Don't test your patience with that show. Unless you're planning to just watch it for the pretty pretty eye candy that Rain was throughout the entire piece.

Sure, okay. I might give this a shot if the plot seems interesting. I don't find him an TERRIBLE actor or anything, and I've always found him somewhat adorable..

As for the potential drama comeback, since rain was born in 1982, doesn't he have to leave for military service by the end of this year? Although I know that the gov't was talking about potentially making an exemption for "hallyu" stars, I thought the general public opinion was against such an exception...

@6 lucille, korean media/public uses the word "comeback" very loosely in the entertainment industry to reference any return to work after a break of any length. Similar to how Koreans use the word "scandal."

hmm, if he is considering a comeback for the small screen - i hope it would be a project that would be far far far away from the character he played in "a love to kill".. hehehe. he was really fun to watch in full house, so maybe another romance/comedy genre.

I thought he was considering a role from his 'A LOVE TO KILL' writer...

Anyway, I'm hoping it'll be a great Kdrama with strong characters! I wouldn't mind seeing him in roles like IRIS 2 but I think Bi Rain said that he wanted to do a romantic comedy. Hmm, I just hope the actress who stars opposite of him isn't some mediocre actress.

I saw A LOVE TO KILL and it wasn't too great. The only memorable part of the Kdrama was the steaming kiss he gave Shin Min Ah, but that's practically it!

Another drama to look forward to, I like Rain as a performer, this will be my first drama of his to watch. Good luck Rain!

Rain is one of my favorite actors and I've watched every one of his dramas.
"A Love to Kill" was a bit too melodramatic and slow but it had a good sensual/woeful mood, in a good way.

I was surprised to see him in "Speed Racer" and "Ninja Assassin." He's doing it big in the US.

@lucille: if you keep in touch with the kpop world as well as the k-dramaland, you will notice that they will often use 'comeback' every time.

eg. girls' generation/snsd finished 'oh' promos and a few weeks later, 'comeback' with 'run devil run' promos. as long as there's a temporary leave of absence and singer/group comes back with another single, it will be a 'comeback'. kpop has loads of singles but few albums. :( same goes for k-dramaland.

I'm not a Rain fan (don't kill me) but I admit, he is a really good crossover-singer-actor. Though with this 'Chuno'esque name, I'd expect him to be doing lots of abs shots, just like Siwon in 'Oh My Lady'. Teehee...^^

Well, he has to promote himself since a new album is droppin' right? What better way than to get involved in a drama series? Maybe add a few variety shows while at it? Start wearing more of his clothing line out in public... btw, how is his clothing line doing over in Korea? Anybody??

I'm off to see Rain's "Love Song" MV. It's already out folks! Stop teasing us already.

YAY! hmmm i guess if he's talking to Chun Sung-il, it's gonna be another serious role. dammit, i was hoping he was gonna do a rom-com. fullhouse was okay but it was mostly just the hype (believe me i was one of those fangirls who went full on gaga over rain). and don't even get me started on a love to kill. i only got half way through it. i guess his best performance to date was his role in sangdoo.

The whole reason why I became a fan of Rain's was because of his acting and then his singing. I've been dying to see him act in a K-drama for so long and am eagerly waiting for his return. Loved him in A Love To Kill and I'm a Cyborg, but that's okay and also his comic side in Full House so I hope in this role he'll be given something new and exciting. Just gonna have to wait and see,

Rain could use some R & R.. The bags under his eyes are hideous! Korean celebs need to chill out. Especially Rain, since I have always though he is an over achiever.. He always wants to venture out and excel in all kinds of field.. Acting, singing, US acting market, CNN ernglrish (squirn!) interviews, and management companies! He needs a really LONG vacation, so that his "comeback" is definetely a comeback.

