Yoon So-yi does KARA’s booty dance for Hero
by javabeans
I wonder if this is something new, because I can’t quite picture Kim Min-jung‘s tough, bowl-cut-wearing female cop character in quite the same light as her replacement, Yoon So-yi. In these latest stills from Hero, Yoon shows off girl group KARA‘s “Booty Dance” [엉덩이춤] as her cop character poses as a backup dancer.
Yoon So-yi said, “This is the first time I’m dancing in a role. The outfit and makeup is the most provocative I’ve worn so far, and I was very nervous so there are some parts that I’m disappointed with. It was a little embarrassing, but I worked hard at filming and I hope you will watch and enjoy it.”
With their one-week reprieve, the drama will now premiere the first episode next Wednesday, November 18. I can’t say the story has ever interested me; something about the “quirky reporters at a third-rate gossip rag run into hijinks” premise reminds me of Partner, with its bevy of comic background characters. But with all the troubles plaguing the production, I’m pulling for Hero to manage a respectable run.

she looks a bit stiff when trying to be sexy, but adorable when she's relaxed! I think if Kim Min-jung was doing it, she would be wearing a wig....and then when she's away, she would dramatically pull off the wig to reveal that she's no dancer, but a tough cop with cropped hair going undercover!! dun dun dun!
i'm really curious to see how this show will do!

what i'll say about the kara booty dance - if snsd did the booty dance they would have been called sluts trying to attract middle aged men but for kara people are okay with it. i love gyuri but i find kara a boring group.
anyway i don't think i'll watch this series but she seems to be having fun =]

I agree with @ambs
Not to make this a thing about girl groups. But I love SNSD and people hate on them so much. I don't find Kara interesting either.
I hope this drama turns out awesome. I mean, I think Lee Junki deserves it, it's been awhile since his last drama. And he's going to enlist after this right?
I agree, I think the last actress casted fit the role of a cop much better, she's much too "pretty" but hopefully she uses that and acts even better to prove people wrong.

Didnt kim min jung cut her hair for the role? If so, does that mean they're chopping off Yoon So Yi's hair as well? Ugh, I hope not. I don't think she could pull off a short bob.

Hmm...if this series is supposed to be funny, I can totally see how she could be like Elizabeth Hurley in Austin Powers....maybe the production decided to go with a sexy cop instead of a tomboy-cop... and that could work! I've actually started City of Glass and she is okay in it, so I will give the drama a try!
Good luck Hero!

I know I should be nice and make some insightful or worthy comment, but I can't help but think (as I'm scrolling down the screen), "Could we get her a burger, please?"
I know that actresses are usually thin but wow...her arms make me nervous.
On a nicer note: Hope the drama does well despite its many problems!

@ giddygirl108: I was thinking exactly the same. Her arms are weird because she's so skinny. She will look better if she has more meat on!

uhhhh.. i don't know about you guys but SHE DOESN'T HAVE ANY APPEAL to me. i mean.. in a way or another, most actresses are appealing in their own ways, but i can't feel any pull from her.

she gave me different feeling compare with KMJ's appearance. I don't think she is sexy, but rather cute and cheerful and she looks suitable with the outfit (like a dancer hahaha)
I hope she won't wear high heel shoes in this drama because junki will look little short although ,in fact he's taller than her about 6 cm.

LOL SNSD has been branded "sluts" from debut =)
ever heard of of slut generation?
They're like the only group that has an official international ANTI website.
I'm not a KARA fan so I don't know much about them. SNSD is also a boring group in my opinion. The only non-boring group is 2NE1 or 4minute. T-ara is boring as hell! Maybe After School is ok.

i don't like 2ne1 because i don't like CL's rapping and their singing is mediocre and the outfits can get pretty ugly at times. i don't know much about 4minute t-ara but i recognize their names. hot issue, i don't care = songs i didn't like.
as for snsd, i'm from america where the entertainment sector does much worse than snsd and i'm not quite sure what snsd has done to gain that rep? what's with the idols for american teens today? vanessa hudgens and her nude pics, miley = terrible at singing, idk about the other kid stars who i don't care about.
antifans make me laugh though they spend all their time stalking/bitching about people and basically act the same as a fan would watching all their performances etc.
ps the only people who brand snsd "sluts" are the people that are horny for them and hate them for it. and also consider the word slut before you use it because if snsd is slutty then there are MYRIADS of famous groups that to you, must be prostitutes.

