Merry Christmas!
Hope my dramabeans family all have/had a fun, safe and food filled celebration with their loved ones. I think I will be having post-Xmas leftovers for the next few days....
@hjkomo - the giver of a dwaeji-tokki!
You would have to be one of the coolest aunts! A dwaeji-tokki! Please adopt me :)
Am debating do I want to fight the crowds for some bargains? If only there was a kdrama store that was having a Boxing Day sales or had dwaeji-tokki's then this would be an easy answer :P

@ cingdoc
lovenyc52 is in Taiwan for a few weeks, but I'll be around and happy to see you in 85c, let me know if you want me to bring the babies.
@ hjkomo
I always knew I liked the 3 year old the best - she's a girl after my heart, as much as I grouse about YB taking a nose dive for me after episode 10, I still *heart* Tae-kyung and Jang Geun-soek as if it was yesterday I saw his face beaming in Hwang Jin-i.
Btw, the 12 yr old boys picked Jeremy, right? And the lovely little lady liked Shin-woo for his absolute sweetness?
I'm actually excited about Chipmunks, though I'm devising a way to sneak out of it and watch Sherlock Holmes instead, but hubby is a meany grouch and won't let me. :-(
I'm not holding my breadth for the Smurfs live action movie, though, some things ought never be re-made live.

Happy Holidays everyone.
I have a quick question for people here. I finished angel's temptation and lots of people were annoyed with the ending. I agree that I was peeved at certain details but the ending fit the show. Lots of people were saying it was bad ending tho, which brings me to question: Is an ending that you do not like and a bad ending for a show equivalent?
Just wondering.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Everyone!
The final guest just left and I can finally relax. Normally my dad and I are in the kitchen cooking all morning until our one pm dinner time. But this time, my dad pushed the majority of the cooking off on me--not that I mind--and he only took care of the ham. I didn't mess it up thankfully.
And I got everything I wanted for Christmas especially the Taeyang mini album and BigBang Big Concert live CD that I wanted. My sister is totally amazing. And the two gift certificates I got to Barnes&Nobles will be gone by the end of next week. I have plans to buy a lot of books.
:) Hope everyone had/has an amazing day!

Nope. The 12 year old boys were split: 1-Jeremy, 1-Shin Woo. The 9 yr-old girl chose Jeremy. The 3 yr-old likes Tae Kyung because of his hair. :P
When they found out we couldn't watch Avatar, they all yelled out in protest and wanted to call their parents in China to get them to change their minds. Lol.
I think we'll wait for hubby to get here (he's driving down today) before we go to see the Chipmunks. (I wish I could sneak out and watch Sherlock Holmes or Avatar, too ;) )

@hjkomo - we left off at episode 11 last night, and the niece (14yr) will be back tomorrow, so I'm still rendering video for her ipod. But, so far her vote is Shin Woo. BUT, then she caught that famous TK smile. In fact, she rewound it, froze the frame and went "Oba, LOOK! He looks like a totally different person!" So the vote may still be wavering. However, she thinks ShinWoo is nice, smart and sweet - and what could be better than that? So we got a lot of "Poor ShinWOOOOOO!" LOL She then went on to youTube and watched fan video of the FT Island/CN Blue concert and said "Wow! He can play." Hong Ki, who I think is a better singer...nada, even though she thought the photo book with the FT Island CDs was adorable. Sigh.
Anyway, we apparently have a Shin Woo fan!
She also thinks I should buy the YAB DC cut edition. Me, I'm wavering as I can really only afford 1 box set for myself and I'd like to pick up either Dr Who, Torchwood or the complete RedDwarf. Since she got Star Trek season 1 for Xmas, she sympathizes, but she wants the YAB DVDs at hand and is not a Whovian (although she's now been seriously infected with Douglas Adams, so we may work our way up to Whovian).
Oh, and if I ever hear Dir En Grey for more than 1 song again, I'll revoke any iTunes access she has - or at least prevent her from picking the playlist for the car. My metal days are long gone. Ok, it's good Japanese metal, but you don't want to try driving to it.

