Beanie level: Errand boy

Haha, this part was really cute! Eyeliner teach kept shushing the other two teachers and telling them not to be biased and show favorites, but he’s obviously so proud of and rooting for his students whenever they win a match and/or make it on the board. I love how supportive and caring everyone at Moorim is towards each other. The friendships are really the heart of the show.

Love the teachers in this drama. This is what drama teachers should be like. Reminds me so much of Hogwarts.

    1

Yes, I agree. Luckily, we do get a good amount of nice and supportive teachers in high school K-dramas. 🙂 But the Moorim teachers–they were always so supportive from beginning to end, w/ the exception of you-know-who. Heh.

I wish I can but no time to rewatch as I’m watching 6 dramas already:C
        Too much on my plate:/

Aw yeahh!! I’ll look forward to your posts on TLAHL then:D

Omo! Which ones?! That used to be me, but nowadays, I honestly don’t know how to do that anymore–juggle a bunch of dramas all at once. Haha. But yeah, you definitely have your plates full. Next time!

          Hee! Kk!

            Suspicious Partner (slow progress, lol!)

Yea it’s really hard juggling them! I wanna watch Falsify too lol..started uni 2 wks ago and there’s just no time to watch ALL the shows that are airing. Just gotta be wise and pick and choose!
How many shows do you watch at a time?

            14
            0

Wowza! That’s a lot! My goodness, kudos and all the power to you for juggling so many AND going to uni! What are you studying? 🙂
I like your idea of being wise and pick and choose. Haha, can’t be greedy and watch everything, even though dramaland is making that really hard for us by churning out drama after drama. Sigh…

I used to be able to follow like a handful of shows at a time, but lately, I’m not jumping at all the new shows like I used to. I’m taking my time to get to them. Like, I just checked out Reunited Worlds and I’m loving it so far, so I’m gonna try to catch up w/ that one. I also need to start watching Moonlight Drawn By Clouds! Haha. I’d like to watch more shows and step up my drama game, though. Hehe.

          4
          1

I know right!! *pats self on back* 😊
I’m in my final semester of my teaching degree. I can’t wait to stop studying and go out there and teach already!
Agreed! All the upcoming dramas all sound interesting! It’s so hard to choose which ones to watch first so I end up watching everything on offer! Ha! Why wasn’t it like this before? Have my tastes changed and I suddenly wanna dip into all the genres? Or maybe because I seem to recognise a lot more actors than I used to…and now I have to watch it for them!
            sighhh~ the dilemma!

That’s clever! How do you stop yourself from attacking the shows as soon as they begin airing? Lol, like me! I can’t help it!
Ooh good you chose a good drama to live watch. I’m really enjoying RW too!
Ooh have fun watching MDBC! It was fun…when it was fun at the beginning..

Is there a reason you can’t watch more shows? Do you work? Or do you just wanna focus on one show at a time?

            4
            0

Oh wow, why does that sound familiar? Maybe it’s ‘cause we’ve talked about this and I just forgot? Anyways, that’s awesome! Have you been able to do any internships/shadowing? I can’t wait for you to go out there and teach already, too!

Ooh, that’s a good question. Yeah, I definitely think it has to do w/ you knowing more actors now, your faves being in all these new dramas, and probably how K-dramas in general are doing a really good job at making any genre attractive. Haha.

Haha, I’m not doing it on purpose, though. Like, I’m literally just really lazy to start new shows nowadays. Oh, and yes, I also have a 9-5 job M-F, so I don’t have as much time for dramas like I did in the past. I also try to have some sort of a life, too, so more time away from my precious dramas! Haha. Pooey. It’s nice to only have one show to focus on, but I think I can definitely handle a few shows at a time. We’ll see.

          1
          1

Yeah, maybe. Can’t remember if I told you or not lol..too many dramas to keep track off, so any post conversations don’t stay in my head for too long. Hehehe
We don’t have internships as such in this course. But yeah I’ve been on practicums. I have my final practicum this semester (late August); so basically I’d go to a school and be assigned a class and a mentor teacher and I’d have to teach that class for six weeks (first week would be observation wk). It’s exciting but also daunting at the same time, lol! And I’d have to put my dramas (and DB, sadly) on pause:(

Ah ok! Yeah, life is busy! Some of my friends back in high school used to watch K-dramas, but dropped it as soon as they got to uni. I’m the only one still hanging around lol. But I think when it comes to work it’ll be harder to follow 6-7 shows…so it’s good you’re keeping it to a minimum.
If you do follow more than that, I’m sure we’ll all know thanks to your posts;D XD

            1
            0

Oh, I feel you. I lose track of my conversations on here, too. I feel bad, but I’m glad Beanies are very understanding of my terrible memory. Haha.

