Iris bed scene too hot for broadcast television
by javabeans
If you’re following KBS’s spy drama Iris, you’ll know that the romance between main characters played by Lee Byung-heon and Kim Tae-hee, who are fellow spies for the NSS, has been heating up. In particular, this week’s Episode 3 featured a love scene between them, and with spoilers teasing the big moment ahead of time, interest leading up to the episode was high. However, apparently what was shown in the broadcast was not the entirety of what was originally intended. There were concerns for the appropriateness of the content given the drama’s age-15-and-up rating, so in the end parts were edited out.
Fans will get a chance to see the full uncut version, however, albeit on cable. The channel OCN, which has the exclusive rights to re-air the episodes, will feature the scene with additional footage. The moment comes when the two spies steal away to Japan for a low-key vacation together to keep away from the eyes of their colleagues.
OCN will rebroadcast Episodes 3 and 4 on October 24.

I have not seen La Dolce Vita, manly because I’m not very fond of the lead actor. I don’t want to go into details as to why, because then this will turn into a long comment (it will be long anyway lol) and I might get a little bit off topic, so just know that La Dolce Vita is definitely one of the dramas on my to watch list… I’m giving myself time to grow out of my dislike for the actor. Lol
My number one goes to “Time Between Dog & Wolf.” I love mystery and suspense, and spy dramas are the ones to provide that more than any other, unless it’s a suspense drama without spies lol. I read in an article about this drama, that it was the first project for the director/s, all they did before was films, so this was their first drama. When you watch the drama it shows. For me, it was like watching the “Bourne Trilogy” I couldn’t stop watching from episode one. It gets better gradually, and every ending leaves you hanging.
I have a number two and three, but since these other dramas are so different from Time Between Dog & Wolf in their context and genre, you could almost say that they are all number ones.
2. Beautiful Days (best drama of LBH that I have seen… so far)
3. Que Sera, Sera (Eric’s best performance, that I have seen so far lol) I love this drama because its so real in its context. The characters do exactly what they would do based on their personalities. And the love between the leads was heartbreaking and passionate, as much as it was selfish and wild. I fell in love with Eric, but wanted to kill him.
Then I have 4-10, in order.
4. He Who Can’t Get Married (best comedy ever, in my opinion)
5. Cain & Abel (I haven’t seen “Sorry, I love you”)
6. Who Are You? (Yoon Kye-sang is the best, I tell you.)
7. Thank You
8. Robber (Almost nobody likes this drama. I thought it was sweet. I loved it)
9. Coffee Prince
10. Return of Iljimae.
I have to mention “The Devil” although I couldn’t finish the drama, I think it’s a great thriller. The reason why I couldn’t finish was because I couldn’t take the intensity of Joo Ji-hoon’s character’s thirst for revenge. If you know anything about anime (Japanese cartoons) there is an anime called “Death Note” I thought Joo Ji-hoon’s character was so much like Light from “Death Note” and I find myself loving this characters but not sympathizing with them, so its almost unbearable for me to see them fall.
I did like “Dalja’s Spring.” Haven’t seen “Bad Family” but want to. “Lovers in Prague” I agree with you, although I hated the female character, but liked the actress, she was great. “Green Rose” I agree with you 100% on this one. I felt the same way. I also liked “My Name is Kim Sam-soon” the leads have so much chemistry is unreal.

One of the saddest endings I've ever seen in a show. Appropriate, but very sad.
I kinda wished Lee Jung Ki had done the Devil, and Joo Ji Hoon had done Time of Dog and Wolf. JJH played Oh Seung Ha very cold, but Lee Jung Ki, especially with his seething rage, would have played him as a modern Hamlet. And I felt Soo Hyun should have been played as cold as possible, which would have gone well with JJH. Just my opinion though.

Explain to me one thing please. How can they tolerate all sorts of Wonderbabies shaking their asses half naked on national tv but when it comes to implied sexual relationship between two mature adults it's too provocative to be aired?

