Coffee Prince: Eighth Cup

I really like where they’re taking this story. I’m so pleased to discover that they’ve taken what could so easily have been a bit of fluff — cotton candy entertainment — and somehow made it thoughtful, even poignant at times.

In other kdramas, I frequently get frustrated at some of the obvious plot manipulations that could be so easily resolved with one honest conversation (I know I’m not the only one yelling at my computer screen, “Just tell her already!” or “Woman, how can you not know?!”). But here, I find myself feeling the reality of these people’s quandaries and why they feel the way they do… Particularly so in this episode.

웅산 / Woong (or Oong, or Ung) San – “아무말 말아요” (Don’t say a word). Female jazzy-blues singer, similar in style to Madeleine Peyroux, with a vocal quality that kinda reminds me of Rachael Yamagata.

EPISODE 8 SUMMARY

As Eun Chan and Han Gyul kiss, Han Gyul closes his eyes for a moment… before he pushes Eun Chan away, alarmed. Eun Chan’s unbothered — she says the kiss worked in reviving his energy. She reminds him of his blind dates, how Han Gyul kissed Eun Chan in exuberance. Han Gyul blusters in denial, and Eun Chan mutters, “So why’d you close your eyes then?” and makes a face imitating him.

But thankfully, that doesn’t ruin anything between them, and they drink together outside. Eun Chan makes kissy noises to annoy Han Gyul until he threatens her into stopping.

Eun Chan: “How Han Gyul-ian of you. Do you know what that means? To preserve appearances, you won’t admit you’re going through a hard time when you are. You can’t say you like something when you do.”

Han Gyul wonders how to act around his grandmother, and Eun Chan relates a story about her father, who was sick for a long time before passing away. She’d lay beside him in bed while he slept, or go to him when she got scolded by her mother. The day he died, as she was leaving for school, she thought: “When I come home from school, dad might not be here.”

Eun Chan tests the waters by asking Han Gyul, “What if I were a girl?,” and he looks at her curiously. “If I were a girl, could we date?” Han Gyul answers it’s a good thing she isn’t; if a girl like her pestered him to date, it would be a headache.

Han Gyul tells her his time for playing around has passed: “I’ll have to get married, so I should meet a good woman that my grandmother and mother would like.” Eun Chan figures that means a daughter of some corporate family, and Han Gyul says that’s the kind his grandmother likes.

Talking it over with Eun Sae, Eun Chan wonders if she should just reveal that she’s a girl. She says, “The other day at work, I had this thought: Even if I could just be by his side, that would be nice. Then I wouldn’t have anything more to wish for.”

Eun Sae lays out her two options: Either she tell him the truth, or forget about having a romantic relationship and just go on acting as a male to be near him.

Eun Chan tags along on Han Gyul’s visit to his grandmother. While playing Go Stop, Eun Chan sees grandmother and grandson conspiring, and accuses them of scamming. Although the grandmother acts like she’s annoyed, she likes not being treated specially because of her illness, and Eun Chan does just that.

Also visiting are Han Sung and Yu Ju, and because I’m feeling a little more generous to Yu Ju these days, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt in this scene. Yu Ju marvels at Eun Chan’s ability to be comfortable around everyone, and Han Sung answers that Eun Chan treats everyone well — if he had the opportunity, he could do anything he put his mind to: “He’s a unique guy.”

Yu Ju offers her shoulder to lean on for comfort, but Han Gyul prefers her lap. He lies down, admitting how bad he feels for not spending more time with his grandmother.

However, Eun Chan and Han Sung see the scene, and Eun Chan feels the blow of seeing them together. Han Sung looks over and reads the expression on her face.

Driving back to work, Eun Chan is pissy and short-tempered, causing Han Gyul to wonder what’s with her. She uses Han Sung as the reason to vent her own hurt, saying he’s really got some nerve laying in the lap of another woman, knowing she’s his cousin’s girlfriend.

