Still watching The Bride of the Water God and so far…I don’t hate it. I’m surprised I’m actually liking it right now after that rough start. Btw, Nam Joo Hyuk is master of mouth twitching LOL

I live-watched BotWG and I didn’t hate it.. It was okay. It made me go: Okay… Pretty people.. That’s okay.. Hmm.. That’s it? lol 😂 I haven’t watched anything after it 😂

Yeah. I guess it’s because I had such low expectations to begin with. And that 1st episode was so bad I laughed. But I’d rather it be something that makes me laugh because it’s bad and not angry because it’s bad.

The first few eps, NJH’s fish-out-of-the-water scenario I enjoyed so much 😊 His deadpan voice everytime he claims he’s king yet powerless was entertaining to watch for me. I dunno what ep you are at so I don’t wanna spoil anything for you. Tell ne what you think after you finish! 😊

I finished I Remember You. That ending. I don’t know what to think. Throughout the drama, it was weird seeing murderers and the family members of the victims just chilling together ._.

There were so many awkward teas/dinners in that show. I loved how everything would look so normal on the surface but there was this unspoken tension just underneath.

I loved IRY! 😊 I loved how the ambiguity of the killers’ mind (PBY and CWY did such a great job here)

I recommend going to ep 16 recap… you will find quite a lot food for thought there! Great review and then interesting discussions in the comments thread..

I Remember You was a good drama with a cast who did a great job. That ambiguous feeling elicited by the ending is most likely by design. The drama offered points to discuss throughout, while the viewer is watching. The ending is such so that the discussion can continue well after it’s over. At least that’s the impression I got.

I loved this drama! Honestly those dinner scenes were to die for (hur)! So much subtext, so much underlying threat and hostility. But above it all, a meeting of minds. Granted some creepy ass minds those were. But a genuine meeting of minds between 3 people who are not quite so different, and yet the little differences they do have are what separates from from another. Man from monster. It makes for some riveting conversations. And man, that stellar acting from all sides but specially from Park Bo Gum, Won‑Young Choi the creepy ajusshi, and D.O/ Do Kyung-Soo.

I’ve been watching I Remember You and The Bride of the Water God. I had dropped the latter before because it reminded me of The Girl Who Sees Smells but so far it hasn’t made me angry…yet. :/

What K-drama should I watch next?
I like romance mixed with action and strong female leads.
I love Healer, Kill Me, Heal Me, and The Legend of the Blue Sea. They are my top 3.

    Healer <3
It is perrrrfect for what you want!
Though, mentally strong female lead, not physically.

For physically, Legend might be the better option or something else entirely.

Those are my top 3, meaning I have seen them and I love them. Maybe I should clarify that XD

      1

Lol sorry! I didn’t read it properly! 😛
I would say City Hunter for Healer vibes,
I Remember You- not much action or romance, but a lot of thrill and a strong female lead. And Seo In Guk and Park Bo Gum!
        Heartless City was good too.
Some others- Signal, Suspicious Partner (strong leads, cute romance, the story went a lil cray cray towards the end though)

        1

          Awesome, thanks!
I’ve seen City Hunter…it’s in my bottom 5. I hated it…worst female lead. I call it poor man’s Healer lol

          1
          4

Hahha… did you watch it after Healer? Because many who watched Healer after CH called H a jazzed-up version of CH 😛
I like CH but Healer is love!

            1
            0

Agreed. I don’t hate it enough to send it to the bottom of the list but worst female lead and worst chemistry ever. They looked like silly siblings taunting each other and it started to disgust me near the end.

And I didn’t watch it after Healer either. I watched them each right after they ended airing.

            0

Yeah I watched it after Healer unfortunately. But still Kim Na Na is one of the worst characters I’ve seen. So disappointing. And the only move they practice is flipping someone over their shoulder LOL

Did you watch Seven Day Queen? Not a lot of action but lots of tension between the brothers. And the romance was sweet.

