Posters are out for Playful Kiss

The Playful Kiss posters are out! I think Jung So-min is kinda doing all the narrative work here, but I remain hopeful that the romance between her and Kim Hyun-joong will be solid and convincing.
This may be naive of me, but I’m placing an awful lot of trust in director Hwang In-roi, who was so deft at bringing lush cinematography and fantastic musical accompaniment to two other manhwa-turned-drama adaptations, Goong and Return of Iljimae. I really, really hope he can bring that same sensibility to this drama.
We don’t have long to wait — Playful Kiss premieres September 1.

9:55 is kind of misleading. They say that, but they usually begin around 10 or 10:05 because of news and commercials. Ending time is maybe 11:05 or 11:10? It just depends on the length of drama.

Thanks gallivanter for the reply! I live in Singapore, and everything here starts on the hour or half hour. They would never let a program end at 10.05 for example. Oh well. Guess the rest of the world is more flexible! No wonder dramas tend to be different length. Seems like they're always trying to maximise the airtime?? (from what I understood from watching "worlds within")

The uniform in the second poster is just so....ugly....
But KHJ's pose did remind me a little bit of Joe Cheng. Hope he could really deliver the character well. Can't wait for it to start airing!!

For some reason, after I saw the last few promo pics, I suddenly felt hopeful and excited for this drama. I liked Goong and LOVED RoI (seriously, one of my favorite dramas ever!) so I really, really hope the director can help the actors who, hopefully, will deliver a decent? good? Performance. *crosses fingers and toes*

My interest towards this drama was slowly decreasing when I first heard KHJ taking the lead.
But I've just finished the awesomeness of Return of Iljimae this week, and my admiration towards the director is very, very high right now. The reason I took too long watching RII was because I used to have doubts on how a pretty face like Il Woo could be a manly hero. But the drama has officially converted me into an Il Woo shipper. Totally. Wholeheartedly. Soulfully as well.
So I'm going to give this drama a chance too, just because I trust the director.

Their school uniform is the colour of a *COW* as Mi Ho puts it in My gf is a Gumiho. COW colour!
I wish he does well in Playful Kiss. I thought he did a mediocre acting in BOF!
I love the leading lady, I agree her smile is so cute and her braides reminds me of EY from Coffee House!

You guys.. The brown school uniforms will only stay for a few episodes 3 to 4 at most.
Besides, would you rather have them wearing green or pink or yellow?
Brown's better than yellow or green.
Of course they could have chosen blue for the uniforms instead of brown. Blue's way better than brown.
Or grey. Or navy blue. These are the colours that look best on uniforms besides black.

Actually, Ellie, maroon is just as bad as brown.
Grey's better. Like the grey tweed coats that Kim Hyun Joong wore in Boys Over Flowers. Or the silver-grey coats in Let's Go Watch Meteor Shower 2 (China's remake of BOF) Or navy blue.

Random note, but Jung So-min has wonderfully expressive hands. I've noticed that in every poster or still, her hands are posed very artfully, very delicately. So lovely. And she seems to act/emote with her entire body. That's a talent for someone so young. She's definitely carrying the narrative here, but I'll just let it go. I can think of worse things than posing with a hot piece of man-statue.

I agree! I really noticed her hands in that pic of her with her arms wrapped around KHJ! I love how she seems so in character in these photo shoots- she is primed and ready.
Hopefully the director can whip KHJ into shape. When I think back to Goong, I thought YEH was pretty bad in the beginning, but she improved quite a bit by the end. JJH was still pretty bad by the end (though opinions differ on this), but I heard he improved in later dramas. There is hope for KHJ!

In another article, they said every expression, how to put their hands, body language all is arranged so carefully and in detail and controlled by director. The director that told them to do so ^^ Hwang in roe sure so good in detail..

The director is a really gifted man, and much of this is him, but her expressiveness isn't just due to the director. I've seen the trailor now, and she's still being all expressive with her lovely hands. The child is just delicate and adorable all the way through. Too precious, my goodness.

Yeah, I only kept watching because I wanted to see what all the hype was about, but honestly, most of the acting in that drama was pretty terrible, save Goo Jun Pyo and Mama Kang...but I really hope Kim Hyun Joong redeems himself, especially since it seems like he'll be around for a while, acting-wise..... :/

I really like the posters for some reason. Just the whole almost scrap/pop up book-like way they're put together lends it an almost kitschy cute kind of feel. :D Definitely different from BOF, which I thought was kind of typical in its sparkly advertising and design.

There are some angles where she looks alot like Ariel. I just hope they both do a great job because ISWAK was really and I mean really good, joe and ariel had alot of chemistry. I can't wait to watch this. c:

In the second poster, Kim Hyun Joong looks like Joe.
I think it's the expressions and the way he puts his hands together. It is so Zhi Shu/Naoki/Seung Jo.
For JSM, her side profile really resembles Ariel's side profile.

yay!!! excited to watch this because i really love the manga and the taiwanese version.
and i have high regards to the director because i did fell in love with goong and return of iljimae so i hope my faith in him wont be wasted.
jung so-min, already love her in bad guy, so im just waiting for her to impress me more.
and kim hyun joong for the love of kdramas please dont disappoint us again! i do love you as a performer so im hoping for your improvement in the acting department.

It might very well be that Jung So-min might have to acto for the both of them.
That poster just shows KHJ doing his very best at acting, and what he has said about the character almost seems as he has not grasped the concept of the character he portrays.

I like the 1st poster, not fond of the 2nd poster.
I still am displeased and really dislike KHJ's baggy undereyes 'cos it doesn't suit the total package of Naoki. Bothers the heck out of me as I feel drained of energy just looking at him w/ those tiring eyes of his.
