Lee Chun-hee regrets quitting Family Outing
by javabeans
Actor Lee Chun-hee (aka “Chunderella”) was a fan favorite on the SBS sitcom program Family Outing, and it was to much disappointment that he chose to leave the show in June against the producers’ requests. Now he has come out and admitted, “I regret leaving.”
Lee Chun-hee candidly expressed his regrets on the September 21st broadcast of talk show Ya Shim Man Man 2 when asked about his departure. He explained that he’d watched the show recently: “Seeing everyone get along so well with the new members without me bothered me.” He even disclosed that CF requests and his income had dropped since leaving the show, eliciting big laughs with his forthrightness.
Next up for Chunderella is the upcoming comic SBS drama series Smile, starring Lee Min-jung and Jung Kyung-ho; he plays the brother to Lee Min-jung and the immature son of a rich family who loses everything and moves in with their former chauffeur’s family.

“Seeing everyone get along so well with the new members without me bothered me.” --> I know his feelings, but the show must go on. And still I don't know what the reason behind him leaving Family Outing? Is that because netizen talking about possibility he's taking drugs and close to the drug dealer *forget his name, the one in jail*?
I wish him good luck, he's acting was good though.
first???

@ 1, are you thinking of Joo Ji Hoon? I'm pretty Chun Hee didn't take drugs, otherwise he wouldn't be on TV.
I'm sad Chun Hee left, but I'm really liking Park Hae Jin at the moment.

There were rumours at the time that Chunhee might have been involved. Nothing came of it, though, but there was a bit of buzz on fansites and so on that his possible involvement might have led to him being taken off the show. They came out afterwards and clarified that Yejin & Chunhee left of their own accord, due to schedule conflicts or something, but I'm not sure why Chunhee left when he wasn't filming anything.
Either way, it's really a shame that the two of them left; considering how close everyone was, I can see why Chunhee would feel a little left out when he sees the others having fun without him. Can't be helped, I suppose. I've warmed to Haejin (not so much to Shiyeon), but I haven't managed to find the same level of enjoyment in Family Outing as I had before. Yejin and Chunhee were real classy personalities, too, and it's hard for the two new members to fill their shoes. Perhaps in time they'll get closer and develop the same kind of close bonds Yejin and Chunhee had with the rest of the family, but right now it's simply not as fun.

Ditto! After Chunhee and Yejin left, I couldn't watch the new episodes.
Park HaeJin is ok. Park ShiYeon...well, let's just say that I don't even know that shes there. I know that sounds mean, but its true. Yejin and Chunhee had personalities that stood out...so did their roles in the show. I'm not sure what kind of character Shiyeon is supposed to be on the show. -_-
Hopefully, as time goes by, the family will grow closer so that HaeJin and ShiYeon both can stand out.

Awww. Chunderella!! He was like my favorite part of Family Outing..... he and Stepmother Kim was the perfect tandem! Not to bash or anything, but the new team will never be like the old. And I definitely feel for ChunHee. And I still wish he didn't quit.

I'm feeling a mixture of emotions.. I pity him because he's only just realised now that made the wrong decision with leaving the show and because of that his career has kinda dropped since he left Family Outing. I feel so sad that he isn't there more, and sad that he regrets leaving the show. I want him to come back, but that would be kind of awkward and the producers are probably pissed off with him anyway for leaving. But I'm also kind of angry -- geez, why the hell did he have to go?! I know there were rumours and stuff flying around at the time but Family was perfect with him and Ye Jin in it.. I really don't get why he left. I know Ye Jin had to really go because of her drama, but it wouldn't have been such a massive blow to the show if he didn't leave -- I guess I could've coped if he stayed and only Ye Jin left (though I really don't like Shiyeon)..
I really miss Stepmother Kim and Chunderella :(

I agree..Family Outing was the best thing that happened to him in a long time and he finally realizes the mistake he made for leaving....the show has lost it's initial flare since it started and I think it's because both Ye Jin and Chun hee left.....It sucks he can't come back, but yeah..FO hasn't been the same since they left....