Oh wow, there ya go. That’s great! It’s always helpful to be able to put your knowledge to the test and utilize and apply it to rl. It’s the best way to know if something’s really for you or not. I’ll have to remember to ask you about the practicum when the time comes. Best of luck to you! What grade would you like to teach?

Even if I’m not watching a lot at a time, K-dramas are meh lyfe, man, it’ll always be IN my life. Haha. I can’t imagine my life w/o it, actually. We’ve been in a very serious relationship, you see.
And yes! Haha, you know me and my habits well enough by now. Yes, you’ll definitely know when and what I’m watching bc I’m always itching to share!

          1
          1

Heh! …and my terrible memory. ;D

Yep, definitely! I’ll let you know if I survive or not at the end of prac haha. Then I’ll know for sure if it’s for me. XD And thank you! I need all the luck:D
I don’t mind actually…but I’d rather the younger grades. I’m doing primary teaching so Kindergarten to year 6. I got year 1 for my previous prac so I wanna try like years 3 or 4. But we won’t always get our choices.
I just hope it’s not year 5 and 6 because I don’t know if I’m ready yet lol. And they’re kinda scary! Hehehe.

Ahhh ok! When did you start watching K-dramas? Or are you Korean and it’s just been in the family? *kekeke*

            Yes, that I do hehe;D

Ooh~ interesting. Haha, I’m like 99% sure I never participated in TLAHL recap threads. I actually went back and checked, and other than a post (or maybe two?) on news articles of TLAHL (before it came out), I didn’t see myself in the actual recaps. I missed out on some crazy parties, I know that! Haha.

Nooo I think she started it and then hasn’t finished it for some reason? I’m sure she’ll correct me in her morning though

          2
          1

Yes, that’s exactly right! I started watching it and I think I even got pretty far, too, maybe ep 5-7? Idk what happened. I guess I lost interest?

            2
            0

Not in its entirety, no. I started watching it and I don’t remember what ep I stopped on, but I suddenly lost interest/got lazy, so I dropped it. I think the last scene I remember was when Joy’s character and second male lead was on the rooftop together, talking about how he wanted to produce (?) her and her band (?), and Hyun-woo’s character sees them talking from downstairs. Haha, explaining that reminds me of the DB segment “Name That Drama.”

          2

            should be episode 4?

@gusdk Ah, is it? Well, there ya go! Ep 4 it is. Thank you! 🙂 I’ll watch from the beginning when I do pick it back up again, though, because I’m weird like that. Also I have a horrible memory, so I’d like a refresher.

Well yes, of course that’s enough, but getting paid would be nice, too. Haha. That’s really my dream job–to get paid to watch/talk/share K-dramas. In an ideal world~ but yeah, I love doing this and the fact that ppl aren’t complaining about my excessive posts and actually loving it really is enough. 🙂 I also love talking about my fave moments, too, so it makes me happy to see comments like yours on the posts I share.

Okay that was definitely a Bo Gum laugh! How are they not even related!!

      25
      1

LOL! I totally see it! Idk, man, they’re practically twins. I really need to see them as brothers one day. Preferably soon. Lite nao. They’re both free, no? Drama gods! Do you hear my cries!?

        16
        2

Sadly the leagues are different.. PBG is a big star now, so LHW will only play second fiddle next to him.. which I don’t think he will do anymore… so this dream might not materialize sadly!

          7
          1

Aw, no… I actually think it could happen! There are lots of instances where a “bigger star”/seasoned actor takes second lead and leaves the main lead for another actor. I can totally see that being the case for both Bogummy and Hyun-woo. They could both be the main leads, but I don’t think either of ’em would mind being second lead next to the other (probably talking more about Hyun-woo here because Bogummy IS The It Boy after all). It might not happen soon, but I wouldn’t write it off completely. 🙂

            10
            0

I hope you are right. LHW has done many secondary character roles but I have a feeling he won’t do it next to PBG… like anyone older would work but Bogummy is same age (3 months younger even) and Koreans are age-conscious people…

Plus he has already done 2 shows as the main lead, granted they were not ratings success but still lead roles count.

And yes you are right- Bo Gum is the IT boy so he wouldn’t even be offered a role where he has to play second fiddle unless it’s with someone older and famous

I would love to see them together of course! I would even take a long-ish cameo or an advertisement! 😊

          10
          1

Ooh yes, cameos, CFs, and hey, there’s even movies they could be in together!

