If I am ever going to give 2000$ for salvation it would happen only after I see this boat, check reviews on it, visit fiery pot and talk with other people on this boat of salvation.
Yap, I am cheap and illogical, but so is this price

Is anyone else surprised when drama character has normal, loving, middle-class parents?

Honestly, this types of incompetent parents, should lose custody of kids.

And the prize for most unfortunate character goes to….

Seok Dong Chul. Whole life ruined because he once agreed to help poor siblings and was simply a good person.

I want him to have an happy ending.

        1

He deserves it, not the “alive” ending but the “happy” one.
And even if they kill him I hope they wouldn’t give Sang-Hwan the happy one. He literally left his friend to rot in prison (and no, I wouldn’t accept that he couldn’t come because of Sang-Mi’s father, by the time he found him he was already late for court).

          1
          1

I still want a happy for SH under the condition of going through a “redemption” arc. The four friends reunited will be more satisfying than a broken friendship.

Any C-drama suggestions where the writer is more talented than 13 years old fanfic writer and heroes don’t jump two metres high?
(I HATED all C-dramas I watched, but costumes and actors are so pretty that I always want to give them another chance)

1

    Well..
‘When a snail falls in love’ and ‘Love me if you dare’ not bad imo..
one of my favest of all time – Nirvana in Fire – but heroes do jump two metres high here sometimes 🙂

    1

I will probably give a try to “When a Snail falls in love”, the name already sounds interesting.
Thanks for information about Nirvana, everyone praised it so much that I wanted to give it a try, I will never understand why heroes need to jump so high, it isn’t realistic and too weird to consider it cool.

“Rush to the Dead Summer” is good (just don’t watch the ending), “Silent Separation” a.k.a. “My Sunshine”, “Schemes Of a Beauty”, “General and I”, “Pretty Li Hui Zhen”, “Love Me If You Dare”, “When A Snail Falls In Love”, “Scarlet Heart” (season 1 only, plz), “Ode To Joy”, “Girl In Blue”, “Autumn’s Concerto” (this one is from Taiwan, but is still a “C-drama” lol), “Queen Of SOP”, “Sunny Happiness”

    1
    1

Wow, thanks for recommendation, I’ll probably check “when a snail falls in love” and “pretty Little Hui zhen”.
Oh and I will watch the ending of “Rush to the Dead Summer”, I have seen first episode, but the show was too shiny for my taste, now I am wondering just how bad its ending was….

      2

        You’re welcome!!
The ending wasn’t “bad”, it’s just not your typical happy ending, but in the overall scheme of things and when you think about the overarching theme of the drama, it makes sense 🙂

I loved, loved, loved and STILL love “Pretty Li Hui Zhen”, the C-remake of Korea’s “She Was Pretty” 😊 Dare I even say that I like it more than the original Korean version? I still go back to it from time to time when I am in a drama slump have no desire to watch anything lol My Top 3 dramas I turn back to rewatch during any drama slumps:
        1. Korea’s “Marriage Contract”
        2. China’s “Pretty Li Hui Zhen”
        3. Korea’s “Save Your Last Dance for Me”

I haven’t watched a whole lot of C-dramas, but In Time With You (我可能不会爱你) is one of my all-time favourite dramas (Kdramas included). The second leads are a little cliched, though still understandable, but it’s really the leads and their story that’s handled in an exceptional way.

Thanks for recommendation, I remember people praising it when Korean version was still airing, I’ll probably see it when I get time….And I’ll jump the second lead’s parts.

You should try watching the second leads parts! Because they interact with the leads a lot it reveals some things about the leads that’s good to know. But if it gets annoying then yes, use the fast forward button (:

The only problem with King In Love is that both guys fell in love with female lead 7 years ago when she was mourning her mother.

I feel like she’s cheating with the one Dae Hwi is tutoring lol my imagination though

Even without cheating, it is kinda obvious why she dates him.
This part him me hard, my ex-friend as well had tons of people around him who just happened to need notes/his help on exams. Worst part is that he understood that, he once even mentioned that in the end everyone asks for his help.