Time between Wolf and Dog was great. I loved it too. Not only LJK but the gangster dad, the mistress, the sidekick who is jealous of LJK all of them ...just great casting. I kind of got an inkling when I watched this drama that the director was very inspired by Hong Kong action cinema especially John Woo. Becoz when one of the characters travels with a fake passport he used the name Chow Yun Fat. It was a nice little homage to the coolest action hero who starred in all of John Woo's classics. I hope I am remembering this correctly. He might have used the name John Woo. Anyway, it was either one of them.
Coffee Prince was fun and Gong Yoo is so likable. I have heard great things about The Devil. Is it also called Rebirth?
I haven't seen the rest of the dramas on your list. I will check them out but right now I am so busy with YAB, Smile you and IRIS. So many good dramas to watch suddenly. Smile You is my fav among the three. I love the two leads especially LMJ. She is fierce. I haven't liked a female character this much since Makino from HYD.

Oh I saw Thank You. I liked it a lot. I loved the leading lady. It's very important that I like the leading lady. That's why I am really enjoying Smile you and YAB. I am not crazy about KTH but since IRiS is an action suspense thriller we'll probably see more of the guys and I love both the guys (LBH and KSW and that TOP.

Spies and hitmen..'Nobody Does It Better'..(remember the James Bond theme??)
Eric Mun would have made it hotter if he's not rockin' the Army..

THE UNCUT BED SCENE FROM IRIS:
http://gall.dcinside.com/list.php?id=iris&no=6032&page=1&bbs=
I just saw it on soompi thread, so I thought that this belleza, langdon813 and the rest of the LBH pregnant fans will love to see it.
Instructions: when you go to this site, it should load automatically. Let it download the whole thing (it takes a loooooooong while). When it is done, it keeps replaying the clip non stop until you turn it off. That's when all of you will be so happy :-)!
However, let me warn you in advance- don't expect too much, so that you are not disappointed.
SPOILER ALERT
Seriously, I don't understand why it was cut... I don't see anything going overboard there. I saw much more explicit sex scenes in other dramas.

@ Sonam #54:
The Devil and Rebirth/Resurrection are two different shows. Both are good revenge dramas and I recommend them as must see kdramas. From what I read on the internet so far Rebirth is considered to be superior and I have to agree. Rebirth made me fall in love with Uhm Tae Woong (he is in both shows but he is the leading man in Rebirth) and it has the absolute best OST I've heard in a kdrama. It's been years since I've seen it but I still listen to the music almost every day. This fact by itself is a wonder because I am extremely hard to please and get bored with things very quickly.

Thanks for the clarification. I think it was Rebirth that I had heard so much of.

I loved Que Sera Sera, too. The ending was so romantic. Both meet again, older wiser and sadder and then they part again and Eric walks home sadly lost in memories. And then finds her sleeping on his doorstep. They look at each other, there's no need for words. I loved the last freeze frame shot of Eric's emotional face. I think Que Sera Sera had the most romantic ending of all kdramas.

Yeah, I fell in love with Eric like I said before. He was so much like what my fantasy man is, even with the egotism and all. I mean, most girls like bad boys; they just have that extra element of passion that sets your heart on a raising rampage; If that makes any sense.
This drama too, I could not watch completely. I went trough the recaps after they part the second time. I couldn’t take it, I was completely heartbroken. I kept telling myself I would just peek at what was coming, that I would definitely watch until the end, but then after reading the recaps I didn’t feel like going trough the whole drama. Even then, it has been one of my favorite dramas.
“Que Sera, Sera” is one of those unconventional dramas that makes you think hard about your own actions… hmmm!!! I can’t describe my love for it with one word, but its definitely there... ahhh! So romantic.
Eric.... when will you be back???? lol

I saw the extended scene... and that was too hot for 15+ rating??? I hear 12 year olds doing crazy shit than that! But I have to admit, I like how they keep that side of acting real. None of that "touch lips... oh I'm having an orgasm" kind of kissing scene.

Because Iris is for the housewives, and Wonderbabies are for 30-year old men. But, then again, we moaned about a frigging nipple while Iraq was in chaos. Ajumma > Jesusland. ;)