The mood thus soured, Eun Chan arrives at the cafe in an awful mood. Alone in the dressing room, she wipes away angry tears:

“I even kissed him. I went to the hospital with him. I made him laugh. And still, it’s her?”

Yu Ju asks Han Sung what she was like in her twenties (which I guess means she’s in her thirties), and he tells her: “Busy, dizzying, hurried. It was like something was always chasing you, but you didn’t know what.” Eun Chan makes Yu Ju think of her own younger days, wondering why she wasn’t as lively and exuberant.

Understanding the subtext of this conversation, Han Sung assures her, “She’s cute and pretty, but that’s all.” Yu Ju half-seriously tells him she’s not going to let it slide anymore. (As in, he’s paying Eun Chan a lot of attention, and she wants to be understanding, but there’s a limit.)

At work, Min Yub swears to Sun Ki that he’ll keep his secret (about his devotion to his former love), and Sun Ki, warming to him, asks if he wants to know another one. He’s actually Japanese (later we find out he’s half-Korean). Min Yub feels so grateful to be trusted with a secret that he wants to give something in exchange… so he whispers one of his own to Sun Ki: Eun Chan’s really a girl.

Eun Chan is still feeling upset with Han Gyul, and avoids him while working. Since she won’t speak to him, Han Gyul tries to engage her attention by giving her tasks, but no matter what he says or how he provokes her, she makes no response. Finally he brings up the subject directly.

Her comments about his behavior toward Yu Ju must have connected with his conscience, because he stumbles over his words as he explains: “The thing about me and my cousin’s girlfriend… well, about me and Han Yu Ju… so we used to… now, we’re…” But Eun Chan just walks off.

Eun Sae goes on an audition amongst some truly terrible acts, and although they like her telegenic appearance (but what’s with the phallic wand?), her singing is pretty awful. She sings the Korean remake of Blondie’s “Maria” from 200 Pound Beauty and cracks on the chorus.

Finally, Han Gyul takes Eun Chan aside to ask what’s wrong. She says it’s nothing, but he has too much to worry about — just say it: “What’s the problem?” And without missing a beat, Eun Chan tells him: “I like you.” That stops him short, and she repeats: “I like you. But that can’t happen, right? Since we’re both men.”

Han Gyul tries to brush it off as a joke, but she continues: “That’s why I’m trying to get over you. So just leave me alone.”

While in the hospital, Han Gyul sees a sign for psychiatry and consults with a doctor. He answers no to the questions of whether he’s ever wanted to be a woman, or use makeup to look like one. But the doctor, who’s clearly unhinged, doesn’t listen to his response and jumps to the conclusion that he’s attracted to all men, and gives him a few days’ worth of medication. Ah, Korea, aren’t we progressive. They revised the DSM-III in the ’70s, you know.

Min Yub presents Eun Sae with a bouquet of flowers, but she’s in a foul mood due to her failed audition, and is feeling no desire to be nice. She insults Min Yub, saying she hates ignorant guys like him, and when he won’t leave her alone, she throws his flowers to the ground. Aw.

That night, Eun Chan tells Eun Sae it really seems it can’t work with Han Gyul, but she still likes him. Eun Sae tells her to get over it, rather than being strung along. Hearing Eun Sae’s choked voice, Eun Chan comforts her sister, who cries over her failed audition.

DK (I assume) arrives at Yu Ju’s gallery to recruit her services for a restaurant he plans to open. He wants her to design everything.

At work, Sun Ki looks pointedly at Eun Chan’s chest and asks how she managed to flatten it. Eun Chan realizes Min Yub has told, and goes to give him a piece of her mind. He’s feeling depressed over Eun Sae (Ha Rim offers to help him win her over), but their confrontation is cut short by Han Gyul, who orders them to stop disturbing customers and get back to work. Eun Chan retorts that Han Gyul’s being more disruptive with his yelling, and he talks to her sternly — but as he’s finally gotten Eun Chan to talk to him again, he smiles to himself.