            I didn’t think about the age-conscious thing, so hmm… idk… we’ll just have to see. 🙂

I’m just ready to see the boys’ comeback project/drama. 👍🏼

Everyone probably knows by now, but I’d still like to express my thoughts and make my own celebratory post about the newly removal of the downvote button. Well, good riddance! It’s a shame that some people abused it and used it out of spite, bringing about a lot of confusion from Beanies and just plain negativity, which is definitely not the kind of community we all know and love that is Dramabeans. Does that make sense? Oh well, y’all know what I mean. We love you, DB, and thank you for constantly working your butts off and making this the best place evar! 👍🏼👌🏼

So… I finished Moorim School.

Boy, was it a wild ride. I’m just glad the fight for the chimpanzee is finally over, my boys are together and they’re happy and smiley again, and just, overall happy happy ending all around! It was all tied up in a neat lil’ bow. Will be posting photosets from my fave parts later because 1.) Taking screenshots of my fave moments in a K-drama has become my side job, and 2.) Y’all like ’em, right? Well, y’all like Lee Hyun-woo. I know, I know.

20
18

    ‘chimpanzee’ HAHAHAHA

Wooohooo! You finished!!! I’ve missed your updates about it so yayyy for more photosets 😛

    14
    1

LOL! Literally, every time they bring up the damn “Chintamani,” I’m just like, “Oh boy, okay, here we go~ 🙄😒” Haha, they literally talk about it in like, every ep, and yet I still had to look up the spelling! Anyways, yes, WOOT WOOT~! I did, sicarius, I did! And HA, jokes aside, I actually enjoyed it from beginning to end, so no need to use that one screenshot of Soon-deok’s face! YAY (!) for you actually enjoying my Moorim posts! 😊😘😁 I’ve got a couple dedicated to you, so be on the Lookout! 😉😏

      13
      1

Oh yes, it’s SUUUPER important, chingu, it just HAD to mentioned so much… 😉 Haha
It’s so confusing too because the Romanization of it in the subtitles is not even what they say in the drama??

I thought you might hahaha. I know, shock horror but yes I do enjoy them haha. You pick all the best bits so I can forget all the things I didn’t like 😛
Pfffft don’t pun at me… (but I will not to worry lmao)

        4
        2

LOL! No kidding! 😂 And dude, when they finally put it together and found it, what did it mean that they saw their own reflections in the thing (it was like a big, shiny rock, lol)? I need to check out the last recap because I was like, “… okay???” Haha. Whatever, Show. And lol, yes! They say something totally different! I just assumed they translated it literally?

I was waiting for the moment to come when I’m like, “Ah, yes, this is what sicarius was warning me about. Boo!” But nope. Lol!
And aw, shucks! I make you rethink your initial feelings about the show, huh? Shhh~ don’t say it. Haha, I know, I know, why post about the chimpanzee shanigans when we’ve got an epic bromance and wonderful friendships goin’ on?
Was gonna say, “too soon?” to the pun. 🙃 Btw, still reading your essay! 😅🙈

          7
          4

It wasn’t recapped fully on here. It was dropped at like episode 3 or something… :/ I think it’s supposed be some uhm… ‘inner strength’ ‘you are the power’ or ‘there is no big powerful shiny rock that gives you everything you have to do it yourself’ erm kind of bullshit etc, but it wasn’t done very well…

Hahahaha I mean, I can give you a Lookout length essay if you want but I don’t think either of us really want that… 😛 😛
Well nooo… oh you told me not to say it… I’ll say it anyway. No you didn’t, but you did remind me of the funny bits and what I DID like about it and how much I love Seon Duk and Sun Ah.

Idk… it’s a tricky one, I only occasionally like puns, so my reaction more like ‘really why’ rather than ‘ma lookout feels o no’…
It’s long, take your time, although I’m looking forward to your comments on it 😀

            4
            0

Ah ‘chintamani’.. I had gladly forgotten that! Another example of taking an exotic (Indian) name without doing much research..

So they saw their own reflection? Maybe it was like Kung Fu Panda where the dragon scroll was simply a mirror- basically saying the true power is within you instead of in an external source, you just have to find and utilize it..

            11
            0

“true power is within you instead of in an external source” < ah yes that's a much nicer way of saying it, yes that…

            6
            0

I took it to mean it was like a mirror to show them they had the power within them.

