Who Are You? extended by one episode

Okay, NOW I can relax — Who Are You‘s one-episode extension is officially confirmed. I’d been expecting this, but didn’t want to jump the gun — usually when a drama goes off-schedule due to some kind of programming issue (in this case, election coverage), the station does something to even out the broadcasts, whether by adding an episode or a special. That’s because most Korean miniseries air twice a week, and when the schedule is disrupted, that solution is preferable to throwing the next drama off.

In any case, Who Are You? now ends with its 17th episode on May 1. Over on SBS, On Air also gets extra episodes, but because of its high popularity, theirs is a three-episode extension. After Who Are You? concludes its run, MBC will air the series Spotlight starring Sohn Ye Jin and Ji Jin Hee in its timeslot.

I've always wondered why Korean mini-series are aired that way....

I mean there's definitely no equivalent in US television and I'm not sure about the reasoning behind showing two episodes back to back on (of all days) Wednesday and Thursday. Someone enlighten me?

choram, i don't really know the reason for it (other than why not?) but I really like the Korean drama system much better than the American one. With only one episode a week, I lose interest in series pretty quickly, and if I forget or miss a week, chances are much less likely I'll return right away.

Two episodes per week is just right (for me), and gives each miniseries a nice three-month run. The two episodes have to be distributed somehow, so why not air them on back-to-back nights to maximize viewer retention? So you have Mon-Tuesday dramas, Wed-Thurs, Friday, and Sat-Sun. Kinda makes sense to me...

I'm Cantonese and I'm so used to the 5 episodes/week type of format that Hong Kong series have. HK series usually air for 20 episodes, but they finish in 4 weeks! This 2 episodes/week thing is really hard for me lol.

Funny how in the beginning the had her hair in pigtails, and then tied behind, and now in these current episodes they have her hair down to make her look a bit older :)

I was not planning to see Who are You but was convinced by your review as I was ,backthen with FOWERS FOR MY LIFE. I finish the 15 episodes in 2 days .,Saw 12-15 episodes without subs as I can't wait for my soju to upload the next episodes. Very funny and interesting and I likeYoon Kye Sang this time,
m ore than his role in My Sister in Law is 19 with Da Bin and Kim Jae Won. I live in the east coast of the United states and was introduced to Kdrama for a year now. So far, I have seen about 60 dramas an d 80% are quite good. JAVABEANS, , may I recommend that you watch Heart of 19 or Pure 19, a 2007 hit starring Goo Hye Sun. It is the most lovely and entertaining Korean drama series I have ev er seen. i saw it at Veoh and continuation is at dailymotion. It is long but worth every minute of it..
