literary sensibility, and well-developed plot. If Yoon Eun-hye signs on, this would be her first foray into film in four years; her last was 2006’s Escaping from Christmas.
It’ll be produced by Tory Pictures, the same production house that put out the recent thriller Bedevilled starring Seo Young-hee. Directing is Heo In-moo of Love So Divine and Herb.
My Black Minidress is scheduled to begin shooting in early December, and is aiming for a release in the first half of 2011.
Frankly, I think an actress like Yoon is much better suited for dramas, where she can dive into a character and really inhabit a role for a while. Hopefully the stalled Love Song can get back on its feet soon and make some progress, since it would be a shame to scrap it now.

although i'm not too sure about YEH in this role (i never watched any of her movies before, so not sure how well she does in them), i do like the movie premise.
then again, chick-lit/chick-flicks are my guilty pleasure. or one of them.

This is awesome news! I really hope that she'll do that movie :)
About Love Song, her contract has already expired, but she remains loyal to the drama and isn't leaving unlike other actors who where supposed to be in it, but left one by one after the delay in finding a new male lead as it was said in an interview by Verdi Media’s CEO, Yoon Young Ha (credit: CDBLoom at YEH.net)
This is why I love this lady, she is always such a loyal, respectful and nice person. YEH fighting!

it seems like u are also Eun Hye's fan...hehe
yeah, i think she is really amazing and this is a big difference between Eun Hye and other actresses...
like her latest drama "My Fair Lady", she also stayed with them for like a year to let them find an actor to pair with her...her drama never got an A list actor just because A list actor doesnt want to burden by Eun Hye...her name is really huge in korea, honestly :)

Yoon Eun-hye, IMHO the best thing to ever come out of Korea besides "kimchee".
I think for her "fans" it does not matter what her new project may be, as long as she keeps on growing as an actress and overall artiste,
For me she is Korea's #1 Female Entertainer and my #1 Favorite Korean Actress!!!!
Yoon Eun-hye FTW!!!!!!!

hahah me too, i love Eun Hye to death...
she is truly #1 Korean entertainment...
im also a fan of her too. to be honest, if we compare her acting to other respected actress, her acting is not as good as other...but like other said she only had 4 dramas and 26 years old..other actresses need to have at least 10 dramas and movie to become well-known actress...look at her, she is the most popular actress in her age in Korean these day and the most entertainment ppl in rating of drama...thats why i adore her that much

I think you shouldn't underestimate Yoon Eun Hye's acting skills. I think she can be really good if it's the right project.(I don't think that "My Fair Lady" was one of those!) I think a small movie like this would be good for her and after this "Love Song"-disaster... a pretty good way to get back to business. It's better than waiting for a drama which may never come.

FYI it's not a small movie, on the contrary I think it's a high profile project since the investor of the movie is CJ Ent. which is the largest/biggest entertainment co. in Korea. And by looking at the PD and the premise of the movie I can say that YEH doesn't intend her movie just to be some of the box office "achiever" (knowing that thriller & action has dominated the Korean box office right now) but moreover as a media to hone her craft as she resolved to grow as an actress, and not just be a popular actress. I think we should respect her decision.
As a fans I just hope that she's doesn't stop here and always improve her craft by taking many projects and be a great actress some day.

I miss her! How come the projects she choses always have some sort of delay issues. Hopefully, it'll be worth the wait. As for her movie, I just can't wait to be able to watch it here in the US, no matter what it is. Just come back to us YEH!

yeah..seems like her project have some sort of delay issues..the reason for that is just because a big actor doesnt want to pair with Eun Hye because Eun Hye is a big name in K-entertainment, they dont want to be burdensome by her...thats why her drama never got any well-known actor..and only Eun Hye is big enough to get everyone's attention...
i believe only 2 days ago, an article reveal that Yoon Eun Hye is the most important actor in K-drama who can guarantee rating...like example, her latest drama "My Fair Lady", i know a lot of ppl said it was that good as expected but it didnt fail in rating, it could prove her power...

Hmmmm good that she is getting a new project but I hope she brushes up on her acting skills. Personally, I found goong, coffee prince really quite hard to sit through and it was partly because of her. She tends to overact and act cute - major failings of a lot of younger Korean actresses. She is fabulous in fashion spreads though!

If the movie is as well-written as you say, I wouldn't mind seeing her in it. Though after watching Asian dramas, seeing an Asian movie with subs leaves me extremely confused. I'm always thinking "hold up, there should be MORE!!! Why is the characterization so fast?"
Besides, I'm not much of a melodrama person. Goong and Coffee Prince were about as close to melodrama as I plan on getting...

her agency doesnt want to say anything just because Eun Hye doesnt want them to...Eun Hye is kinda careful and she only reveals true information whenever its confirmed...she does that just because she doesnt want her fans to get so excited and cool down so badly if her project doesnt go well...thats a really good thought...
like i know, u guys here used to bash her during My Fair Lady time, but think about it one more time, if a drama wanted to be successful, it will depend on a lot of thing, not only her acting and stuff...and she is only 26 and has done only 4 dramas that brought her to where she is now...i think thats really amazing...so please give her some more time to let her grow as a respected actress...no one can do well at once...

I am so excited for this!!!! YEH is love!!!!
'My Black Mini Dress' will be based on the novel, 'My Black Mini Dress', which was a finalist for the 5th World Literature Awards for it's honest story without any cosmetics
The movie is receiving much interest as it will be produced by Tori Pictures. Tori Pictures has produced 'Murder of Kim Bok Nam', which earned world wide praises from the movie industries and gave the main actress Seo Yong Hee, the movie industry's best leading actress award. (credit yeh.net)

Although I much prefer Korean Drama to movies (more time to develop plot and characters, an overwhelming anticipation to tune in to the next episode, more Yoon Eun Hye, more of the time!), any reason to spend time with this special lady is a good one. I'd also like to request that the "black minidress" refered to in the title be included prominently among the cast members clinging tightly to Eun Hye's fabulous body for most or all of the film's duration...:)

I loved her in Coffee Prince and Goong. It's amazing that she was almost without make up in Coffee Prince and looked like a boy. She is such a fantastic actress not to mention very beautiful. I hope that she and Minho can star in a drama someday. Just wishful thinking.