Honestly, I am starting to understand why second female leads are …..not the nicest people. Imagine how would you feel if all guys in your universe liked one girl.

I think it would have been better if in Lookout our psycho was actually innocent, because….

5
2

We have tons of dramas about good guys fighting for justice, because you see, rules can’t help and police is full of idiots. In reality those reasons why they couldn’t shut Shi wan in prison were valid, dying kid can’t make right judgment, mother who lost her child can’t think straight and one photo doesn’t prove anything. There was a high chance that Shi wan really ended up being innocent. Plus, it isn’t like all psychos end up being killers (ironically, they often become doctors).
Imagine, how cool it would be if by the end of the drama Soo-Jin achieved her goal and destroyed Shi-Wan’s life, but BAM, he is innocent and now she can’t change anything, all because her mother didn’t properly looked for her daughter. Her whole actions were dedicated by her guilt and sadness.
Main message would be that rules are there for reason and playing Batman in 21th century’s country might not always be a good idea.

I am thinking from a way different angle: guilty, but a bit older. College or something. I couldn´t feel real threat from a high school kid. a twenty-something would be way eerier in the sense of Yu Na´s case as well. Or seducing a high school girl and kidnapping her. and also more realistic. The son and the father should have been estranged / at total odds, the sons´ rivalry would have been better if he was older, but turned crazy after his parents covered up his multiple crimes. I would have given him some guilt as well. feeling guilty but doing things anyway, even when he tries to resist his urges.
turning out innocent would deflate the whole balloon.

what also would have added to the tension was if Yoon Seung-Ro had actual blood on his hands and that´s what turned the son mad.

Can anyone recommend me a drama where romance is there but the story isn\’t about that/it\’s not the main plot? Japanese dramas are also welcome.

2
7

You might want to give Radiant office a try!
The plot is more to personal growth of the characters in theworking world and the romance is subtle and low key 😊

I Remember You. If you haven’t seen it already. It’s more mystery-thriller than romance.

    6

    Chief Kim
    Angry Mom
    Signal

In all three, the romance might be too much not there. There are just very small doses of it, but they are really good shows.

I actually wish Eun-Soo wouldn’t end up becoming villain. She is no saint and has her own dark side but a lot of us have it and sometimes we CAN keep it inside us.

Personnaly I would love it if she was the big villain aka the mastermind behind of all this. She would definitely earn my admiration. It would be so badass.

    2
    1

I feel like it would probably go that way (Don-Jae’s question mid fight was left unanswered). On another note, big villain or not she definitely qualifies as a more layered character than 80% of female lead in dramas. I am already thankful for that.

So do I. She is not some kind of damsel in detress, she is smart and sassy and I love that. Besides, Shin Hye Sun is really doing a good job with her. I have become a fan.

        0

I like how she is more layered than the usual women character we got in dramaland. I don’t really mind whether she end up as the big baddy or not. And I’m definitely lapping up all her scenes with Shi-mok. Sparks sure is flying.

    1

In dramaland we have tons of flower boys, swoony romantic leads, well dressed chaebols, but for some reason, I now think Shi-Mok is the cutest lead ever.

Students have it worse
Five part time jobs?At least you don\’t have to use brains
Problems with being a king?At least you don\’t have to worry about finding a job

Have a jerk boss? At least, you have a job
You are a jerk lonely chaebol? At least you have time to feel lonely
Trying to persuade your dream? At least, you are in dramaland, in worst case scenario you will get dream job and THEN leave this job to have kids with your childhood friend/first love

I need a drama about students. Depressing one. Misaeng type. With a little bright hope at the end of the tunnel. Which is Far. Very far, 4 years far away

They were passing only one exam and from what I got Noryangjin was supposed to help them in that, it was institute not university.
The only University I have seen in dramas was in CITT and after four episodes show used it as a place were you could find Joon and tons of creepy people

          1

I always end up shipping leads in dramas which aren’t about romance….can you blame me? Guys in thrillers have the worst luck in dramaland, and in best case scenario their happy ending is surviving.