Han Gyul asks her if she’s gotten over her feelings for him, and she answers that she’s almost done. She’ll let him know when it’s complete.

At Han Sung’s house, playing around with the instruments, Han Sung notices that Eun Chan looks good today. She answers that she’s found that it’s better to follow your heart, even if it’s difficult. (I infer that she’s talking about confessing her feelings for Han Gyul.)

She compares Han Sung to Santa (“Whenever I see you, it’s like I’m getting a Christmas present”), and they play “Heart and Soul” together on the piano, side by side.

Bringing Eun Chan along as he takes his grandmother for dessert, Han Gyul watches as they get along. He promises his grandmother he’ll work hard to succeed.

Meanwhile, in a park at night, a couple of thugs harass Eun Sae. Look closely and you’ll recognize them.

Eun Sae isn’t intimidated, and snaps a photo to send to the police. Alarmed that their simple plan to make Min Yub look good is going awry, Ha Rim and Sun Ki chase Eun Sae with the aim of getting her phone. That freaks her out, and seeing her reaction, Min Yub bursts in and goes overboard in retaliating against her attackers. As a result, though, Eun Sae is both thankful and impressed, which makes Min Yub adorably happy.

At Han Sung’s house, he plays another song for Eun Chan, and it looks like he’s starting — has been, over the last episode or two — to see her in a new light…

Shocked at his kiss, Eun Chan pushes him aside and runs out, running into Yu Ju in the front yard. Yu Ju goes in the house, reads Han Sung’s troubled expression, and tells him simply, “I’ll call you tomorrow.”

The next day, Eun Chan asks Ha Rim if he’s kissed before, and if people really do it so easily. Ha Rim jumps to the conclusion that Eun Chan has found a girlfriend and tells Han Gyul, saying they should all help Eun Chan along. Han Gyul tells Eun Chan to bring her by the cafe, then hurriedly goes off into the empty kitchen to take some of the doctor’s medication.

Like Eun Chan recalled doing with her sick father, Han Gyul visits his grandmother and lies beside her as she sleeps. On his way out, his father calls him over for a drink, and tells him to enter the company. He’s set aside a job in marketing for him. Han Gyul finally stands up to him, saying his father doesn’t know what Han Gyul wants. He’ll do as he promised his grandmother — in three months, he’ll return to New York.

His father sneers at his interest in making toys, and Han Gyul notes that whatever he does, his father gives him only silence: “If you were going to neglect me like that, you should never have taken me in.” (More on this below.)

Han Gyul calls Eun Chan over to lift his spirits, and tells her the story of his youth. He was born of an affair his father had, and his mother, being kind and generous-hearted, took him in as her own son. (His birth mother is dead.) He found out one day when he came home early from school and overheard the adults talking. His first thought was that he had to leave without revealing that he knew, and thus he lived till now… But today, the truth finally came out, and he regrets it.

After Han Gyul passes out from drinking, Eun Chan carries him in on her back, dropping him on his bed, his arm strewn across her torso. Lying next to him, she stares at his face, his eyes closed, for a long moment before getting up — but his arm suddenly tightens and pushes her back down.

Han Gyul asks, “You’re gay, aren’t you?”

Eun Chan tries to get up again, and he pushes her back down again. He continues: “But I’m not. So stop trying to tempt me.”

She mutters that he’s the one who called her over, and one more time, she tries to get up, and one more time, he pushes her down: “Let’s be sworn brothers.”

Eun Chan tosses his arm off, gets up, and sits at a distance while Han Gyul alludes to a story about sworn brothers who are closer than blood brothers. Understanding his meaning, Eun Chan says, “So that means… we wouldn’t have to separate till we die, then.”

Han Gyul: “Call me hyung from now on.” He suggests her getting an earring or something to be a mark of proof of their brotherhood.

She shrugs him off, but the mood lightens as Low-End Project’s song “연애를 망친 건… 바로 나라는 걸 알았다” (which translates loosely to “I know I’m why the romance failed”) plays as Han Gyul chases Eun Chan around, telling her to call him hyung, until she finally does.