First of all, to my Dramabeans family, a very HAPPY CHRISTMAS to all of you!!!
Now, to serious business:
@ Belleza, Langdon813, hjkomo, cingdoc, celestialorigin, and others
(throws petition papers into the air) I surrender! I admit defeat. My ‘BAN GRATUITOUS SHOWER SCENES IN KDRAMAS’ didn’t stand a chance in hell with the power of the ajummas within my own circle of family and friends, nevermind here in Dramabeans. I got hit on the head when I told one of my aunties about it, told me she’d beat me to a pulp. Tried to run a survey for my petition in the WISFC recap thread but JB noona hijacked it by replying first and, of course, everyone will be on her side after that. I’d have to say that the power of the ajummas is really formidable(waves white flag).
@Taohua
Really wanted a black Corby myself, but I noticed my mum tapping her fingers to 2pm when we were in the car. Now, if by chance, she saw my other petition ‘BAN ABS FLASH IN KPOP’ then she’d probably get me the green one for Christmas just to annoy me. She’s funny like that. Now, if it really got on her nerves that I dissed her Taec Yeon, then I probably won’t even get one. OMG, what have I done?
@ bspanda
Hmmm…. I kinda like your take on it. It’s all about RESPECT. Yeah, I like that. Them lads did work hard to get fit and all, so it’s only right for them to show us all their efforts. It kinda appeased me somewhat(after losing the battle with the ajummas). I wouldn’t mind seeing a KJH shower scene actually. Has there ever been one? I bet Langdon813 would know.

Merry Christmas to all who celebrate it and I hope you enjoyed your day. Hopefully Santa found his way to your house!
I spent the day with my 80yr old Aunt and Uncle which was more fun than it sounds. All my Uncle wanted for Christmas was The Beatles White album on CD. He has it on LP and cassette but his new car has a fancy music system so he had to upgrade to CD! Just love that he's still interested in music. My Aunt wanted Tommy by The Who.
Two rocking wrinklies!
Back to work tomorrow! Party's over for me.

Merry Christmas! The day will be over in 19 mins but I didn't want to let it end without sending wishes to everyone! I pray that you're holiday went well and the celebrations continue long into the new year!
As for me, I am crazy in love with Cha Kang-jin! OMG! I started WISFC on Thurs and now am completely caught up... I blame it on JB's recaps. I had no intention of really watching until the subs where further along but here I am pissed that I have to wait till Jan 6 for a new ep!
Either way, I have plans to finish Alone in Love and CitC, if I'm not tempted to rewatch WISFC eps. Right now, I just love the younger cast. They truly made the drama for me.
Have a great weekend everyone!

Boxing Day is a mystery holiday for us. Why is 26th is called boxing day? Downtown Sydney was pure madness with all the bargain hunters.
I,on the other hand, just went to Misha and bought an eyeliner pencil for $5.00... Couldn't convince my Korean colleague to go and have Dolsot Bibinmbap(I'm not sure of spellings here), so had a Korean take away, still very satisfying experience after all.
I'm not sure if I can continue on WISFC, It's getting to be very traumatic just by reading the recap... Heartaches... Can I go on without seeing Goo Soo knowing he's available for viewing? Don't know...

@64 hanjanman
Yep yep yep all about respect. Totally respect those fine speciMENs in my kdramas when they shower up. As twins I think it was like we both took parts of the lyrics to 'Respect' in totally different ways....
I, bspanda, took
"R-E-S-P-E-C-T
Find out what it means to me
(ie I found out that 'respect' meant that: I adore those men who put in the hard work to make my nose bleed while I squeal in happiness at their hard work = chocolate abs)
You, hanjanman, took -
"Oh (sock it to me, sock it to me,
sock it to me, sock it to me)"
(ie for your suggestion of the shower ban - really it was like you were asking for trouble and there could only be one result.....)
However it is great to see that you saw the error of your ways! :p Never too late to learn my dear brother. Next time you think of making such a ground breaking (or is it OT shaking?) proposal I would recommend that you quitely ask for a female opinion. As your twin I am there for you anytime - as our twin radar seems a bit faulty, perhaps a quick email before you throw such provocative statements next time. :)
Am glad the OTers did not lynch you (well not too badly) - they are a kind and reasonable bunch, they were just trying to make you see sense. Perhaps I should have begged for your mercy with your non OT (aka blood related) family too! Hope your head was not seriously hurt. See if you had asked me before hand it would have saved you the pain......maybe that was why Santa did not bring you a Corby for Xmas? you were just way too naughty!
Hmmm not sure if there ever has been a KJH shower scene but I think THAT is worth starting a petition over don't you think?

