Horror flick Chaw sells to 15 countries
by javabeans
The horror movie Chaw [차우] always struck me as a B-list premise — killer pig runs wild! chaos and carnage ensue! — but the thing that kept me from writing it off was Uhm Tae-woong (Devil) and Jung Yumi (Que Sera Sera). Both are great actors who pick their projects carefully, and neither seems the type to go for a throwaway slasher flick.
And maybe it’s better than it sounds, because it has managed to sell to 15 countries, in advance of its theatrical release later this summer.
Chaw attracted notice amongst the European film market back in February at the Berlin Film Festival based on promotional trailers and has now sold to Germany, Austria, India, and Singapore, among others.
Perhaps hoping to follow in the footsteps of The Host, Chaw features a killer monster on the loose — a wild boar with a taste for human flesh. Uhm Tae-woong and Jung Yumi are among the five hunters brought in to stop its rampage.
The film releases in July.

When I looked at the pic I was thinking of a wolf and it being titled "Jaws" XD (No matter how many times I read it... I keep saying Jaws.... *sings the Jaw's movie theme song... badum! badum!)
Sadly, I like the cast but dislike horror *tries to forget the memory of that picture of her holding something that is attached to a hand*

That's totally Chairman Chae. Say what now?
I don't usually go for horror/senseless violence, so I probably won't be checking this out. But still, if Eom Tae-woong is in it.. *ponders*

I am not a big fan of horror movies but Uhm Tae Woong!!! I would definitely catch this. Oh, I also saw The Host before and that was okay.

Hi,
Chaw may be like Lake Placid with its giant killer alligator - a worth watching film - with a lot of twisted humor. If this one has some humor in the trailer, I may try to watch it - I'm a Jung Yumi fan! but I can't do straight horror -

This looks like absolute crap, and a rip-off of the American film PIG HUNT.
I will not be seeing the same film twice, let alone one in Korean.
