I like the cast but the problem is when I see "competitive used car salesmen", I am hardly likely to go "oooh, this is a must watch!" In fact, it sounds deadly-dull.

Do shows centered around every-day professions (other than doctors?) do well In Korea? Because Hero (which was pushed as being about journalists) seems not to be doing that well, and I know Lawyers of Korea didn't have great ratings, but that is admittedly a small sample.

I saw the first few eps, but found them very boring and stopped watching. The show just couldn't keep my interest.

This has been one of the oddest dramas I've ever watched (I'm halfway through on KBS World and keep telling myself, Stop watching!). Some great actors wasted (notably Choi Chelo-ho) and a few wonderful moments by actors in secondary roles (notably Lee Won-jong as a blond Buddhist car salesman!). But this drama hasn't figured out what it is: a story about the cutthroat car biz or a sentimental tale about Park Hae-jin's character Ha Ryu spending part (most?) of every ep playing social worker to the downtrodden? The tone ...kibun? is all wrong.

There's no reason we couldn't be interested in the korean car business -- even tho generally i could care less about cars, i could get interested if the writing were better. Any subject is potentially drama-worthy. This one is a mess. KBS, bring back sageuk in the weekend 10pm slot!

I've been following it on KBS World as well and watching it on fast-forward. It's more palatable that way. I have to agree that it really seems confused about what it wants to be - comedy? drama? melodrama? and no one really cares about the korean car business as a drama watcher really. It's hard to swallow the motivation of the characters. You want to sell cars to make a difference in people's lives? Err...okaaay...

That said, it has a simple and easy to follow storyline and I enjoy watching Chae Jung-ahn in a role rather different from the one she had in Coffee Prince.

Wouldn't recommend anyone to watch this though.

I beg to differ. I actually started watching this drama because of Park Hae Jin, and it's good to see him playing a character that's radically different from his usual nice-guy/sweet-guy/successful-man characters in his past works. The first eps were actually quite captivating to me, with its off beats of humour and occasional melodrama elements. The first eps were hard to catch on as the rivalry is not stated clearly but I personally had liked the drawback approach instead of plastering it straight in my face.

I like this drama, because it does not only focus mainly on the car sales business, but through it they instill lessons of life (esp in how Ha Ryu picked himself up) and also subtle romance elements.

I would not say that it's a perfect drama, but I guess the genre applies to specific people rather than a more mainstream audience. So it's a matter of preference.

I think javabeans' opinions are affecting a lot of the readers here. They automatically seem to see the logic javabeans reasons and seems to agree.

I found it enough to catch my interest. But that's just me.

While I cannot speak for all of the readers here, I can most certainly speak for myself. I first came across JB's site while searching for information on the Korean remake of Hana Yori Dango. Being an avid HanaDan fan, I was curious to see if the new interpretation would catch my interest, as well as hoping to gain some insight into K-dramas, as I had never followed one before (K-movies, yes; dramas, no). What a fortunately-typed google search led me to was her recap and analysis of the first episode which I read, and then from that decided to watch episode one. Fast-forward to the end of the series and I had become a regular reader, as well as an avid proponent of JB's recaps and subsequent analysis. As a person unfamiliar with Korean culture, I found them to only enhance the experience of watching a K-Drama.

Since then I have watched a number of other series, some all the way thorough, some mid-way through, others being dropped after only a few viewings, as is wont to happen when the mood, tone, cast, or plot don't seem to strike the right chord with a viewer. Coincidentally, the majority of these dropped shows were also one's that JB panned out on. This is not to say that if she doesn't like it I won't like it, or vice-versa, in fact a few of the ones which failed to hold my interest were ones that were applauded by JB. I merely mean that after finding our tastes to be similar more often than not, and with history proving her multiple analyses to be pretty spot-on for me; I am more than willing to accept her opinion on a show and to take it into consideration when weighing whether I'll watch it or not. They automatically seem to see the logic javabeans reasons and seems to agree" seems a bit superfluous, as one of the reasons we DO come here and read JB's opinions is because we respect them, and they have rightfully earned that respect. Please be so kind as to not belittle our readership/viewership based solely off of your differing opinion. "Hot-Blooded Salesman" may be a perfectly apt show to watch, however I was bored with the advertisements and what pre-show PR was released, and therefore chose to pass on it this go-around. There was nothing more behind it than that.

i did not find this drama 'fun' to watch . i droped it after a few episodes however i think the main reasdon for me to drop this drama was because i did not like the pairing. i just could not feel 'it' between the main couple. i felt that there would have been a better match with jae hee (i think that is her name) and the main guy. this are just my thoughts. personally i was really disapointed.

At first I kinda enjoyed d drama buh after d first ten episodes I was about to begin the second when I found out dat ha ryu ended up with da hye which was very disappointing xo now I've lost interest totally,I can't belive d writers let ha ryu end up with da hye xo saad,I rly luvd hin jH

I've juss watched few episodes now and its not bad and since I heard ha ru's gonna end up with da hye I'm going 2 continue watching
