Lee Tae-sung cast in Playful Kiss?

Another casting rumor in the media frenzy surrounding Playful Kiss:
Lee Tae-sung, of 9 End 2 Outs, Time Between Dog and Wolf, and Terroir, is being seriously considered for a supporting role in the upcoming MBC drama, although nothing has been finalized.
Group 8 announced that the decision isn’t final, but it seems that he’s the frontrunner. If he is confirmed, he’ll be joining Kim Hyun Joong and Jung So-min, with production to begin shortly. They’re hoping to bank on the popular manhwa’s fanbase, in the hopes of recreating the craze that was Boys Before Flowers. That would explain the hype factor before production has even begun.
[Javabeans adds: Apparently Kang Doo is another casting possibility, which just makes me groan in slow motion, “NooooOOOOOOoooo.” The actor/former musician was a wooden, miscast, walking lack of charisma in Goong S — he played the other prince — and granted, nobody in that show was good. But he was distinctly bad (disconnected, bland); the only Goong S-er who’d be appropriate in Playful Kiss is Park Shin-hye and she’s clearly out. The role he is in contention for is a high school teacher so it’s not like he’s going to be competing for the spotlight with the younger, hotter things in the cast, but I’m not a fan.]
Playful Kiss will air September 1 following Road No. 1.

I think he would be a good actor for the role of ah jin, the one played by jiro wang in the taiwan version. I saw his drama 9 ends 2 out where he plays a funny role so I think he suits the role well.

I can see him as the Ah Jin character, easily. Finally casting that makes sense (although I really have no problem with Jung So-min, either).

Yup, I can buy this Ah Jin He should be fine and probably the best bet so far.

Lee Tae Sung?!! OF COURSE! I really love him since I had seen him in that drama "9 Ends 2 Cuts" and acting like as "bad" guy in "Time Between Dog and Wolf" --- I think he's doing so awesome job in TBDW drama, it's BEST!!
I love that best TBDW drama because of Lee Jun Ki, too! ^___^

ooooh....i love him...bt isnt he a little too old to play kinusuke/ah jin....it'll be good if he's the teacher though...i've watched him 9 ends 2 outs as well as Romance Zero...he has a lot of charisma

Why do I get a feeling I'm going to be shipping the second male lead? LTS is surprisingly good especially in romcoms (from 9E2O to TBDAW to Romance Zero). I might check out the first episode just to see how he does in this.

I agree that he would make a great Ah JinKinnosuke! He's only like a year older than KHJ, so it would work. He only looks a bit old to me right now because he was playing an older character in Romance Zero.

Oh i loved him in 9E2O &Romance Zero. But what role is he up for? The Taiwan drama's "Ah Jin?" (For which I can totally see him, and rejoice) or the "F-Class's teacher" (for which I kinda don't see it at all...)? Was the teacher-role only in reference to Kang Doo, or are both of these names being thrown around for THAT role?

* LEE TAE SUNG will be Kinnosuke - good choice
* KANG DOO is class-F teacher, which i have no problem, since it's just a minor role.
* Hyo-rin will be the second female lead (I forgot the Japanese name) - she looks fit for the role.
The casts are promising enough. I'll watch this one for sure.
The darn drama hasn't filmed yet. What's up with all the negative vibes in this thread. Please give those actors/actress some respect. They're human with occupations like any of us. Don't treat them like some sort of entertainment puppets.

This is really good news for the drama. LTS is cute & also a good actor. Loved him in 9E2Os and hated him in TBDAW - that's how good an actor he is!
@27 Gina - Respect is earned & should not be taken for granted. This applies to everyone, including fans. Fans who make personal attacks on the writer do not deserve any respect, and unfortunately, their poor behaviour will only reflect on their idol.