            7
            0

WHAT!? Lol! Wae~~~??? Eh, I know wae. 😔 Well, I can guess. 😆 Will look through the tags on here later and see what happened.
And lawl, THAT makes a lot of sense! Yes! Okay, I get it now. That was simple and idk why I didn’t get it right away when I saw it, but I guess it’s because I was just so done w/ it and the boys distracted me. Law, excuses.

HA! Nah, no thanks! I like that Moorim left a good impression on me overall and will not let you change that! 😝
Well, I’m glad I was able to remind you of the good parts! 👍🏼 There were many! 😁😏

Lol @ “really why” 🙈 Because I couldn’t help myself. Had a feeling you’re kinda over it since you wrote a friggin’ multiple-page essay on it!

@obsessedmuch, I honestly was surprised that “Chintamani” was a real word and an actual thing. 😬 (This dongsaeng’s still learning, unnie!) Will have to do some research, myself.

Yes, they saw themselves! Haha, love the Kung Fu Panda reference! I think you and sicarius are exactly right! Now I love that message 👍🏼👏🏼, even though it ended up being totally anticlimactic. So glad I have you guys to explain all this Moorim School shenanigans to me and joining me on this magical ride. Pwahaha.

          5
          2

I was a little sad too tbh because I like reading recaps. But idk it wasn’t popular on here when it aired? And they had less recappers back then. Now they can cover most everything.

Hahahaha that falling slo mo off the cliff just got to you huh 😉

Hahaha it’s okay I don’t really wanna write it either 😛 So you’re safe. Stay in the happy place.

Just imagine me saying it deadpan and sarcastically, it’s how I react to most puns pfft. Over it and yet not over it you know. I’m at peace with it. Because, yeah well… 8 pages does that to you.

Didn’t know it was a real thing either. You can bet I’m gonna lose myself in Wikipedia now. Wonder how far we’ll get.

(Totally anticlimactic like I KNOW Shi Woo was tryin’ solve it with no fighting and all but … I liked the action scenes…)

Been thinking @obsessedmuch– looked up re. the Chintamani, and it is a traditional object in both Hinduism and Buddhism, yes?
It’s possible, since Korea has a strong Buddhist history, that they do know what they’re referencing. Not that Wikipedia is the greatest accurate source of knowledge but “The mani (jewel) is translated in Chinese ruyi or ruyizhu 如意珠 “as-one-wishes jewel” or ruyibaozhu 如意寶珠 “as-one-wishes precious jewel”. Ruyibaozhu is pronounced in Japanese nyoi-hōju or nyoi-hōshu 如意宝珠. Ruyizhu is pronounced in Korean yeouiju 여의주.”
My guess is there is a Korean version, and that’s what they were trying to incorporate into the show.

Ooh. You finished it then. I enjoyed it all the way through actually. Although they inevitably had a tough job to cram the last planned 8 episodes into 4 it still ended well. Waiting for the onslaught of pictures now.

    1

I did! Now when are we gonna go glamping at Moorim Peak? 😉 And yay for us enjoying it all the way! Haha. It was an easy and fun watch from beginning to end, I thought, even when it tried to be serious, I was like, “Okay, whatever, this too shall pass.” Haha. And oh yeah, it DID have ep cuts! Pooey. I would’ve liked to see more Chi-ang and Sun-ah being a cute couple together and an actual wedding from Shi-woo and Soon-deok, hello! Will be posting soon!

      2
      2

Maybe some more scenes with the two dads. Some more music. No more scenes with the monk and the dark force wheelchair guy though.

        1
        1

Lol @ “dark force wheelchair guy.” Yes! Those baddies stayed for too long. Loved the two dads. <33 They're so cute and I love that they're an older version of Shi-woo and Chi-ang. Haha.

          1

Let the glamping begin. How shall be organise it?

By the way on Viki subs ‘chimpanzee’ is Cheon Ui Joo.

Ah, now that sounds more like how they pronounce it in the drama! Cool cool.

Last one. LMAO! I keep laughing at this screenshot because it just looks like Chi-ang has lost control and is attacking Sun-ah w/ a bamboo stick and sunbae is just dancing in the background.

Too precious. Like you could fight with Bogummy over who’s more righteous honestly.

    13
    1

Ahaha, Bogummy again!? You’re making me really want to see them in a project together. As brothers. And I wonder if Lee Hyun-woo is a rl angel like Bogummy, too?

      12
      2

Yes apparently I have Bogummy on the brain… not really, I have a Do Han shaped hole there instead. 😛
        Yesss same! That’d be fantastic.
Funnily enough I haven’t seen LHW on almost anything outside of dramas… >.> So I wouldn’t know.

