Yoon So-yi jumps into filming for Hero
by javabeans
After only being selected this week to replace the lead actress of Hero, actress Yoon So-yi jumped into filming for the drama the very next day (the 5th), shooting her first action scene on the 6th.
In the scene shown in the stills below, Yoon’s character (Joo Jae-in) jumps in to save the nephew and niece of Lee Junki‘s reporter character when they are nearly kidnapped by private loan sharks — their mother, his sister, had failed to make repayments on a loan. Yoon shows off a variety of action moves and kicks; bystanders who stopped to watch the filming gave her a round of applause.
After completing her first day of filming, Yoon So-yi said, “When I first read the script I felt it was very refreshing, and I thought carefully about how to show that feeling. But once I got to the set, the atmosphere was really great. In particular, the director, Lee Junki, and Eom Ki-joon helped me out a lot, so I could film with less pressure. Thanks to them, I was able to become absorbed into the acting, and the day passed by in a blur.”
After losing lead actresses in both Han Ji-min (for personal reasons) and Kim Min-jung (due to injury), Yoon So-yi is the third actor to take the part. Hero will air a week later than planned, premiering on November 18.

I don't know the first thing about this actress, but I wish her the best of luck in tackling the lead role for a production that has already had more than it's share of problems. May the talons of those waiting for her to fall flat be dulled by her eventual performance...

So either her performance will be dull, or the talons will be dull, right? ;)
I hope she does well too! :)

Girl gots long legs....
At least they didn't make her cut her hair like Kim Min jung. That was just tragic.

Good thing she didn't have to cut her hair. She looks better with her hair the way it is. I hope nothing else happens to derail the drama; I look forward to watching it. :)

The only bright side coming out of this whole mess might be that people will tune in now to see whether this drama will crash and burn or actually be half decent.
I hope this drama does ok, it would be a shame to waste an Lee Jun-Ki project like this.

erm, am i the only one who likes the fact that the role landed on someone other than han ji min and kim min jung? like it even more that it's yoon soyi? and thank God she doesn't have to cut her hair short (what will kim min jung think about this???) Anyway, I still look forward to watching the series.

@ niKai,
No, you're not the only one. I actually like Yoon So-yi the best from the three ladies who got this role. I just wish that it hadn't happened the way it did, that's all.

When I first saw the header, I thought it said Yoon So Yi jumped filming for Hero and I was thinking "Oh no, this drama will never get aired," but that was just my mistake. Well, she seems very enthusiastic so I wish her the best of luck in filming Hero. This almost reminds me of the problems with filming Boys Over Flowers, excpet that was ten times worse.

Oh thank god, they kept her hair long. I was seriously worried that they were going to chop it off like they did for Kim Min-jung. :P
Also, dayummmm, long legs!

She got to keep her hair long- feel bad that Kim Min Jung had to cut hers!
well at least it looks like Yoon So-yi is having fun and working hard. I think this set back will have all those in the production give it 110%

As someone not versed in these matters, I don't understand it. Why did the previous actress have to get her hair cut short? Why couldn't they just stuff it up under a short hair wig?

i'm so glad she willing to join the drama, really think it's better than kim min jeong in my opinion. She knows how to fight and had some experiences in action scenes before so she doesn't have to practice then it save time. I don't know much about her acting as people said she's bland. Anyway, i'll keep support this drama.. as always ^__^
Hope viewers will give a chance for HERO. I really trust in junki's selection. Just face the problems and work harder with positive mind.

Actually, aesthetically, I think Yoon So Yi looks the best with Lee Junki. That's purely superficial of course, but now I'm a bit more excited to check it out. I wasn't so excited when it was Kim Min Jung...I never felt one way or the other in regard to her acting skills and in combination with that look I didn't like, it seemed like it was going to be a lackluster part for me. But the excitement is back...although mostly because I'm just curious to see if Hero suffered because of its many changing leading ladies.
I've never seen anything with Yoon So Yi but judging from purely shallow reasons, I'd say she'd do better than Han Ji Min or Kim Min Jung. And on an interesting note, I have a friend who look JUST like her...it's sort of uncanny really.

It looks like the fighing skills she learned from Shadowless Sword will come in handy. Somehow, I can't really picture Han Ji Min or Kim Min-Jung in action roles.
Fighting!!!

oh i forgot to say ~
at first i think she's not pretty at all, quite disappointed with the new female lead. Anyway, she looks so cute when she smile. It can brighten up the atmosphere. ^ ^ it quite suit the role of Ju Jae In who has some cute side when she loves someone.
i'll start to like her keke...

I feel sorry for Joon Ki. I think this series gonna suck. THe story is boring. He did better materials than this. The only person that people would want to see is Lee jun ki, that sends a red flag. lolz

I just don't understand the trend where people wear tights as pants - as in actual pants where the bum does not even get covered by a shirt. -_-

holy beepness, those are some FREAKING LONG LEGS THAT LADY'S GOT. i wasn't too interested in this drama after all the mishaps, bc i'm sure they weren't able to pull out its full potential in this limited timeframe, but it's starting to interest me again. poor mbc.

I really liked her in that drama with Kim Rae Won - Say That You Love Me. and she was also great in Arahan. so hopes she will do great.
she and Han Jimin are good frens by the way. maybe HJM did a favor to the director and recommended YSY for the role.