Full house was one of my first k-drama!! I'm not a Rain fan, but I like him.
I saw that he is also nominated for Time Magazine's 100 Most Influential People in the World this year!! good for him!!

people , forget "full house". watch "a love to kill". there you'll see what he's really capable of!!! not only that it's rain's best performance in a korean drama ever, but also ONE OF THE BEST PERFORMANCES EVER IN A KDRAMA !!! it's stunning ,you will be speechless when u see how he acts. He is TRANSFORMED in that drama,i'm tellin' ya.

and now i'm not talking about how good "a love to kill" is , or how bad it is, because that doesn't even matter (and personally i think it's a masterpiece).
If you are a real fan of his, you will watch the drama,leaving aside what others say about the drama! Watch it, if not for the drama itself, at least for rain's stunning performance.

In "a love to kill" ,his performance is as good as lee jun ki's performance in 'time between dog and wolf' - even better. i swear.

A Love to Kill won the Best Drama in Asian TV awards in 2006. I dont know what's their criteria in choosing the Best Drama but it was choosen as the Best Drama for 2006 beating some other dramas in other Asian countries.

Glad to read about Rain making a k-drama comeback. I think he's one of the better singers turned actors around. He was fun to watch in Full House and he showed more of his dramatic skills in A Love to Kill. I hope whatever project he picks will be a good, I just don't know if I could see him in a period drama. It would be nice to see him in a nice light romantic comedy series. I think can pull off more of a dramatic role but look at his cute face. Wouldn't Rain fans rather see him smiling than crying? LOL.

I LOVE in a weird way -depressing- A Love To Kill. I have certain plot that overly dramatic and depressing BUT I do LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the intense, deep love story of them both.

Stunning performance from both of them. A roller coaster ride. Indeed.

IT WOULD BE GOOD IF LEE DA HAE'S IN TO HIS COMEBACK DRAMA AND, I HOPE SOMEDAY LEE DA HAE AND RAIN WILL BE PAIR TOGETHER, OMG!!!!! HOW I WISH,,,,,,

i have a lot to comment about ALTk and Sang Doo, let me compose my thoughts and come back

This is so not relevant -sorry- but i just want to say that i work at The movie/music store and Rains movie, ninja assassin, totally sells out. It might not have done avatar status in the box office, but it sure is doing great on dvd. Just wanted to share.

Anybody that still haven't watch A love to kill should go and buy the dvd. It worth of buying, the story was so good n touching.The songs and musics was perfectly made for the drama. It makes us (my 5 n 7 yrs daughters n hubby) became very much deeper of becoming RAIN's fan. We love him. I personally can't wait for his come bck in drama scenes.

Folks who have followed Rain's progress over the years may agree Sang Doo was one of his best works. He showed maturity beyond his (21 and a half years) and was able to deliver a career defining performance

Of course, he was helped by a strong plot with a great storyline that tugged at people's heartstrings. The character Moon Sera was soooo evil and Eun-hwan + Sang Doo were soooo pitiful that it gives the term ' star crossed lovers' a new meaning. It left me pondering a lot. Even the themes of fatherhood, love between a father-daughter, responsibilities that come with being an adult, sacrifices, love between brothers (Sang Doo and that doctor whose name I forget)

A Love to Kill at first viewing was nothing but depressing but I rewatched it two or three times and the depression waned with each viewing but his acting grew more and more on me. Sure, he looked constipated in some scenes and completely emanicipated in others but if you look beyond the irrational bits, their love was enviable and his acting chops were commendable.

Which is why I am looking forward to his drama. Not a year has gone by without me hoping he does a drama soon. You can imagine how pleased I was when I read news that it is confirmed is working with the Chuno writing team. It doesn't matter what drama, all i am concerned is - there IS going to be one !!! And I will get to watch it on KBS World

On a related note, did his character Bokgu die and Eun-suk (Shin Mina) survive? I still think both of them died but people tell me she survived (her eyelids fluttered) but he died protecting her. Can someone enlighten me please?

Glad to see some people with positive things to say about A Love to Kill after the first few negative posts. I have seen all his dramas/movies and A Love to Kill is definitely my favorite. Yes, it is despressing, but the acting is incredible - conflicting and emotionally raw. At first I didn't like Rain's spoiled uncomplicated character in Full House but, on re-watching, I now get a kick out of Rain's comedic acting. I am sorry that his drama prospect last year with the writer of Sangdoo and ALTK fell through - that writer develops multi-faceted characters. I have high hopes for this new drama though - a stellar cast.
