Beanie level: Eunuch in drag

Finished Chicago Typewriter ep 4. It has that whimsical feel that I love during Kill Me Heal Me. And it totally had me at its OST. Bedazzle me, Show! I want to love you…

Now that SWDBS ended, I wonder if I would be in a deeper slump. Chicago Typewriter is getting weirder but am still holding on. just hope the upcoming new shows will be better.

Omg, same! Bong-soon was the first drama after Goblin that I actually looked forward to watching every week (but even now I’m just watching to finish it ?). Idk what’s going on w/ me, but I’m counting on the new batch to help me get out of this slump!!!

My last one was Weightlifting Fairy! Now I’m looking forward for Man to Man. Really hope it’s good. So many legal/mystery shows lately, I’m losing interest so fast!

Ahhh, Weightlifting Fairy… another drama that I should really finish. 😅
I’m also looking forward to Man x Man! I hope it’s good, too.
Yeah, when dramaland takes on a genre, they make sure they’ve got it covered on all channels, lawl. Smh… can’t we have a nice batch of diff shows?

And no more time travel please! At least not now. Everybody seems to time-travel and solve mysteries these days.

What to do while waiting for subs to come out: Avoid all social media, stop scrolling down the fan wall and avoid any conversation. Things you do to avoid spoilers.

That moment when your Friday came earlier than other parts of the universe. Even if the dramas won’t come any sooner, still, I can now say “Friday’s here!!!”

Had a vbad day. Sprained my wrist and now I can’t finish my work on time.

Which one would you prefer: great story but no chemistry, or sizzling chemistry but bad story?

NOOO! Don’t ask that! It’s the kind of questions that drags me:

    http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2013/23/1370604995-1.gif

I would like to say that I’d go with the great story because that’s the one I would remember fondly but frankly, the one that will pull me to watch the next episode is the sizzling chemistry!

    4
    1

LOL. Yes, the sizzling chemistry are more memorable, I think.

Hmmm… Hard question, since I couldn’t remember a drama that has good story but zero chemistry. Mostly it’s always the other way around. *Glancing at Do Bong-soon*

    2

Yes, true that, always the other way around. Tried to think of good story but zero chemistry, but I ended up thinking of bad story with bad chemistry LOL. Perhaps I should rephrase it to good story but so-so chemistry.

Exactly what i wanted to say! I tried really hard to think of a show which had zero chemistry but a good story, but came out blank.. Can anyone think of such a show?? I can feel wheels turning in my head so I would really like to put it to rest!

On the other hand I could instantly think of great chemistry and bad story shows- Do Bong Soon and Warm & Cozy being at the top of the list!

Hmm…i might get slaughtered by Goblin fans if I say this (cautiously looking around), but I didn’t really get the chemistry between our Goblin and Eun Tak. But maybe it’s just me LOL.

I hear you. there were some moments where I didn’t get the chemistry either.
And also Lee Min Ho and Keon Ji Hyun in the first few episodes of LotBS..

          1

I dropped LotBS because I didn’t feel the chemistry whatsoever. I thought I was an alien cuz everyone else seemed really okay with it :v

Actually shows like Heartless City and My Beautiful Bride came to mind. But since chemistry could be interpreted in more than just romantic tension, it didn’t really fit the bill either. Maybe it really is impossible for a good show to have zero chemistry.

Oh yes Heartless City. But you know what, that kiss at the beginning was quite smoldering hot and I had to shield my eyes the first time.

Never finished watching My Beautiful Bride. But yes, there was not much chemistry between the hero and the bride. But then again, he did have a platonic chemistry with the female lead..

So yeah I think I second your opinion that it might be impossible for good shows to have zero chemistry.

Gaksital also comes to mind. It has great story but I could never get onto Joo Won and Jin Se Yeon’s train.

Chemistry, all the way and twice on Monday.

I could watch the main couples just staring at each other with sizzling chemistry even without a good story LOL

Chemistry before story (unless the story has the potential to be mind-blowing), and acting before chemistry.

    1
    1

Yes agreed, great, compatible actors and actresses can create great chemistry.

Your question made me realize that all these years I’ve been watching TV show because of the leads’ chemistry. The story comes later. But, like most people, I won’t think twice to drop any show with uninteresting story and no chemistry.

I guess chemistry is essential in attracting people to watch dramas. We do watch for the chemistry (unless it is not a rom com).

URRRRHHGGGGHHHHH that question makes me look like Nam Joo-hyuk in the picture–so frustrated! I think I’m gonna have to go w/ the 1st option just bc I’ve watched dramas with the 2nd opt and it’s just not worth it. Ex: Warm and Cozy :(((

Waiting for new eps, waiting for subs, reading recaps, thinking whether you should lurk or comment on recaps, reading drama news, googling images of oppas, gif, videos and updating the fan wall..

The slump is really bad. None of the airing weekday dramas enticed me and I’m already looking forward for weekend. Sigh.

I so understand. In the week days there is work…in the week end there is Bong-Soon and Min-Hyuk.

So looking forward for the week end already!

Currently in kdrama slump. Having a love-hate with SWDBS and proceeding cautiously but excitedly with Chicago Typewriter. Yoo Ah In is LOVE.

In real life I’m pretty secretive about my kdrama obsession and none in my circles knew how obsessed I am. And I never rant about it anywhere else but here. So yeay for this wall!

OMG!! Me too!! I just now started being more open with my friends about watching kdramas. They just don’t realize how obsessed I really am. And don’t get me started on kpop. That is a secret life that only online people know. Haha. I guess I am still in the closet. If my friends only knew they would think I was crazy!!!

I feel you! Some of them know I watch kdrama but they don’t know how obsessive I am. I never mention it coz I know they either wont believe me or wont understand me.

Yep. For sure!! That’s why I love Dramabeans because I can connect with like minded people who understand my kdrama pain!! Haha