        5
        3

          “Dohan shaped hole”
          😂😂😂 awww
I can’t believe you wrote 9 pages on that!
I had a quick read and it’s so indepth lol
I loved your analysis on Do han! He’s my fav character too! And KYK did an amazing job portraying him!

Also, ‘fire extinguisher, window and mum’s a detective’ made me lol so badly! 😂😂
Let’s just write it of as her not thinking clearly!

With the dad being framed as a spy…you’re right, I don’t they said why. But even though they didn’t, I didn’t really care as much. I understand Do han’s side of things (why he had to get revenge for his dad), but I wish we had seen the dad being a dad for Do han. This would have made their connection stronger and it would’ve made me root for Do han to actually get his revenge! I was more invested in Su ji getting her revenge on Shi wan for her daughter’s death.

          2
          6

            8 pages…not 9.

            2
            0

It’s trueeee!!! I dunno why but it really seemed to affect me badly that show mmm
Hehehe… hi, welcome to my brain. I did warn you all.
Did you read it all or just skimmed? If you didn’t I don’t blame you… it’s a long read. I do wonder if anyone will read the whole thing…

Hahahaha I was skimming recap comments and apparently I wasn’t the only one who got frustrated by that!

I guess KYK just did all those awful emotions so well I didn’t feel I needed to see him with his father, that scene with him at the prison-ward was enough, or at least, it satisfied me.
I don’t care as much as some things re. them never explaining the spy thing, but I think I’m always gonna want more from that show, even though I got a lot anyway.

            2
            0

LOL! I read the first two pages, skipped to read about Do han and the just finished reading all 8 pages!
            Phewwww! *wipes imaginary sweat off*

Yea you’re right, there was a lot of frustration going on, especially about the way Do Han died. It made sense that he died to protect Su Ji, however, the lead up to it could have been done better. You mentioned that it had to do with directing and I completely agree. That scene could have been woven tighter instead of the characters pretty much saying ‘you die’ ‘no, I die’, as you pointed out. And yes, basically it was the last two episodes that suddenly threw all logic out the window and have characters suddenly act uncharacteristically. Se won’s mum especially pissed me off. I understand that she was desperate, but like you said, she’s a detective for god’s sake! I was so hoping that she had talked to Su Ji prior to dragging her to the building Shi wan wanted them to go to. I was watching it and thinking: ‘she’s smart; she won’t just let Su ji die like that; they must have planned something; come on, why aren’t you saying anything; TALK WOMAN! But unfortunately she didn’t. Although I have to give credit when she couldn’t/wouldn’t possibly shoot Su ji. I just needed to see this in a thought out way. With a plan. And back-up!

Also, with what you said about Su Ji. Completely agree!! I don’t get why she surrendered when Shi wan wasn’t even caught! What bothered me even more is that it seemed like she is resuming her life as a vigilante? So why surrender in the first place at all? Did she even serve her time in prison?

            4
            0

            WOHOO! Congrats you haha.

Yeahp!!! All of the above! I mean, I said it all in my essay, so I’m not gonna say it all again, but yeah, characters going OOC really annoys me haha.

Omg, you should totally watch that ep of Lee Hyun-woo on Running Man w/ Kim Soo-hyun, then! It’s hysterical–for the most part! Plus, that was when RM was really good!

          1
          1

Lee Hyun Woo and Kim Soo Hyun on the same RM? Now the real question is why I haven’t watched this episode yet… *puts on variety to watch list>

            0

Haha, yes! Go go go do it! It’s really cute and funny. I should also watch their movie one of these days. I started watching and idk why I stopped! It has Lee Hyun-woo, Kim Soo-hyun, AND Park Ki-woong!

After re-watching Moorim, screen caps and discussions, I want to see them again as leads in a new drama.

      11
      2

I don’t understand. Moorim got lots of bashing and criticism on db when it was airing. Now it seems people love it? I’m intrigued.

    2
    5

*shrugs* I’m actually wondering the same thing since the recaps were dropped as well. Different bunch of people around maybe, with different tastes? Idk

      3
      2

Probably. Shows like Playful kiss, Faith, Scarlet Heart and Moorim School did very well on streaming sites likes Viki even if on DB it wasn’t popular. I remember Moorim being consistently on the most popular shows of the week for Viki even after it finished airing.

        9
        1

“popular” as in opinion/ratings, not how much attention it got of course.

          3
          0

        Or lowered expectations maybe?

        3
        1

I imagine it’s intimidating to speak up when the most vocal comments are trashing a show so those who loved it probably didn’t express themselves. With chingu & @vannerie openly documenting their experience and enjoying it, I imagine it’s easier for others who liked the drama to come out 😛

      16
      2

        You are probably right.