I haven’t seen that one. I’ve watched 3 historical k-dramas and I enjoy them enough but they always end up pretty low on my list.

    – “You From Another Star” for another Jun Ji Hyun drama (with Kim Soo Hyun!! Overrated, but well-deserved, I think)
    – “She Was Pretty” (just ignore Hwang Jung Eum being all cray-cray and overly excited for everything in the first 2-3 episodes)
    – “Heartless City” was soooooo good!! Mind you, if you are used to a drama with a lighter feel, “Heartless City” is anything but ‘light’…. It has the Korean underground drug world as it’s backdrop XD
    – “I Remember You” is a crime-fighting drama that has it’s rom-com cute moments, but it’s definitely not a rom-com all the way
    – “Seven Day Queen” is another recommendation with a strong female lead, if you’ve not already watched it, and it’s actually in my Top 5 for sageuks =)

    Happy watching ~!!!

Iv’e seen You From Another Star (didn’t like it so much…couldn’t relate to the characters) and She Was Pretty (it was cute. I liked it <3). I haven't seen the others. Thanks!

Yes! Another fan 🙌🏽😍 It’s sooo good. One of my favorite couples. They are individuals with goals of their own who love & support each other. Yes I could have done a little less of the doctors/the gymnast and more of the squad.
So how often have you been saying Swag in your head?

I’ve been watching Weightlifting Fairy because it’s in so many people’s top 10. I haven’t watched it before because of the subject matter, but I can relate to the lead & the love stories are cute <3

Yes!! Honestly if I need a pick me up I’ll still look up a clip which may lead to an episode. It’s too adorable and really relatable.

They needed a conflict between Eun Ho & Tae Woon (because that always happens at some point). I feel like they just randomly threw one in there. It didn\’t make much sense & lasted all of 2 seconds >.<

Ra Eun Ho would make a great killer in Dead By Daylight. She’s an expert at cutting people off during a chase.

Watching Beautiful Mind.
There\’s gonna be a twist and it\’ll turn out that this guy\’s the grim reaper. Geez…whenever someone gets near him they suddenly faint and need surgery LOL

Began watching Beautiful Mind. I feel like I need a lot of brain power for this one. I’m constantly yelling ‘WTH is going on?!’ Not the show to watch when you don’t feel well XD

I finished Oh My Ghostess. My only critique would be that, for only having 16 episodes, they spent too long on the romantic story line in the 1st half. It got really interesting around episode 10.

One of my favourite shows 💛💛 I rewatched this countless times.

I’m not Park Bo-young’s biggest fan but I do like that show. It was one of my intro K-drama dramas. There were some really good moments in there. Thinking about that show now, Jo Jung-suk is a freaking chameleon. Im Ju-hwan is pretty dang good as well.

“Oh My Ghostess” is the reason that I am considering if I should watch “Bride of the Water God”

I still have to finish this drama. I have like 4 episodes so I really should do it.

i stopped at episode 9 – the story was tipping the romance too much onto the ghostess side..

The writing of Kim Seulgi’s character drove me insane. She, and everyone really, did such a great job acting wise, but the writer just dropped the ball on Seulgi’s character growth and backstory and it became a trial for me to watch. Of course I stopped watching when I think things started moving forward so I may go back and finish…one day.

Really? I thought the opposite. She was my favorite part of the story. But I think it’s because I can relate to her.

          0
          1

I love her demeanor and her personality, but wish they had moved her beyond her constant seducing of Jo Jung Suk’s character faster. They spent soooo many episodes with her doing that and just that. She’s a complex character and so fun, but it just irritated me that she was just the horny ghost for so long. Plus her seduction antics, while humorous at times, could also be borderline uncomfortable. I’m probably reading too much into it, but it rubbed me the wrong way.

