Han Ye-seul offered You’re My Pet
by javabeans
Han Ye-seul (Will it Snow For Christmas) has been offered the lead role opposite Jang Geun-seok in You’re My Pet, the Korean movie remake of the Japanese manga and drama. According to her management company, she is looking favorably at the role, but hasn’t made her final decision yet.
Huh. I predict lots of anguished responses, but I guess I can kind of see it see it: The role is of a statuesque, beautiful professional woman. Han is tall and can play sophisticated hauteur (see: Fantasy Couple), and she’s certainly beautiful. She has been dogged with acting criticism throughout her career, though, so I can’t say I’m thrilled, but I don’t abhor the idea. It’s just that despite Jang’s youth, he has a more charismatic presence and a lovable charm and may (and will probably) out-act her. Well, it’s better than Han Chae-young? (Actually, I think Han Chae-young fits the image better, but her acting skills are pretty erratic.)
You’re My Pet will begin shooting in June.

Han Ye Seul is an awesome actress. I think she can pull it off so I'm not terrified of her playing as Sumire. I'm only worried that the couple may look unusual. HYS suits mature/sharp jaw lined men, rofl. So, I think the combination of the two is the only upsetting thing. However, I'm willing to keep an open mind, since I admire HYS. I'm not sure why people are so against her, and they haven't even expanded on their reason for opposing. I can understand why some have mentioned WISFC, it was indeed disappointing but I think it was partly because the role itself wasn't all that outstanding and to be honest, Ji Wan wasn't much of a character to begin with. Anyway, I hope HYS accepts the role, I can't wait to see more from her.
@xphlyangel: Lmao, that clip was so funny. When they started posing whilst music was playing at the background, I just couldn't stop laughing. Okay, now I'm less worried about JGS as her partner.

she is nice but I would like to say that I dont like if the female lead is her, because it will seem odd since Jang geun suk is younger than her. Well, maybe age is not problem people would not know but it's very obvious from their face, they are not suit as a couple. I think Park shin hye is better. ;)

i think another reason is she speaks english very well which is what the role needs. I agree to some of the remarks that the role will fit Jeon Ji-hyun to a T.

all i can say is that i hope the female lead can do justice for the role and by being the leading lady of the great, multi-talented jang geun seok. it will be full of disappointments when this said female lead cant deliver, it was just sad....