        8
        0

Aw, this made me smile. 😊 I really hope this is true, too, because I love the idea of everyone being comfortable enough to share something they genuinely enjoy and love, despite what the majority or anyone says.

        1
        0

In my case, I enjoyed it now when I rewatched it than before. I remember watching it for the 1st time, 16 eps stretched to about 4 months. Maybe because now, I just enjoy specific parts/scenes rather than the drama as a whole. The plot holes or what not just flew by.

Nowadays, my viewing habits are a bit different, I have 1-2 live dramas which I totally love, another 1 plainly for rewatching/skipping to specific scenes & another 1 solely as a happy pill.

I was actually surprised too that many other Beanies seemed to enjoy Moorim.

      8
      2

I always think watching a show as it airs and right after the promotions gets the expectations very high and the disappointments very hard. Maybe that is the reason here too, people have forgotten the expectations and are just watching to get sny measure of pleasure possible.

        5
        3

          *Any

          3
          0

Yeah, a show living up to or not living up to its own expectations could really make or break a viewer’s watching experience. Like you said, it might just be more safe to lower our expectations so we don’t end up heart broken when the show(s) don’t end up the way we hoped it would. And you’re right, sometimes, our expectations, perspective, and opinion about a show can differ depending on when we watch it.

          2
          1

Right! And there is the problem of teasers sometimes not exactly conveying the theme and feel of the drama. When I watch the drama much later I have usually forgotten the teaser.

            2
            0

Haha, speaking of teasers! Gotta go watch Moorim‘s! Haven’t done so yet! I was too afraid of spoilers to look up anything “Moorim.”

But yes, oh absolutely. Teasers rarely ever tell us what a show’s about. It just… teases. 😉

          2
          2

            Yeah exactly 😁

            1
            0

This conversation reminds me of that episode in Producers where he has to make a preview and it is pressed upon him that the show’s ratings depend entirely on the preview, only to be belittled later about how previews are not that important! 😄

            1
            0

Aha, I can totally see Moorim as a fun drama to re-watch one day. Epic bromance, ftw!

Wow, so you always have one drama specifically to re-watch? That’s a good idea because I’d love to re-watch some of my faves, but idk when I’d ever get to ’em.

And I think it’s more like Beanies love seeing Lee Hyun-woo’s face! Haha.

        2
        1

Yes, I realized it late last year while checking my dramalist. 1 drama that I finished that I’d re-watch and 1 drama I dropped while it was airing to see if I’ll be able to finish it now.

          2

Maybe post LAHL, many people went back in search of more LHW to Moorim School or saw it for the first time and liked it because they already love him even though the show might not be their thing?

Plus I have a feeling that any LHW image will now attract the LAHL upvoters as does any mention of LAHL. We are a loyal bunch. We see Hyun Woo, we hit upvote 😛

I am just enjoying all the screencaps even though I left it at ep 6 and didn’t even read the recaps.. Great way to know what actually happened in the story!

Aha, is that what it is? I see, I see. 😄 Well, it’s a good thing for me! Haha. But I gotta pick TLAHL back up one of these days to see what all the hype is about.

          4
          1

Oh good I’m not the only one who has yet to see TLAHL,
Planning on watching it with the same friend I watched Moorim with when she gets back from Japan dw Beanies reading this who are shocked at that fact.

            3
            0

Aha, I think you’re right about Lee Hyun-woo = upvotes because I definitely saw a pattern going on there. I was so surprised at first because I knew the show itself had such mixed reviews, but my Moorim posts were getting so much love! I was like, “What is this?” I later realized that it probably wasn’t Moorim School that was getting the love, it was more Lee Hyun-woo’s face. Haha.

Now I didn’t watch TLAHL, but have always liked Lee Hyun-woo very much, and thoroughly enjoyed Moorim.
I’m really happy you’re enjoying my posts about it, though, even though it doesn’t really fill you in on the ~main~ parts, since I mostly share all the goodness that is the (b)romance. Haha.

        2
        1

Hehehe.. yes, you have finally cracked the secret to getting upvotes. Most of mine are from TLAHL comment threads! We were crazy there.. Each comment had a minimum of 20 upvotes- even if it basically said “Hehe.. true that”- like my reply above to bezeich’s comment. It’s a weird phenomenon tbh. I am part of it but I don’t know the reason why! But yeah- LHW, Joy (and Red Velvet by extension), TLAHL, or any of the side characters get love.

