    Did you just start watching this? You’ll find out soon enough that this drama is anything but makjang. And you’ll probably end up loving it for that.

      On episode 21 now, and yes I love how they handle all their problems like real people. I especially relate to the introverted Mi Young. She’s firm but with such a mushy heart. She’s totally adorkable! <3

      Definitely, but at the sametime I was so angry at Yoo Joo that I kind of wanted a whole redemption arc for her with the whole fam. But I’m satisfied with how it went through though.

        The family might still discover what happened between her and Mi Young. At least they will know about her mother I think.

          Yes, they might still. 😀 I’ll be excited if that happens. But I’m glad it wasn’t Mi Young who told Oppa. It shows just how generous and good hearted she truly is.

I’ve noticed over the years that the DB staff never verbally abuses a drama, even when they find it dissatisfying. So all those waiting for Javabeans to crash-and-burn BOTWG, good luck buddies. 😛

    Never outright verbally abused a drama but have stated many of their own unconstructive criticisms within their recaps T.T

      Yes, but I get the general feeling that people are especially hungry for their disapproval of that show rn. I find that sad. 🙁

      Unconstructive? How so?

      I don’t always agree with DB recappers and this happens like half the time. Still, it mostly boils down to different interpretations and preferences.

        Then maybe it is just about preferences and interpretations but I just can’t seem to get past it and get past the bad experiences of reading a recap when it’s in just about 90% of the recaps of a certain drama and start to see it as unconstructive for the fact that the comments are in 90% of the drama and the recapped refuses to just drop the drama and stop recapping it even when they have so much to nitpick about it T.T Maybe it’s me….

          I can see how you would think that with recapped shows like Dr. Stranger, but while sarcasm ususally increases, their commentary is still pretty fair. Of course, we are all going to have different tastes, so seeing someone bash something you love would suck. (I liked Cinderella’s Sister, but never found one nice thing said about it here lol)

Started binging Father Is Strange and:
– MY is so relateble.
– The middle class fam situation is so relateable.
– Oppa needs to grow a spine.
– Unni is BAD@SS!
– JH needs all the love in the world!

    Same. There were so good reviews that I had to start watching it. Albeit i started from the current episode which is in fact more than halfway through (ep 34) and am a little confused about the back story. Do you think the start is worth watching or not?
    I was surprised at how light and relateable the watch was. This is my first weekend drama and it was not at all nerve wracking like ive read about other weekend dramas that are supposed to be makjang. I didnt even notice when time passed by and the episode was already over. I believe even rom coms put a little pressure on my mind but this show didnt at all.

      Yes absolutely! You should definitely watch from the start! It will make much more sense that way! And yes it would be absolutely worth your time! 😀

      For me, it is so relate able because I come from a middle class family and I can relate to all three of the sisters one way or another! I can even see similarities between my parents and the drama parents! It’s one of the reasons I find this drama so good! ^^

Also, I now firmly believe that WS needs neither Ji Hoon nor Hyun Jae. She\’s kickass as she is ALONE.
Also, MC Drill is an epic BFF!