Eun Chan’s voiceover: “And so, even if it was as a younger brother, I wanted to be by his side.”

Han Gyul’s voiceover: “And so, even it it was as an older brother, I wanted to keep him by my side.”

Some additional thoughts:

I particularly like — love? — this latest development. I think someone mentioned how one wonderful thing about the relationship between Han Gyul and Eun Chan is that the friendship component is just as important to Han Gyul as the gay aspect. After wrestling with his own emotions, he’s concluded that he values Eun Chan too much to lose her. He showed that in Episode 7 a little, but Episode 8 really seals the deal, because regardless of the nature of the relationship, they want to be with each other. Even if that bars anything romantic (and they both clearly feel something romantic).

I don’t think it’s necessarily a homophobic reaction for him to arrive at this decision that he’s not gay. (Someone else might feel it is, and I can understand that.) Despite having feelings for Eun Chan, when he saw the doctor, none of those conditions applied to him, and he knows he’s not attracted to men in general.

This also further highlights Eun Chan’s dilemma. Even if she wants more from him, she now has more to lose. There’s a special closeness that comes from male bonding (and female, too, for that matter), and even if she were able to win him as a lover, she’d lose him as a hyung.

Okay, first things first. "but what’s with the phallic wand?" LOL! How did you even notice that? Bright minds are truly something else....

Han Gyul thinks that he's made a smart move. By making EunChan his "sworn brother", he can easily get away from his guilt. It's all in the name of "brotherhood" anyways. Too bad, the only one he can convince is just himself and that-little-guy-called-ego. Without realizing it, Han Gyul is actually digging his own hole, because he's only gonna fall in deeper and deeper, this way. And our poor EunChan is left with no other choice but to tag along. Aah...why must falling in love be so complicated?

Thanks again for your summary!!!

Though the issue of homosexuality is the main issue of this drama, I found Sun Ki's situation quite enlightning as well. Having Korean friends, most of them told me their parents insisted on them marrying koreans and all even though they grew up in France and therefore have different beliefs on this matter.

The fact that Sun Ki is Half-Japanese and keeps it a secret really stressed the issue of mixity on Korea I mean. Being mixed myself, people have always shown interest in from where I was from, which ethnicities I was and everything, most of the time saying I was lucky being from so many countries and all. But Sun Ki keeps it a secret as it was shameful, confiding it only to those he feels close to, such as Min Yeop whom he's had grown a liking despite his previous cold attitude.

Is mixity still that much of a problem in Korea? What do you think?

well hurried home today from work and voila!....another summary!thanks a lot for the summaries now i dont have to wait for the subs to watch this wonderful drama. and maybe someday, me too, will be able to understand what they are talking about.LOL!
Love your narratives, love the songs and points of view, i like people who can translate beyond what meets the eye. Wonderful job and for that worthy of all thanks! looking forward for more in the future!

i've read somewhere that the benevolent 'mom' is grandma's daughter. hence, HG being a product of an affair of his dad is not blood related to HS. am i right?

nenusa, no the mother is not grandma's daughter. Grandma calls her "daughter-in-law." They explicitly say that Han Gyul is born to another woman, who has passed away because Han Gyul's (current, step-)mother observed her death memorial service. Han Gyul and Han Sung's fathers were brothers. So they are blood cousins.

Ahhhhh, Coffee Prince! How you have grown.

Javabeans, i just love the title screen cap that you have (between Eun Sae and Eun Chan) - so sweet! You can tell that no matter how different these two sisters are; at the end of the day, they are still each other's best friend and confidant.

I am so impressed by some of the comments here... they are so eloquently expressed that i see no need to overanalyze the Eun Chan/Han Gyul's relationship.

