So… I finished Moorim School.

Boy, was it a wild ride. I’m just glad the fight for the chimpanzee is finally over, my boys are together and they’re happy and smiley again, and just, overall happy happy ending all around! It was all tied up in a neat lil’ bow. Will be posting photosets from my fave parts later because 1.) Taking screenshots of my fave moments in a K-drama has become my side job, and 2.) Y’all like ’em, right? Well, y’all like Lee Hyun-woo. I know, I know.

LOL! Literally, every time they bring up the damn “Chintamani,” I’m just like, “Oh boy, okay, here we go~ 🙄😒” Haha, they literally talk about it in like, every ep, and yet I still had to look up the spelling! Anyways, yes, WOOT WOOT~! I did, sicarius, I did! And HA, jokes aside, I actually enjoyed it from beginning to end, so no need to use that one screenshot of Soon-deok’s face! YAY (!) for you actually enjoying my Moorim posts! 😊😘😁 I’ve got a couple dedicated to you, so be on the Lookout! 😉😏

Oh yes, it’s SUUUPER important, chingu, it just HAD to mentioned so much… 😉 Haha
It’s so confusing too because the Romanization of it in the subtitles is not even what they say in the drama??

I thought you might hahaha. I know, shock horror but yes I do enjoy them haha. You pick all the best bits so I can forget all the things I didn’t like 😛
Pfffft don’t pun at me… (but I will not to worry lmao)

LOL! No kidding! 😂 And dude, when they finally put it together and found it, what did it mean that they saw their own reflections in the thing (it was like a big, shiny rock, lol)? I need to check out the last recap because I was like, “… okay???” Haha. Whatever, Show. And lol, yes! They say something totally different! I just assumed they translated it literally?

I was waiting for the moment to come when I’m like, “Ah, yes, this is what sicarius was warning me about. Boo!” But nope. Lol!
And aw, shucks! I make you rethink your initial feelings about the show, huh? Shhh~ don’t say it. Haha, I know, I know, why post about the chimpanzee shanigans when we’ve got an epic bromance and wonderful friendships goin’ on?
Was gonna say, “too soon?” to the pun. 🙃 Btw, still reading your essay! 😅🙈

It wasn’t recapped fully on here. It was dropped at like episode 3 or something… :/ I think it’s supposed be some uhm… ‘inner strength’ ‘you are the power’ or ‘there is no big powerful shiny rock that gives you everything you have to do it yourself’ erm kind of bullshit etc, but it wasn’t done very well…

Hahahaha I mean, I can give you a Lookout length essay if you want but I don’t think either of us really want that… 😛 😛
Well nooo… oh you told me not to say it… I’ll say it anyway. No you didn’t, but you did remind me of the funny bits and what I DID like about it and how much I love Seon Duk and Sun Ah.

Idk… it’s a tricky one, I only occasionally like puns, so my reaction more like ‘really why’ rather than ‘ma lookout feels o no’…
It’s long, take your time, although I’m looking forward to your comments on it 😀

Ah ‘chintamani’.. I had gladly forgotten that! Another example of taking an exotic (Indian) name without doing much research..

So they saw their own reflection? Maybe it was like Kung Fu Panda where the dragon scroll was simply a mirror- basically saying the true power is within you instead of in an external source, you just have to find and utilize it..

“true power is within you instead of in an external source” < ah yes that's a much nicer way of saying it, yes that…

I took it to mean it was like a mirror to show them they had the power within them.

WHAT!? Lol! Wae~~~??? Eh, I know wae. 😔 Well, I can guess. 😆 Will look through the tags on here later and see what happened.
And lawl, THAT makes a lot of sense! Yes! Okay, I get it now. That was simple and idk why I didn’t get it right away when I saw it, but I guess it’s because I was just so done w/ it and the boys distracted me. Law, excuses.

HA! Nah, no thanks! I like that Moorim left a good impression on me overall and will not let you change that! 😝
Well, I’m glad I was able to remind you of the good parts! 👍🏼 There were many! 😁😏

Lol @ “really why” 🙈 Because I couldn’t help myself. Had a feeling you’re kinda over it since you wrote a friggin’ multiple-page essay on it!

@obsessedmuch, I honestly was surprised that “Chintamani” was a real word and an actual thing. 😬 (This dongsaeng’s still learning, unnie!) Will have to do some research, myself.

Yes, they saw themselves! Haha, love the Kung Fu Panda reference! I think you and sicarius are exactly right! Now I love that message 👍🏼👏🏼, even though it ended up being totally anticlimactic. So glad I have you guys to explain all this Moorim School shenanigans to me and joining me on this magical ride. Pwahaha.

I was a little sad too tbh because I like reading recaps. But idk it wasn’t popular on here when it aired? And they had less recappers back then. Now they can cover most everything.

Hahahaha that falling slo mo off the cliff just got to you huh 😉

Hahaha it’s okay I don’t really wanna write it either 😛 So you’re safe. Stay in the happy place.

Just imagine me saying it deadpan and sarcastically, it’s how I react to most puns pfft. Over it and yet not over it you know. I’m at peace with it. Because, yeah well… 8 pages does that to you.

Didn’t know it was a real thing either. You can bet I’m gonna lose myself in Wikipedia now. Wonder how far we’ll get.

(Totally anticlimactic like I KNOW Shi Woo was tryin’ solve it with no fighting and all but … I liked the action scenes…)

Been thinking @obsessedmuch– looked up re. the Chintamani, and it is a traditional object in both Hinduism and Buddhism, yes?
It’s possible, since Korea has a strong Buddhist history, that they do know what they’re referencing. Not that Wikipedia is the greatest accurate source of knowledge but “The mani (jewel) is translated in Chinese ruyi or ruyizhu 如意珠 “as-one-wishes jewel” or ruyibaozhu 如意寶珠 “as-one-wishes precious jewel”. Ruyibaozhu is pronounced in Japanese nyoi-hōju or nyoi-hōshu 如意宝珠. Ruyizhu is pronounced in Korean yeouiju 여의주.”
My guess is there is a Korean version, and that’s what they were trying to incorporate into the show.

Ooh. You finished it then. I enjoyed it all the way through actually. Although they inevitably had a tough job to cram the last planned 8 episodes into 4 it still ended well. Waiting for the onslaught of pictures now.

I did! Now when are we gonna go glamping at Moorim Peak? 😉 And yay for us enjoying it all the way! Haha. It was an easy and fun watch from beginning to end, I thought, even when it tried to be serious, I was like, “Okay, whatever, this too shall pass.” Haha. And oh yeah, it DID have ep cuts! Pooey. I would’ve liked to see more Chi-ang and Sun-ah being a cute couple together and an actual wedding from Shi-woo and Soon-deok, hello! Will be posting soon!

Maybe some more scenes with the two dads. Some more music. No more scenes with the monk and the dark force wheelchair guy though.

Lol @ “dark force wheelchair guy.” Yes! Those baddies stayed for too long. Loved the two dads. <33 They're so cute and I love that they're an older version of Shi-woo and Chi-ang. Haha.

Ah, now that sounds more like how they pronounce it in the drama! Cool cool.
