Lee Da-hae extends role as kimchi girl
by javabeans
Looks like Lee Da-hae has done so well hawking the Samsung-brand Hauzen kimchi refrigerator that they’re extending her contract with her another year, bringing her total time serving as brand model to three years.
As the face of Hauzen, she has capitalized on her cute, lively image, popularized the “asahk song” (asahk being the crunchy noise made by fresh kimchi stored — of course! — in the Hauzen kimchi refrigerator), and played on retro kitsch. Now she’ll follow those ads with a new CF showing off more of her feminine image. (I usually think she’s lovely, but I don’t like the prettily preserved, ‘50s housewife look on her.)
Her new drama East of Eden is also set to premiere soon on MBC.

i confess, i use to really dislike her cutesy image but then i saw hello miss and my girl and thought she was hilarious (very pretty, too although her eye lashes were freaky in my girl).

I don't like her look here either. The hairstyle is strange, and makes her look old, whereas the cutesy outfit contrasts with the oldness. It looks like she's forcing her mouth wide open, which is weird because Lee Da-Hae almost always looks natural when she's smiling.
But people will probably like the cute reservedness (though I prefer her lovely side more). She's been selling the stuff, or they wouldn't be signing another year, after all. ^^

LOL love the girl and all, but the mushroom head has got to go.
Hauzen gives her the weirdest ajumma commercials, for such a beautiful young woman they always ajumma-fy her.
Oh well, can't wait for kimchi girl's new image in East of Eden.