Just a few things that stood out for me:

1.I've noticed this since the 1st episode but it has become more obvious that it is worth mentioning: The director has an interesting way of incorporate thematic scenes into day and night. Conflicts happen during the day and it's in the stillness of the night that the characters let their guards down. It's at night that EC and HG really express their true feelings. It's when we get the soulful exchanges and the most emotional satisfying moments in the series. Hmmm!

When Eun Chan blurted out to Han Gyul that she likes him... I was like "You go girl !". That must have taken a lot of courage for her to say (granted that she wishy-washy it right away) but at least, she was more honest to her feelings than Han Gyul. And i love her dearly for that.

So far, Coffee Prince has been a YEH's show. I am glad that the writers have allowed Gong Yoo to have his share in the limelight cause there were some good scenes and acting by him in this episode. It is now that the viewers can begin to feel that Han Gyul is worth the object of Eun Chan's love. Yikes, am i switching from the Han Seung/Eun Chan camp to the Han Gyul/Eun Chan camp!!??

Regarding Han Seung: it is ashamed that his liking Eun Chan now will be unrequited. It's just go to say that timing is EVERYTHING in life and love.

Ha ha ha, javabeans...look like someone has been brushing up on her psychology materials:

Sadly to say that DSM IV now considers "gender identity disorder (GID)" as a medical diagnosis... See how progressive the world has become in the 21st century, 30 years later!

Brushing aside the obvious fact that this is a love story, i like the path that the scriptwriters have chosen to go with. Coffee Prince is becoming more and more like a coming of age story (not about only EC and HG, but also about all these characters). And that is a good thing.

can someone romanize or if you have the website where the the lyrics of ocean travel ( the song from ep 4 that han sung serenaded yu ju with ) and hwabun by loveholic are already romanized, i would gladly appreciate it. love ep. 8. can't wait what will happen on ep9. will the whole hyung and donseng thing work for them or not. and how will han sung react to eun chan now? will he persue here? will han gyul get jealous? can't wait.

waaah! i both like and feel frustrated because of this ep its like the 6th when hk and ec hug...i love the way that hk for fear or love DECIDES TO KEEP EC WITH HIM EVEN AS A Dongseng...a lil selfish but we all need to think of ourselves every now n then...thats also another part...the characters in cp are both giving and selfish...hhaha...it seems that they are giving to others like considering others' feelings etc but selfish too trying to keep them close...

oh yeah...thanks for having these it really helps keep track of the story even if the subs come out a lil later

Thanks so much for a super-ultra-fast summary, Javabeans!
This really helps non-Korean speakers in understanding the drama more! :)
I love this episode as well, and touched by HanGyul's "sworn brother" move. I just wonder how long this sworn brother pact can stay strong.... heh.
But I kept thinking about HanSung's kiss....
I'm very sure he decided to kiss EunChan because he saw that EunChan was jealous of HanGyul's affection towards YuJu.
Yep, his feelings towards EunChan has indeed been growing for the past few episodes, but I cant help thinking that this might also be spurred by a little of cousin rivalry.... haha. Well, he's got the girl the first time round (i.e. YuJu's still his girlfriend after all), and EunChan DID like HanSung first, before moving on to HanGyul.
Another theory that I have, although I so don't want it to go there (I still want HanSung as the good guy... heh), is using EunChan to get back at the two timing YuJu. But since he's a sweet guy and all, haha, I hardly think this was possible.

loved the summary and the comments.. I really appreciate the fact that this drama is making more sense in terms of addressing homosexual issues..and I mostly like the fact that HC is prefering the male bond between them over her true feelings.. (dispite the fact she is a girl not a man)
you know I saw ep 8 before reading the summary .. and yes I understood everything and came her to make sure that I understood correctly..remeber the scene when HC told HK that she likes him but they are both men and she will get over him.. I was so suprised that I understood it clearly without any subs.. I think my addiction for KD is finally paying off..