I like Min-jung so I was sad when she droped this project. I was even planning to watch the drama because of her pairing with Jun Ki. But now that she's not in the drama, I'm not sure if I'm going to watch it. But good luck to Yoon So-Yi! She looks pretty.
Since some people started to talk about girl-groups...
I don't like SNSD because only 3 member out of 9(!) can sing, the others are mediocre or bad singers. What's the point of having so many members if less than half can sing? I know that to be famous in KPOP, you don't need to be extremelly talented, but I don't understand why SNSD are popular because they lack charisma and their songs aren't good even in bubble-gum-cutesy-pop standard. They should just disband and form a trio with the girls that are able to sing and be given better songs. :/
As for the other girl groups... I think out of all idol girl group Brown Eyed Girls are probably the best, they're all great singers and the rapper is good too. Besides that, their songs are catchy and interesting. They also have interesting MVs like their latest one 'Sign'. As for the other girl-groups:
2NE1, I like them, they're very charismatic and talented in singing, rapping and dancing. Even CL, the main rapper, sings well.
Wonder Girls have fun songs and they have the catchiest songs out of all girl-groups, even if you don't like them, I doubt you'll be able to the take the chorus of their songs out of you head, besides that, the girls are very charismatic. And I like their retro concept.
I can't judge Kara, 4Minutes,T-Ara and After School because I haven't listen to more than 1 song of them.

why is this now a fantard discussion? lol. and people are still hating on snsd? korea's pretty much moved on from that, internationals should too lol. bitterness is unattractive ;]
i'm starting to get more interested in hero. yoon soyi IS hella skinny, but not as much as the actual kara members lol. hara always freaked me out while i was watching their performances, so in comparison, yoon soyi isn't like... shocking. of course the ideal (anorexic) female body is something that's getting worrying, but that's a whole other topic altogether.

@18 ~~The first thing I noticed was that she was skinny, too. She couldn't afford to lose five pounds, but I don't think she has an anorexic body. She just seems like someone who isn't casual about her fitnesss, but an obsessive runner and healthy eater. I don't know/care about the other singers.
The whole obsession with skinny-ness seems to be spreading as more and more people are overweight. Honestly, though, I'm used to guys who like full-figured, even plump, women. Too skinny isn't sexy for them, at all. And they are taking "sexy" literally...so, yeah... (><)
Still, I don't know if there has ever been such a polar opposite between "grossly overweight" and "sickeningly skinny" before.
As for the pop music, I don't even listen to it. I know the songs "Lollipop" and "Nobody"...and I wouldn't know even that if I weren't in Korea at the time. I didn't even realize that old style Rain was a "world star" until someone here told me, lol.
Of course, I wouldn't know about kdramas, either! Oh, the horror! ^^

Yeah, there's definetely better music and more talented artist outside the KPOP idol world. But its fun to listen to some songs just for the sake of entertainment.
@ 18 corrakun: There's no hate towards SNSD going on here. People are just expressing their opinions and you can't expect everyone to like them and their music. As for my comment about wanting them to disband, maybe I didn't expressed myself very well, it's not that I hate them, but I think the 3 girls that sing well are having their talent wasted in a a group with 9 members and having to stick with singing those type of songs they have to and only being able to sing a few seconds per song. It would be better if their company debuted these girls that sing as a trio, kinda like a 2nd S.E.S, instead of making them join an overcrowded group.
@ 20 Sandy Kea:
I hope it doesn't flop but i'll be surprised if it manages to have ratings above 11. All the previous dramas of MBC aired on these days of the week didn't had good ratings... Cinderella Man, Triple, Soul, Heading to the Ground... I think the only one that has been sucessful despite the low ratings was 'Soul' because the ratings were pretty good for a drama of its style.

I think this discussion about girl group's is very interesting and funny because some people totally miss the point. I personally HATE The butt dance but i do like kara. The reason why SNSD SHave been labelled as ahjushi-idols and therefore sluts is because LSM said they are when he debut them. The reason why people hate them is because they're air.heads and over.rated. Tifanny Has Dissed everyone from Shinhwa to Senchuan earth.quake victims. Tayoen and suyoung are both rascists and jessica is plain rude. This is only a little of what these girls are like. Plus they don't really like APOLOGIZING. they're dead weight in sm that everybody else has to carry. They're the Paris Hiltons of korea.