Well if I would have tried watching Moorim School, it would have been for LHW’s gorgeous hair and the bromance- both of which I get from your posts 😀

          3
          1

Lol! I see, I see. *nods and takes this all in* I love all the love, but it’s fascinating about where it all comes from! Not complainin’, of course. Haha.

            And aww~ YAY, then! 😊😊😊

            2
            0

Haha, I think most of the love comes from Beanies just loving to see Lee Hyun-woo’s face. 😉

More sunbae-induced jealousy. Haha. I can’t w/ how smitten Soon-deok still is over her sunbae and how Shi-woo is just watching everything go down.

22

Her clapping when sunbae gave her an egg was adorable and hilarious! Hahaha.

that sunbae arc was so nice. I really enjoyed it.

      6
      1

Me too! Sunbae served a lot of purpose, but it’s so amusing to watch Soon-deok flail around and Shi-woo look incredulous and be jealousy petty over it.

I honestly love it when this trope pop up in shows because it’s almost always so much fun to see how our characters react when there’s a little harmless cause for jealousy.

Lol! @yyishere and I go way back. Haha. Um, let’s see if I can remember this correctly… 😅
I think we consistently had the same thoughts and comments on the same posts/subjects in the past, to the point that we kept calling each other “twins” and she was like, “we’re like kindred spirits.” It kinda just stuck and we’ve been playfully calling each other that and also have found many many long-lost siblings along the way, too. Haha! We’re like triplets w/ @azzo1 and probably quadruplets w/ another Beanie, too. 😅

she’s so pretty. I like her simple athletic look here better than her dolled up look in W.

I didn’t really watch W, but oh, I remember her character there! Don’t really remember her in the role, but it’s cool to know that that was her. Haha. And yes, she’s really chill here. Most of them are. Haha.

      1

Wait, how could you remember her if you didn’t watch it?

(as an aside, hair goals in those screencaps)

LOL! Omg, I just realized how odd that sounded. Lemme clarify, my mama watched it, so it was in the background and I caught little snippets of every ep and I remember the boy and girl that was close w/ Lee Jong-seok’s character. They visited him in the hospital and she was in like an all-pink suit, or something? She also had a thing for him, I think. Anyways, now I remember that that was the actress that played Sun-ah!

          2
          0

I remember wanting to shake both Sun-ah & Chi-ang while watching THIS scene, like “come on just open your eyes and know what’s in front of you. Stop pining for another person!”

    7
    1

Haha, I know, right!? I love Chi-ang, so when I noticed that Sun-ah kept looking at him in that way, I was like, “OMG, YES PLEASE!” Chi-ang was in too deep w/ Soon-deok, but good thing I was hopeful and patient! 😊 Will post about that a little later! 😁

Lol @ the boys’ reaction to the girls’ reaction to their sunbae coming back to Moorim. I love a good, harmless jealousy between a couple. Plus, Soon-deok’s “Aw shucks, sunbae” reactions are hilarious.

I was SO HAPPY when he said that.

I love that even though he’s kinda peeved w/ Shi-woo atm and also VERY competitive and wants to be #1, he’s able to temporarily put all that aside and remember that Shi-woo is still his friend, rather than be in denial and lie to himself and to others.

I really love their friendship so much and I’m hoping that Chi-ang finds a way to move on and be happy because he’s got a true friend in Shi-woo.

I can’t. post. spoilers. noooo. I just. You’ll know why I got frustrated at this show soon enough, yes…

Omomo. My heart dropped. Because of your warning/how you feel abt the drama overall, I ALWAYS watch and finish an ep thinking “Hey, what’re they talking about? It’s STILL GOOD.” I’m on ep 11(?) now, 5 more to go and I’m just so hopeful that since I haven’t really found any faults w/ it, that it’ll continue to stay that way. But really, after those last two eps of Lookout, I should really know better…

And haha, yes, I appreciate you for not spoiling me!

Hahaha well it doesn’t quite pull a Lookout on you dw.

a lot of people enjoyed it from beginning to end, so judge for yourself. Personally, I wasn’t disappointed with the drama, and given all the bts circumstances (budget cut, episode cut, low ratings, etc.), I was pretty understanding. It has tons of flaws, but I still liked it: charm of underdog. And I was really happy with the ending 🙂

        14
        4

Yeah, it had flaws but I am fond of it. It’s like a school play, glaring flaws, but you still get sucked in before you know it by the charms of it all, and get engaged in it and attached and it’s still a fun experience at the end of the day 🙂

          11
          1

I totally agree about it being a fun experience at the end of the day! Because it totally was, for me. And you’re right, I think this show was very charming and its characters all had their charms, too, thanks to the talented, diverse cast!

