Myung Se-bin, Song Jong-ho cast in Three Sisters

SBS’s current daily drama Wife Returns will be wrapping up its run soon, and taking over its slot is the new series Three Sisters, which stars Myung Se-bin in her return to television and Song Jong-ho, recently of the melodrama Will It Snow For Christmas.

Three Sisters actually features two sets of sister trios; the drama tells a “touching and lively story” about one trio in the older generation, and another in the younger. Myung Se-bin plays the main lead as the oldest sister who gave up university to take care of her family. This marks Song Jong-ho’s fourth time playing a doctor (the other three are Surgeon Bong Dal-hee, Cain & Abel, and Golden Age of My Life). His marriage ends in divorce when his wife has an affair, and he thereafter adopts womanizing ways, until he meets and falls for Jo Ahn (Everybody Cha Cha Cha).

Myung Se-bin’s last television role was in the 2007 drama Goong S, in which she was just about the only actor who did much real acting. (The acting in that drama was so subpar all across the board that that’s not even hyperbole.) But don’t judge her from that choice; some of her better roles include The Woman Who Wants To Marry (2004’s original series, which was sequeled recently) and Wedding. This is also her first drama since her 2008 divorce.

Also starring are Kim Hae-in (Chuno) and Shin Jin-soo (Jejoongwon). Three Sisters will air its first episode on April 19.

I don't know who she is but I'm not a fan of the actor. From what I've seen, his acting has been very wooden and lacking.

Does Three Sisters have anything to do with the show Three Brothers, or is it just a coincidence?

@aX: Omo! Song Jong Ho is very talented (far from "lacking" imo), and his acting was really great in WISFC. He makes pretty good use of his eyes, which gave a lot of emotion in his acting.

Ah, K-Dramas and their never ending trios of siblings. The list of dramas that center around ___ number of siblings seems to never end~

Some are fun, others end up boring. Hopefully this will be entertaining :D

Not too interested in the drama based on the plot, but I do agree with JB on Myung Se-bin being perhaps the only person watchable in Goong S. And for some reason, I think the picture of Song Jong-ho in this post is a really attractive one...

Oh man, SJH? I am so there, even if the plot isn't that interesting yet. Maybe it'll get more interesting when I find out more detail about the plot.

@ Biscuit,

I've seen him in 'Will It Snow at Christmas' (hated it!), 'My Prescious You' (I really enjoyed it!), 'Golden Bride' (it was okay), and a 'Thousand Years of Love' (ugh! Don't get me started!). It's not like that I saw him in only Kdrama to form this opinion on him, but I have seen in quite a few of his Kdramas and honestly, I stand by it!

His acting is a bit too wooden for me but I do wish him well. I just don't think I'll be tuning or anticipate anything he's in...

I've seen Cain and Abel, but have no memory of him whatsoever :O It's hard to notice anyone else when So Ji Sub's around, I guess. I haven't seen WISFC (can't stand melodramas), but what I DO remember him from is Surgeon Bong Dal Hee. His acting wasn't that great even for the small role he had, but I liked him anyway for no reasons unknown.

I might tune in for him/Jo An, but oh man, daily drama?

MYUNG SE BIN!!! OMG!!!!
One of my favorite actresses! The first dramas that I remember watching (when I was like 6 or 7), had Myung Se Bin as the main character.
SO EXCITED!!!!!!

I loved WISFC, mainly because of Go Soo, although the plot complexities drew me in as well. However, I was never really a fan of Song Jong-ho's character, even though the character was multidimensional, and I attribute some of that to his acting, like aX said. He gave an expressive performance, but something about his acting was a bit bland to me. I think it was because he rarely smiled lol.

Myung Se Bin! I'm glad she's coming back! I thought she was great in Wedding.
Oooh. And Jo An! I haven't seen her in any dramas. I've only seen her in movies. So this should be interesting.
