Kim Myung-min is the Demolished Man
by javabeans
…and that’s not referring to the bodily stress he put himself through while playing an ALS sufferer in his last movie, My Love By My Side. Actor Kim Myung-min‘s next project is a thriller film called The Demolished Man [파괴된 사나이]. (No, it doesn’t have anything to do with the sci-fi story of the same name.)
In the film, Kim plays a minister whose daughter is kidnapped. Though he initially believes she died, a phone call from the psychopath kidnapper lets him know she’s still alive, and he does everything to get her back, including giving up his job and undergoing a divorce with his wife.
Kim is currently busy with character and script analysis, and the production is set to begin filming on January 20. It is aiming for release later this year.

And right below this article is another thriller movie of another person getting kidnapped... heheh.
Ah, I watched the trailer "My Love By My Side" yesterday... his acting is so good that I was crying simply by watching a trailer.
He's such a good actor that I'm happy he's getting another role in a movie! I just hope he keeps healthy this time... -_-''

i saw him in an interview on KBS (Entertainment Weekly) and he said he's gained back 13kg of the 20kg he'd lost, so only 7 kg to go. He still looked thin but a lot better. Go, KMM!

Because I'm shallow, let me just say that I think he is one hot ajusshi. He may not be strikingly handsome, but he's got that certain charisma that emanates when you see him in action. I've only seen him in pictures before and I didn't really care, but when I started watching him in Bad Family, I've totally changed my mind. Plus the fact that he's dedicated to his work, I loff him already!

Gimme back my son? Not without my daughter?
Technically, it's not a kidnap movie if it doesn't have Delroy Lindo as a detective who says to the parent, "I would bet on those who pay [the ransom].
I want KMM to do a romantic comedy drama where he plays a lonesome dove bank teller who has been chasing amy all his life, only to find true love in his best friend's wife.... and the complications that follow since his best friend is also a serial cheater and the wife is a gambling addict....with hijinks and hilarity to follow.

Yeah, I actually thought that said Demolition Man instead of Demolished Man.
I feel sad now :(
The movie does sound interesting, searching for your kidnapped daughter while going through a divorce? Ouch!
Here's hoping KMM does go all John Spartan on the kidnapper. :-p

The story doesn't sound terribly new or exciting, but the fact that KMM plays a minister (or an ex-minister as the story progresses) seems a bit interesting. Knowing that KMM is a devout Christian makes me curious to see what different things he can bring to the character. It'll be kinda like a character study on faith, unless that's not the angle the writer and director had in mind... which makes me think of another Mel Gibson movie, Signs, where Mel was an ex-minister. Interesting.

Of all your drama ideas, I like this best, Mr S. It would be fantastic to team him up with Son Ye Jin (should it be Sohn or Son BTW?) in something like what you said, or do an 'Alone in Love' type drama. Simply divine!

Too bad I would have loved that book made a movie with KMM since he is a very good actor. That story sounds like a typical thriller but I surely will sneak a peek.

minister as in pastor minister or political minister?
but why go thru a divorce to find a missing daughter? hmm~
reminds me of "Voice of a Murderer"...they didn't divorce, just.
Hahaha. Mel Gibson.