That was exactly my problem. I thought ‘This isn’t gonna work. We don’t even know who the real Na Bong Sun is…’ But it turns around. Really, you stopped 1 episode too soon. Plus, I was really into the ghosts story. I found it to be really sad.

I’m thinking of doing a bottom 5 also (which I have strong feelings about XD).

Yay for Healer and Kill Me, Heal Me! Healer is my no. 1 and Kill Me, Heal Me in my top 10! 🙂

Yay! You should definitely do a bottom 5 or bottom 10…

From your top 10, I definitely love Secret Garden and also really enjoyed Healer and Cinderella & Four Knights

    1
    1

😀 Have you seen all the dramas in my list?
I don’t think I’ve seen enough to make a bottom 10. I would be including k-dramas that aren’t all that bad.

      1
      1

Nope…I haven’t seen School 2013, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, The K2, and Heirs. From those four, I do have Heirs on my watch list so will probably watch it sometime soon.

I have seen the others you mentioned besides those though 🙂

        1

I don’t know what genre you prefer, but if you like comedy you gotta see Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. If you’re into action, then The K2 is a must. School 2013 is a drama about friendship & sacrifice (a lot of bromances).

          0
          1

I love rom-coms, I haven’t watched SWDBS because I keep hearing about the murder plotline and I’m not much into the crime dramas. Although I am currently watching the mystery/crime drama I Remember You/Hello Monster to try to branch out into other genres. I’ll consider School 2013 since I loooove Lee Jong Suk! 😀 And I enjoy a good friendship/bromance story

After watching 30 K-Dramas (right now I\’ve seen 28) should I do a top 10 video? Or even a worst 10 video? Or should I just throw my favorites out there now?
[Can\’t add Heal Me, Kill Me to My Shows D:]

I’m about to hit 30 completed shows this week when Queen for Seven Days ends…how long have you been watching?

I’ve been watching for 1.5 years consistently 😀
I’d like to know your top 10! Out of 30, I only have top 5 favorites…I’m a bit picky

    1

I’ve been watching about the same amount of time as you XD. It was in the middle of Uncontrollably Fond when I 1st began. I watched Uncontrollably Fond and Heirs at the same time. Now I’m on my 29th with Oh My Ghostess. (I think my bottom 10 will get me a lot of hate lol)

      1
      1

ah yes I remember the Uncontrollably Fond hype (haven’t seen that one though) but Dramafever was like releasing the subbed episodes like 1 hour after they aired in Korea

Anyway my bottom 10 would get me a lot of hate too (I have dropped some very popular dramas). Have you dropped any?

        0
        1

I try not to do that…but yeah I forgot about those. I’ve only saw the 1st episode of Descendants of the Sun (the lead male annoyed me & they fell in love in the 1st episode >.>) I only saw the 1st episode of Vampire Prosecutor (Boring…& the Call of Duty song at the end got me). And recently I watched the 1st episode of The Bride of The Water God and I wasn’t impressed, I might try again later.

          1
          1

I really try not to drop dramas either which is why I give every kdrama at least 2 episodes to impress me…tbh I didn’t like Descendants of the Sun, I thought it was boring and the villains were so annoying but I did end up finishing it after putting it on hold for a while.

I am watching Bride of the Water god right now and well it’s definitely not as good as I had hoped it would be but there are things I like which is why I’m still watching.

      LOL XD
Awesome, thanks. I don’t think my top 10 will be changing any time soon…(although the order changes a bit depending on what shows I can’t get out of my head) so maybe I should do a top 10 now.

      0
      0

Oh yes do that! I love Top 10s and Bottom 10s kinda list!

And don’t worry, you won’t get hate! People who don’t agree with you might ignore your post and people who think the same will join forces. There might be some who partially agree, and I am sure it would be interesting to discuss why you liked/ disliked something they didn’t. I have had many such interesting discussions with fellow beanies.

Usually DB is a peaceful place where people agree to disagree despite the recent downvoting issue.. (sorry for the long comment)
