Beanie level: Errand boy

Goblin’s garden update: the first batch is going to seed now but the second lot caught up and is still flowering. It has all supported lots of beneficial insects and kept the weeds at bay. Dda bong!

Equator Man: Sun-woo eventually leaves hospital. His friends encourage him to go to Seoul to learn Braille and get more help. They end up staying at Jang-il’s apartment. He meets Ji-won.

I’ve had instructions to post more cute Lee Hyun-woo pictures so here we go. Silver is best so we’ll start with that.

I’m further on in the story of Equator Man now but I really liked this picture of happier times for Sun-woo.

Moorim School totally reignited my love for Lee Hyun-woo, man. I get giddy every time I see his face now.

    13
    1

There definitely seems to be a thing for feet/shoes going on in Equator Man – not quite at the Bunuel level. I don’t think it’s PPL but I might be wrong. It is easy to get things wrong.

11
1

In Equator Man Sun-woo spends some time (years?) in a coma and is blind when he wakes up. Uhm Tae-woong is adult Sun-woo and Lee Jun-woo is adult Lee Jung-il still studying to be a prosecutor.

14
5

Sun-woo doesn’t believe his Dad killed himself and plans to petition the police to treat the death as murder. It ends badly for him.

16
3

Oh my gosh, is this where Sun-woo meets Chang-il at the beach??!

    8
    2

      Oops! I think I misspelled the name, I believe it’s Jang-il.

Yes. It’s afterwards. He somehow washes up on the shore and is still alive.

SPOILER: It’s Kim Sun Woo’s (Lee Hyun-woo) birthday and he’s on his way to meet Dad when he find’s his Dad’s body hanging from a tree. It’s treated as suicide as a note is found in the jacket pocket.

Love this skyline. Busan bromance.

No Breathing. The film I watched at the weekend with Seo In-guk and Lee Jong-suk.

6
2

Did you like it? I didn’t care much for the story I remember but both of them did their parts well! Also, a sucker for bromance and SIG and LJS so I enjoyed the movie a lot.

    1
    1

I enjoyed it. I’ve got a fear of water so I don’t enjoy swimming and I don’t breathe properly when I am swimming so it was interesting to find out there’s a no breathing technique! I thought they were both good in it and I always like a bromance so it was ok that there wasn’t so much story.

The soundtrack was crazy but the boys were good and it’s the same director as White Christmas.

23
7

crazy? you’re making me curious at how bad it can be, ha. I don’t know if I’ll watch this because UTW is in it tho I like everyone else, but is there any tracks you can link as an example? Or clips showing misused soundtracks? Is it as bad as “Love is the moment~~~~”

    1
    2

ps: I don’t know why, I really like the picture you used. Boys looked particularly handsome.

I’m thinking their megawatts smiles. I always think pple look best when genuinely happy and smiling.

I may also have chosen this because it goes dark quite quickly but I didn’t want to give too much away.

          2
          0

The background music was loud and distracting at times – strings and piano. Also Eric Clapton’s Layla a great song but it was jarring how they used it. Later on the two lads are in a fight and being chased and it sounded like a Coldplay song! I’ll see if I can link.

U had me @ White Christmas. I might have 2 check this drama out.

    3
    1

White Christmas is definitely one of my favourites. I think Equator Man used to be on Viki but isn’t there at the moment. Drama fever said it isn’t available in my region.

There’s just enough time for episode 1 of The Equator Man. It feels like it’s going to be quite melo so I’ll see how it goes.

Does this mean you stopped watching To the Beautiful You? lol.

eh, why does the shaggy hairdo unexpectedly looks good on him? lol.

I was JUST thinking about this show. I watched in when it aired and I **think** I liked it, but I don’t really remember. I remember liking certain scenes a lot, but can’t remember what they were. My memory is going as I get older.

Where is a good place to watch this show? I’m in the mood to watch a bromance between LHW and Siwan.

    1
    1

I found it on dramacool. I think they are the younger versions. Uhm Tae-woong is playing an older version of LHW’s character.

      3

The Equator Man!! ….. Some interesting characters in this one. Lee Bo-young is in this drama, in a very low energy performance, it was almost bizarre. I remember viewers commenting that it looked like she needed a B12 shot.

If you continue watching it, let us know what you think!

Yay! I finished the final episode.

Dr Stranger? Hahaha I finished this too when I got obsessed with LJS and til now I ship him with KSR. I never got on that first love train. I hope you enjoyed the madness lol

    2
    1

It was still irritating that I nearly finished it but didn’t. All done now! Kang So-ra was so much better than Jin Se-yeon so it was hard to buy into their eternal love.

I’m still thinking about the ending of Seven Day Queen. But meanwhile back at the mad world of Doctor Stranger I’ve made it to Episode 16.

Is this for the rewatch challenge?

I never actually finished it the first time! I think I got to Ep 15. I’ve just re-started from Ep 12 and read the earlier re-caps. Of course now I want to re-watch I Hear Your Voice.

    Mad world indeed! Lol

Do you think they had to go for a few bottles of soju?

      1
      1

Haha! No idea. ……. But I’m guessing it’s the writer who had one too many bottles of soju while he/she was writing this drama!

So far this week I’ve finished Forest of Secrets, Fight My Way and To the Beautiful You. I’ll finish Seven Day Queen tomorrow hopefully. Now it’s your turn Doctor Stranger.