At this point, I don't see how he could come back even as a guest. I mean he would have to be in some blockbuster movie or high rated drama before I think the producers would even consider him as a guest.
I would certainly like him to come back, but only as long as they didn't get rid of HaeJin who I think has now earned his spot there. Perhaps Chun Hee can come back when DaeSung does his military duty, if the show lasts that long.
As for YeJin, I think the producers would take her back in a heartbeat, or at least I hope they would. I would be totally okay with them getting rid of ShiYeon. Other than doing what she is told and screeching every other minute, she brings nothing to the table. I think my problem with her is that before appearing on the show she gave interviews saying that the audience was going to be surprised at the real her because she was a tomboy at heart and a really casual person. I don't know what she thinks a tomboy is, but she's not displaying it.
Even with the changes in family members and programming (not as many games, no bedtime ranking, etc.), I still love this show and think it's the best "variety" program out there. Heck, it's the only variety program I do like. Well, I did like the first We Got Married, but its second version is just awful.

Coming back is just too hard, I know I want Chunhee and YeJin back but the producers let them go for a reason. I heard the producers wanted "fresher Faces" and thought Chunhee was expendable? Its a shame really.

I am a big fan of the show. It's not only funny, you also get to learn a lot about life in the village. Watching the show just simply makes me happy.
As much as I like Chun-hee, it would be weird to bring him back on the show after they had that farewell episode. He shouldn't have left in the first place and this goes for Ye-jin too. I mean, what I couldn't believe was how they chose their mediocre dramas over Family Outing. They’ve amassed more fame in the past year than they ever did since their debuts. Both of them have been acting for about ten years or so but most people, including me, didn’t know who they were until after we got to “know” them on Family Outing. I understand that as professional actors, they probably want to act more than do anything else. It was just really disappointing for the fans. They are two of my favorite members out of very likable, wholesome cast on the show. tsk tsk.

QDS is no way "mediocre", lol.
He regrets leaving or he was kicked off? Big difference.
I thought the latter because of his rumor drugs scandal. Seriously, who in their right mind would want to leave Family Outing!? It's so popular. I understand why Ye-jin had too, then again, that was a big mistake also. She died half way through the drama.

Awww, that's too bad. I love Chunhee in Family Outing, can't forget how he washed vegetables with soap. His clumsyness is adorable! I hope one day he'll be back as guest, but for now I really like blunt Haejin.. :D wish Chunhee good luck for his career, he's such a nice guy, he deserves the best!

I'll never understand fully why ChunHee left the show and I'm sad that he is regretting the decision now.. I miss having him and Ye Jin on the show but I think it was a bigger loss for ChunHee than Ye Jin.. Ye Jin had to leave because of the conflict between her schedule and FO schedule plus before when she shot both Hateful But Once Again and FO she became really sick/tired and her company was looking out for her health plus Queen Seon Duk is no mediocre show, its killing the ratings and every other show that comes up against it and even though she died half way through she still got a lot of exposure because of it .. Anyways I agree ChunHee coming back would be awkward but I miss seeing his clumsiness..

Yeah, definitely miss having ChunHee on the show... Like some of the others, I just can't watch the newer episodes knowing that both ChunHee and YeJin are not there.
As much as I want to be optimistic, I just can't see the producers bringing him back any time soon. The only thing I can do is watch the older episodes and pretend he never left, haha.
Still, I wish him the best of lucks.

I miss chun-hee too, hope he and ye jin could be back, even though they wouldn't be, and e new add-in really suck, and i dun even see their existence!
the fun is gone in FO, everything becomes dull and meaningless to watch..
one thing i hate about variety show is that they get u enthusiastic and interested in it, den halfway through, they remove the main lead, and poof, your hope dashed!

We miss Chun Hee......
It would be nice if he wouldn't have to leave.
Even if the new members would be added, it would be nice to see his chemistry with them, especially Hae Jin.
As for Ye Jin, I agree that she had a strong and important place in the family but I don't miss her.
