Dad Likes Women posters reveal two sides to Lee Na-young

When I first heard of Lee Na-young‘s newest film, Dad Likes Women [아빠가 여자를 좋아해], where she plays a transgender character, I thought it would be a serious, thoughtful film. I wasn’t the only one who thought so, since there were a lot of comparisons to Transamerica in the previous comments. That’s not to say that the film won’t be thoughtful, but it seems like it will have a decidedly comic, lighthearted tone as it explores the developments that arise between a father who is sought out by the son he didn’t know about — and by the time they meet, the father is now a woman.

Lee Na-young plays both parts, as we can see in the new teaser posters. In the one below, Lee is dressed as the man, and the tagline reads, “Shhh about my… handsome(?) past.” While her post-op image shows Lee looking as we are used to seeing her, I think her male garb makes her look a little jokey (the obviously fake mustache probably doesn’t help). But it sounds like she’s a woman for most of the time, so perhaps it won’t be a big stumbling block. In any case, I’m all for checking this movie out.

Dad Likes Women opens in January 2010.

Cute!!! I like her a lot... She is one of those actresses don't rely heavily on thier appearance. Different aura from her. Comfortable, warm n natural...

when i first heard about this i was pretty squicked. idk why, but after seeing some fairly pretty actresses dress up as boys, it's hard to see them as females again for a veeeery long time afterwards. the jokey look of the male persona looks decidedly unconvincing enough for me though rofl.

Not the most convincing looking man but the premise still remains interesting. I hope they don't get too jokey with it....will anticipate!

Ugh... I've kind of had enough of women pretending to be men but still looking like women... this one is especially egregious because she's actually supposed to be playing a man in the man parts as opposed to playing a woman posing as a man... which is (slightly) more forgivable when it's unconvincing.

the male version of lee na young can pass for one of those girly idol singers! i hope this won't be a full out comedy, but incorporate some thoughtful/emotional scenes as well!

maybe they should have picked an uglier actress. she is too feminine to play a man..even for transgender she just looks way too feminine..though modern medicine can do wonders now

They should have picked BYJ for the part or another really feminine looking actor
who looks andro in real life . God knows Korea has lots of beautiful male actors.
Now that I would watch.

She's the girl from Country Princess and The Host right? She's quirky and a darn good actress. Will anticipate this movie, but may not be expecting much since the plot is kind of eeehh.

Oh dang, I always said that if my nose and face were a little smaller, I'll look just like her. I'm like a fatter/flatter version of her. ^^;

@ 13, I think you're confusing her with Bae Doo-na.