14
31

You’re so brave for planning to watch Doctor Stranger 😮

    6
    2

I’m going to try. I just gave up before because it was so crazy. I can’t even remember where I got to but they had a competition going on so it was probably about Ep 15.

      0
      1

Didn’t they have more than just one competition ? Too many crazy things happened that I can’t remember :p

        2
        2

Yes. I think there was more than one competition because the first one didn’t work out how they wanted it to so they just said they’d extend it or they changed the rules or something similar. I’ve blanked a lot of it out. Seem to remember some scary teddies at some point.

          0
          1

It does ring a bell. Well I understood more about the hospital politics than the North Korean part. Scary teddies HAHA Something to do with his mother I think ?

            1
            0

I think I had to go for self-induced amnesia to cope with the drama. If only Kim Sabu had been there too!

          1
          2

HA! I thought the same! Doctor Stranger is one of those Dropped Flops (omg, I just came up w/ that one, too! *jots it down for later*) that I’d like to give another try just to torture myself see if I could get through it the second time. Maybe one of these days…

      1
      2

I watched until the end because I was still a newbie and wanted to finish it even if it was bad ha. I’m thinking of picking up When A Man Loves when I want to rage in front of my screen.

        1
        3

I haven’t seen that one. (Makes a note.)

It’s not something you should watch if you have high blood pressure. Trust me.

            2
            0

Oh. Ok. I’ll bear that in mind.

          2
          0

Omg, idk if my mom actually liked that drama, but she sure as heck LOVED Song Seung-heon in it. I’ve never seen it, but it’s definitely not my cup of tea aka not gonna go anywhere near a Shin Se-kyung drama and the former is quite meh, anyways. But this should definitely be a challenge, too! To re-watch a terrible show. Haha.

          0
          1

I dropped it because I didn’t want to see SSH’s character to be hurt and was mad at SSK’s character. I was too invested I guess haha.

            1
            0

I think there may well be an element of torture here! It’s a good example of good cast, good director, terrible writing. I seem to remember shouting “Why?” quite a lot. Anyway on a roll at the moment so best to go for it now. I even cut the grass, cleaned the workroom and finished my book.

        1
        2

Haha I wish you not to go crazy !

          1
          1

Thanks. It’s a shame @azzo1 is on a break because LJS just returned PHJ’s double eye blink over the operating table. Thank goodness he’s a genius surgeon.

            2
            0

Omg, that needs to be gif’d! Pwahaha!

          1
          0

Wohoo you are on a roll! Are you done with your LHW marathon?
Good luck with Doctor Stranger! You might need it 😛 I went into it to check how bad could it be! Though seriously, it is still LJS’s best performance for me however bad the show had been- and Kang So Ra- and Park Hae Jin!

    12
    1

No. Haven’t finished the LHW marathon yet. I’ll be back to continue that. I’m in that frame of mind to tackle stuff this week and I was really p***ed off at the time I was watching Doctor Stranger because I was invested in the main characters played by LJS PHJ and KSR. I’m very analytical and I just couldn’t see any logic most of the time so it was really frustrating.

      11
      1

Ha! You sound determined! I am looking forward to one of these “let’s tackle sh** today* moods for myself! I have a lotta things I should take care of! :p

        1

This is probably still a form of procrastination but moving in the right direction!

          5
          0

I actually didn’t really think you were actually talking about actually watching Doctor Stranger. Haha, all the power to ya! Jokes aside though, this drama’s cast was near perfect (w/ the exception of you-know-who), so if anything, I’d re-watch/give it another shot for the love of Lee Jong-seok, Park Hae-jin, and Kang So-ra! <333 Happy watching~! And good luck!

    2
    1

Thanks. I’ll need it. It will remind me how rare a show like Forest of Secrets is to have all three main elements working to perfection (writing, acting, direction) as I dissect the show with my viewer’s scalpel!

      1
      1

Ooh~ go go go dissect this show and lemme know what you find! I need to know what went wrong (it’s been so long, I forgot where it went wrong, haha). Don’t be a quack doctor! 😉

        1
        1

    why?

Yay. Finally watched the last three episodes of Fight My Way. It ended well.

I understand why LHW’s hair is red in this drama but why is it styled like this?

23

    Are you watching this?

And I guess the bowl haircut is to increase cute innocent SLS factor?

      4

Taking a break between finishing Forest of Secrets and getting back to Seven Day Queen. I’m gradually working my way through LHW movies and dramas.

      10
      1

this one is a good choice as a break between FoS and 7DQ in terms of atmosphere/tone if the brain is turned off. It had bad reviews on here, I’m surprised you’re taking it on out of all his works. Just lower all expectations and it should be ok. Hee. Good news is he’s the best thing in it.

        2
        2

LOL. Savage. I didn’t dislike it too much, perhaps cuz I didn’t take it seriously. Kang Ha neul was ok too.

          4
          1

I like him and I think he’s a good actor. I was just moaning about his haircut!

it’s kinda cute tho? I guess I got used to it in the end…

I love how much time we spend on DB discussing his hair. Haha.

    2

Pwahaha! HE’S SO CUTE HERE, THOUGH, OMG! <3 I MIGHT re-watch this show one of these days JUST for Lee Hyun-woo. Maybe.
