EZ Hyoung for My Sassy Girl
by javabeans
All right, here’s some PR in action: A song from EZ Hyoung‘s newly released second album is being used to promote the U.S. version of the romantic drama movie My Sassy Girl.
EZ Hyoung’s label Antenna Music is touting this as a big deal, that his song “Beatles Cream Soup” has been selected as the “Korean image song” for the film, but don’t think this means he’s going Hollywood all of a sudden — this is only for the Korean release of the movie on October 30. The flick starring Elisha Cuthbert and Jesse Bradford has pretty much already fizzled on whatever U.S. buzz it was hoping for, going straight to DVD earlier this summer.
According to Antenna Music, the song is also said to be used in another U.S.-produced indie film, but as no specifics are given (the contract hasn’t been finalized yet), forgive me for not being impressed. Don’t get me wrong — I like EZ Hyoung — I just find transparent attempts at PR to be laughable.

The US version is utter nonsense. Think The Lake House, but a hundred times worse. If you don't believe me, go see it. You will want you time back. I know i do.

Lol. Yeah. I watched the American version.
Oh boy. That wasn't so great.
So, it's only in the Korean Version of the US movie?
I don't think I heard it in the american version, but I could be mistaken.
Thanks.

I remember seeing the US version's trailer like a loooooooong time ago. I had assumed the movie was released and ignored- and it seemed like that was exactly what happened. I feel like it must be weird to watch a crappy remake of your country's big movie- i guess this will make some of those koreans think twice about the worth of "going Hollywood".
But this EZ hyoung guy is pretty hot!

I like the song -- but can it be in Korean please? The weird English is kinda hard to take. And at least in that case there would be a reason for the lyrics being incomprehensible to me. :-)

i've just watched the remake and i didn't like it. But I really like EZ Hyoung. And his last album reminds me of Sondre Lerche's music.
Jo, they want to see it because of curiosity. I'm pretty sure they won't like it.
