Rabbit and Lizard to release next month
by javabeans
Sung Yuri‘s film debut, Rabbit and Lizard, has finalized its movie release date and will premiere in theaters on October 22. Currently starring in the SBS drama Swallow the Sun, Sung has acted in numerous drama projects since making her transition from singer to actress, but this is her first foray onto the big screen.
Sung stars as a Korean-American adoptee who returns to Seoul in search of her birth mother. Along the way, she meets a lonely man suffering from a rare heart disease (Jang Hyuk), who therefore prepares for each day as though it may be his last. Following their chance encounter, they travel together in a “heartfelt story of pain and love.” Described as a pure and innocent character who harbors a lot of pain, the role is “a shift away from Sung Yuri’s previously bright and lively image.”
Prior to its wide release, Rabbit and Lizard will also screen at the upcoming Pusan International Film Festival, which runs from October 8 through 16.

Sounds sad, but in a nice way. Just hope it's more eventful than some similar sounding movies like The Railroad. But I like Sung YuRi and her acting gets better and better.

Looking forward to this!
But to be honest I hope Sung Yuri doesn't have English lines in this movie. I think her English in Swallow The Sun is pretty awkward.

Soobi, I agree with you, Sung Yu Ri's English is... bad. I didn't like Sung Yu Ri at first (when watching One Fine Day, with Gong Yoo :D), but after The Snow Queen, and Hong Gil Dong (l) (Kang Ji Hwan is just the best *w*), I think she's getting better and better ^^. I'm watching Swallow The Sun, and I love her acting in it (she's annoying but this is the character. Or not)!
Looking forward to seeing this movie!

is it just me or does Sung Yuri in these few images resemble Chae Rim in Dal Ja's Spring, especially that last shot? haha Same kind of hair, painted black nails, kind of droopy/pouty mouth...

Goodness gracious, what a title! Who would want to watch a movie about rabbits and lizzards? Why can't people in the creative world be more "creative" in coming up with more relevant and catchy titles? This is outrageous! Maybe the Korean title is more meaningful and something is lost in the translation. That;s why I say no to literal translation.

If Jang Hyuk finally plays a nice guy instead of his usual jerk personality, I might watch it. I like Sung Yuri and wish her well in her first film foray.

I like Sung Yu Ri in Swallow the Sun. Her character gets a lot darker toward the 2nd half of the show, and she does a great job of conveying her character's turn to cold revenge.

One of the leads has a rare heart disease, you say? Well, I must watch it then because there is no way this story has been already done in K-romance movies! Wai, ai weel even bet dat nobudy weel dye, and dere weel be hapynes in da end. Ai bet dat rite nao.

@ 9 BO:
The Korean title is actually as it is in English. And I kind of like it. This kind of romance movie could have had the cliché title with the word looove in it. I think this is much better. ( :