I am not sure about others but I feel a surge of sadness when I listen to their voices at the end of their episodes. They have their reason of not revealing their romantic feelings to each other, but they can't deny the yearning for each other as well. I guess they must be thinking "rather to lose each other, why not repress our feelings so that we can still be together?" Eun Chan must be real special to Han Kyul as he told her about his parentage. I don't think even Yu Ju knows the truth.
At the preview of epi 9, I noticed that Han Kyul smiles whenever Eun Chan calls him "hyung". Maybe metaphorically it means "oppa" to him.

Ajashi means "Mister" or "sir" (= middle age man )
Oppa means " brother" but sometimes girls use it for their boyfriends.

ohgod I so love the way this drama is shaping up. The best thing to read after days and days of busy prep for an event that's left me with no free time - I just can't wait to actually watch the videos! By the way I have a question: didn't Eun Chan's father die in an accident, not an illness? Or is this a difference between book and drama?

Oppa isn't just for brothers, though that's the literal translation. You use it for anybody male that's only a couple of years older than you. It's a little less formal than other forms of address. When Han-Gyul makes Eun-Chan call him Hyung (older brother as said by a male), this is a new thing because Eun-chan has been calling him manager (sa-jang-nim). Incidentally, guys also use oppa, but only when they really are gay.

i do believe the relationship between Han Gyul and Eun Chan is getting much deeper. even though they have the feelings that they have...the small misunderstanding Eun Chan's gender is getting in the way. Han Gyul doesn't want to adnit that he has feeling for EC because he still believes that EC's a guy.... (how can he be gay???)....anyway, the fact that he wanted Eun Chan to be his sworn "brother" shows that he still wants him to be by his side.....

I agree with your opinion. They both have their own dillemma in their heart! And , now that Han Sung is starting to show his true feelings to Eun Chan , This will confused Eun Chan more and this will create a problem with Eun Chan and Yu Ju...
I watched the episode 8 yesterday , and i didn't understand a thing . It's so hard and I was checking your blog to see your summary..and finally, it's there. NOw, i think more clearly about the drama ..and how the plot goes..it's relaxing but yet , it's increasing rapidly..
Is the drama really follows the novel plot ?

This show is awsome so far. At least it is moving at a respectable pace and their aren't annoying flashbacks just to take up time. Thanks for taking the time for the synopsis. I'm totally addicted. Totally looking forward to next weeks episodes.

Dramabeans, I just wanted to thank you for posting your summaries. They are awesome and I especially enjoy your comments.

My thoughts on Han Sung and Eun Chan... I don't really think she's leading him on, at least not intentionally... I think there's a level of comfort that she has with him that, as much as she needs to be with Han Gyul, she doesn't have with Han Gyul--because he doesn't know she's a girl, so she can't really *be* herself with him. I really see HS as the brotherly figure ;D, so it's no wonder she was upset when HS suddenly kissed her.

Also, I think YJ is growing on me. I really want her and Han Sung to work things out and be happy together.

I have a feeling that the grandmother will be important in Han Kyul/Eun Chan and I think that she will try to make them a couple, she will probably discovered the gender of Eun Chan^^
Thei relationship is well developped, avoiding stereotypes, I can't wait for the 9th episode!

I'm with you re: YJ. I know that many posters here have little affection (or maybe they just outright do not care) for this character. But for some reasons, she does not irritate me. Yu Ju reminds me of the Yoo Hee Jin character in MNIKSS. I did not hate Hee Jin even though i was all for the Sam Soon/Sam Shik get-together. For now, I see her relationship with Han Gyul is more of a caring friend (I know, many will disagree on this). I thought she is a very astute and observant of all those around her. She is perhaps the only one out of the foursome who knows what each character truly feels. The way she reacts after seeing Han Sung/Eun Chan together in this episode was really graceful. Imagine seeing your boyfriend with another woman! Until things changed, i'll try not to be so harsh on this gal. If the writers decide to continue developing her character this way, i think it would make CP's storyline even more special and unique.