I liked it too. I think people need to suspend disbelief on some parts (mainly the fighting parts) and adjust expectations and people can like it.

          10
          1

Oh, but I loved all the fighting/martial arts parts! Haha. But I totally agree w/ adjusting expectations! If it still isn’t your thing, then oh well. One less drama to keep up w/! 😄

          I wasn’t disappointed… I just… got unbelievably bored… O.o But yes, I’m actually kinda expecting you to like the whole thing @chingu.

Well, I’m now very happy to report that I’m one of those people that throughly enjoyed it from beginning to end! 😊😊😊
While I’m saddened to find out about the bts hullabaloo behind the drama, I’m glad that I was still able to enjoy the show very much, despite all the criticism it received.
OH BOY, the ending! Yes yes yes! Talk about a happy ending! I LOVED it so much! It made me very happy. 😁😁😁

This scene was really so darn cute. He made dinner for her and just sat there and watched her eat. I love this scene for two reasons: 1.) they’re adorable together and 2.) she ACTUALLY ate the food!

Tsk tsk we can’t be friends anymore then.

Joking btw, I’d never unfriend someone just cos they don’t follow LOTR lmao hahahaha just because I can quote all the movies back to front and love the books to death, doesn’t mean everyone else does or can 😀

I mean, if he’s gonna be this sweet and charming, then he could go bald and I’d be okay w/ it. Lol. Maybe.

bald. lmao. and his smile is just urgh.

    7
    1

Lol! Yeah, was pretty dramatic, there. Really glad it’s just a color change and an awkward cut that I have to get used to, because I think I’m gonna need more time to cope if he shaved off all his hair and became bald. Lmao. Ima stop.

Yes, his smiles. <3 he gives Soon-deok the sweetest looks. Chi-ang would get some too if he wasn't so angsty and competitive rn. Sigh.

These two were so cute oh my God! I loved them so much my adorable little puppies. I remember watching Another Oh Hae-young and Seo Ye-ji cameod as Seo Hyun-jin’s younger cousin who was getting married. I was like “why the hell are you getting married again, and who is this non-Shi-woo looking fella?”

I know for a fact that I would be ok with it because it already happened to me. An idol I liked became bald and I still like him.

He talked about his story here and I became an even bigger fan after this.

Ah, yes, I had a feeling you were talking about Peniel! I felt so bad for him when I found out he was losing hair from stressing so much. I think he even shared that he didn’t lose much hair when he was able to take a short break from idol life and be w/ his family. Sigh. I’m glad he’s come to terms w/ it and is fully embracing it all. He’s very strong for being so honest and I’m very proud of him. Jokes aside, outer appearance isn’t everything and certainly does not make a person.

Okay, so as you guys may or may not know, Lee Hyun-woo’s magical silver hair does NOT last till the end of Moorim School. I know, it’s terrible. He ends up… dying his hair… black. Like, pitch black. He also changed his hairstyle and it’s… awkward. I’m willing to overlook the new ‘do, but before I post more, I’d like to dedicate this post to the amazing, kickass silver hair that he sported from eps 1-8. RIP, Lee Hyun-woo’s silver hair. You’re dearly missed.

aw, I liked his black hair 🙁 oc, silver hair is A+++ …. however, I liked how innocent he looked in black hair. could be because I like men with black hair in general

    16
    1

Eh, I wouldn’t have minded his black hair if he didn’t also get an awkward haircut. He’s got this awkward, straight bangs that I could do w/o, but hey, it’s still the same Shi-woo, so I’m not that bothered by it. I do miss his awesome silver hair whenever I see his new hair, though. To each their own, y’know? I thought the silver hair was such a unique part about him, although I guess it was more the idol part of him, so now that it’s gone, it’s like the show’s way of telling us, he’s no longer “just an idol,” but he’s become a changed man, for the better.

I’m team Silver definitely, but I don’t think the black haircut was that bad? It was charming in its own manner + I like that it cleared out his face and feature a bit more compared the the more cumbersome long haircuts?

        7
        2

and like u said, silver = idol, and straight rough haircut = martial artists/soldier like.

I agree, I do appreciate it when K-drama guys have a nice and neat, short hairstyle that shows off their forehead, but I just couldn’t w/ the awkward bangs. I loved how much style the long, silver hair gave him. 🙂 But of course, it’s not the end of the world and yeah, I can see the charm of that style, or maybe it’s just Lee Hyun-woo that’s just oh so charming? 😉