~I want to wish a merry Christmas...I want to wish you a merry Christmas. I want to wish you a merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart.~
Greetings to every one from Mexico where the Christmas season ends on January 6. People here call it the Lupe Reyes Holiday because it begins with the feast of the Virgin of Guadalupe (Lupe) and ends with the feast of the Epiphany or Day of the Three Wise Kings * (* reyes).
Thank you to Javabeans and all the regulars for their always precious contributions to this thread (sorry I can't mention you all by name, but we all know who you are).

I remember our KJH showing a little skin in Fireworks with Han Chae Young. But I refuse to sift through all the episodes. Fireworks is one of the dramas I valiantly went through just for the sake of KJH. I found this instead. I think it more than makes up for our KJH's lack of a bonafide 'SHOWER SCENE'.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rujOfOrR_-Y
Oh, if you're going to join us in the WISFC bandwagon I just want to give you a piece of advice. Don't look straight into Go Soo's eyes. You might get hypnotized into giving him all your money. Han Ye Seul has been clever enough to avert her eyes or not look directly. It has turned Belleza into a 'MARRYMEGOSOOOPPA!!!' screaming wreck.
Whaaa, just saw that thread saying one of my favourite ajussis Lee Jung Jae is playing opposite my favourite noona Jeon Do Yeon in 'The Housemaid'. So looking forward to that even more now!

Hi there! You're back in sunny Sydney, I see.
Boxing Day -- You ask an excellent questions. No one seems to know the answer. See the fount of all knowledge: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boxing_day
The explanation I've heard the most is that presents and leftovers were boxed up after Christmas Day to be given to the poor (after the non-poor have had their fun, presumably). But, who knows.
My approach to WiSfC is to watch with a critical eye. Not too difficult. That way I don't get too emotionally involved. For me, with melodramas, there's a kind of automatic preservation-from-the-crazy button. Once the melodrama gets turned on full tap, the plot tends to go CRAZY and everyone starts to overact, and that button gets pushed causing my eyes to roll and my brain to go "Whatever!". Then, you see, I don't cry. Automatic preservation!
@90 Hanjanman
Great fanvid! I so wish I'd watched that instead. So many hours of my life wasted on Exhibition of Fireworks! And nothing even stuck in my mind, evidently, as watching the fanvid reminds me. I keep going "what on earth was that about? Did I actually watch this? What kind of plot could that scene possibly fit into?" (Answer: no sane plot.)

Well....I was over at Magic Mountain with the kids (minus the 3 year-old, thank goodness) and hubby & a cousin (who both chickened out of riding the scary rides)...so it was just my nephew and me on the INSANITY they call rollercoasters these days. My nephew's been waiting for ages until he was tall enough to ride the scariest ones for his first visit to MM and, of course, he thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. Fortunately, I used to lurve rollercoasters when I was a kid...but have they changed a lot since the last time I was there, almost twenty years ago? OH, HELL YEAH! Luckily, I didn't lose my lunch or hyperventilate when I felt like my life was going to end in a tragic, ironic twist of fate. ;)
@ hanjanman
Thank you for the clip. Much better than the drama. ;)

" Don’t know how I managed to fake my smile throughout the long Christmas day but I’m crying inside."
awwww *hugz* there there.
"What the hell crap is this?....."
That hanjaman is a demonstration of the power of the kdrama god/godess! Now you know never ever to mess with the cosmic balance of the universe (and to make sure to keep the audience very happy)...perhaps it is kdrama karma?
Hopefully your lovely gesture of the youtube link of KJH (and thanks a zillion for that!) will mean that you get your much wanted Corby ASAP.
For those who have never watched it - the best bits are in that fanclip (and they make more sense). Aside from the loveliness of KJH - the awfulness of Fireworks was cranked high to eleven.
Re: Boxing Day sales
Went to the department store sales - bought absolutely nothing (although 45% off books were calling me like Sirens). How was that for restraint - no shoes, not clothes, nada. And this was with low crowds too! Only ended up picking up Wii accessories elsewhere as it was something I had wanted and they were a bargain!
Weirdest thing....
By the end of the day my feet had somehow lead me to my fav kdrama shop and *poof* I now have IRIS, Tamra and Swallow the Sun to enjoy. A shopping experience that took no longer than 5 minutes! :) See the power of the kdrama! Strong stuff indeed. :P

I just want to ask one thing, this is kinda OOT (even though it is OT). Recently I watched MISA and discover Im Soo Jung through that series and I lovee her. Just wanna know, is she an A-lister star in Korea? Why did she rarely act in a drama? Not like say, YEH or GHS.