Hahaha..I agree with you up there. I felt strange when ppl said Yoo Joo's a bitch and stuff..I just didn't feel it. She's not a bad person..and I agree with you, that she thinks of HG as a friend, a very good friend that she can rely on when she feels insecure. Yeah, she might have betrayed HS in the past, but till now, we have yet to know the real reason, why she did that in the first place. She's not detestable as what ppl describe..manipulative and deceptive. Like what you said, she's probably the one who's aware of things going around her, not like HG and EC who are both confused over who and what they like now.

And oh, I'm probably the only one who thinks CP is starting to get boring and draggy now. (Many will disagree for sure). Besides ppl slowly discovering EC's a girl, every episode's basically the same, EC and HK bickering and making up, HS and YJ talking about the same old thing amidst their sweet mushy moments, etc...ahh.. I guess CP is not my cup of coffee. XD

WOW! I'm the 92nd to comment? That's soo weird... A LOT of people are really loving this drama, eh? Well you're a good writer dramabeans! You rock! I just finished reading the final episode of Bad Couple! And I love that drama too!
Yoon Eun Hye really cut her hair, because I saw a video clip for this drama and her hair was really short. The thing I don't understand about the Asian dramas is that why do they cut the girl's hair? What a waste of hair! lol. I know I always talk about the hair, but I care about their hair! lol. They shoud've used a wig! Just like in She's the Man!
I hope you upload the song "Maria", I LOVEEE that song! I want to download it! If you have it can you please post it? You probably won't be able to read my comment since I'm the 92nd person to comment lol....

I don't want to be too political, but, I would still say being gay is a mental disorder. Psychiatric profession has changed that mainly for political reasons. Liberalism has mainly gone backwards rather than forward.
Certainly there's nothing "progressive" about Liberalism.

Philippa, I think it's better to cut your hair short than to wear a wig...it'll be more comfortable and you can be more like the character and you can move very freely without any restrictions and worries that the wig might accidentally fall off while doing a scene (e.g. fountain scene, bath tub scene, being tossed by GY in the end of ep8, etc -- I wonder if they'll do that if she's wearing a wig, right?) and imagine how many NGs would that take? :)

Thanks a lot javabeans for the wonderful summaries! The series is halfway through and I just wish that the news that's been spreading about CP being extended wouldn't be happening because I think that it might get too draggy and boring...16 episodes is very ideal, imo and since that was the original plan, why don't they just stick to it and forget about earning huge profits due to high ratings if it'll just sacrifice the beauty of the drama and the interest of the viewers...not another goong, please

I love how you put things into writing, that is the main reason i get hooked into reading your summaries. Thanks for your ever fast summaries, it is such a great help. Moreover, one can feel the emotions you put into your writing, it's as if you are really into it and i bet you really are, and so are we, the readers of your blog. Am i making any sense? hehe... Anyways, I love the progress of CP, i hope the ending wouldn't be like most of the korean dramas, which is always hanging by the end. Of course, EC and HG should end up together, I also think HG's grandmother will find out her true gender before HG does, I'm looking forward how things will turn up. By the way, I love the way HS kissed EC, although he seems like his not himself while doing this,he looks quite bewildered actually, sort of wondering why he did that but if he didn't why he shouldn't. At the same time, EC is as bewildered as he is, even if she used to like him, the kiss was unexpected. But you can tell that something is really going on with them, an air of chemistry that you can't deny between them both. Also, looking at them together the way they laugh and talk with each other there is really something, not only that HS is the only guy who can tell that she's a girl at first sight. For HG, he looks pretty lost somehow and there is no denying that he longs for EC's presence, and same goes for EC she longs for his presence like when they fought, at the end of the day they always make up, looks like they are really meant for each other. Whew! gosh my comment is this long already, am i making any sense? hehe..

and with this new development, eun chan has more to loose when her secret is revealed

i want it to b reveealed though, because i want GH and EC to b together but wat if once its revealed they cant b together? its goin to b heart breaking when eun chan's secret is revealed and GH will feel as if everything they had was a lie?
