Hi any Jung So Min & Hwang Chi Yeul fans out there? This is probably spoilerish but
.
.
So Min is appearing in a TVN reality show "Candy in Your Ear" - ep 2 to be shown on TVN today (Sat) at 1050 pm KST. She is the "candy" of my bias Hwang Chi Yeul and they are both adorable! They haven't met yet ... will they meet? They appear in two episodes only, I wish there was more, because I love their pairing, despite my not understanding Korean (hoping for Eng subs eventually) and despite their only chatting on the phone, not meeting in the flesh.

Here is a clip (thanks to Sumi for subs) of HCY's preliminary meeting with the producer of the show: It's funny :)

I just saw the first episode of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and am officially hooked. Finally another fascinating drama comes along to save me from the Weightlifting Fairy Withdrawal! Like Bok Joo, the main lead is also a tough female that the guy needs to catch up with if he wants to make their love work. Hopefully it's just as addicting heartwarming!
The best part is that my two favorite actors/oppas/husbands are playing the two male leads: Park Hyung Sik and Ji Soo. Oh my goodness, I loved loved loved Park Hyung Sik from High Society and as for Ji Soo, well, every drama he appears in suits him perfectly! Oh wait, did I mention they are both exceptionally handsome? This drama is for sure gonna be swueeeeg!
Speaking of suweeg, the only thing that would complete this new drama is if Lee Sung Kyung and Nam Joo Hyuk made a guest appearance as a couple! Okay, I know I'm asking for too much, but pretty please? I miss them so badly!
Actually, there should be a drama where all my favorite actors and actresses will be: Park Hae Jin, Kim Go Eun, Park Hyung Sik, Ji Soo, Han Ye Ri, Lee Sung Kyung, Nam Joo Hyuk, Park Shin Hye...And the list goes on! Ah, my life would be complete.
Alright, I'm finished letting out all of this steam of excitement and illusions. Happy Drama Watching everybody!

oooo is this where we are going to gush over how awesome the first episode of Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is? <3

I really liked the comic book-style narration of Bong Soon's strong female ancestors. It was well done to give a bit history/background and describe the "rules of the universe" of her powers in a fun and concise way.

The leads are awesome as expected, but I also really like the secondary characters too, especially Bong Soon's family. Her mom is the awesome and it's great to see the actress after a long time (at least for me). I loved the scene with Bong Soon when she threatens him not to tell mom and he mouths "Bong-geuk" in retaliation, such natural and fun sibling interaction. And Pah-Oh! I can't wait for Bong Soon's dad to meet CEO An. I want some meta-jokes at Hawrang like slip of "Your Majesty" or a "Have I seen you before?" :]

by the way, did anyone understand what CEO Ahn's stalker said in the threatening calls? Watched it without subs and couldn't hear a word besides just menacing mumbling. Is it subbed by chance?

All that incoherent mumbling made it not so scary, imho. If you want to scare someone, do it like the one from Ghost and make a famous/popular song scary/ remotely control people's computers.

Seriously though, people are missing a lot by skipping TOMORROW WITH YOU. It's evenly paced and the subtle meaning of the words and scenes are very heart-wrenching. Im really liking the theme of this show. I highly recommend this for people who like a well balanced show~~ romance, comedy, mystery, and meaningful life lessons.

*this is my first time posting a comment despite being attached to dramabeans for almost five years now. Haha. So i would like to thank the brains behind this awesome site containing awesome discussions and comment exchanges ?

I truly fail to understand why people aren't watching "Tomorrow with You" too. what's worst, is that it's apparently getting really low ratings in Korea, while I'm impatiently counting the days for the next episode !
the chemistry is off the chart !

So....I just finished Biscuit Teacher, Star Candy today, and has anyone else watched this??? I didn't like it, but did find myself smiling every time Gong Yoo was on screen.

I had no expectations going into this drama, but just wanted to see Gong Yoo's earlier works and compare them with his acting now.

I had a lot of problems with this drama, and when I say "a lot" I mean that the Titanic couldn't hold all the problems I had with it.

First, I couldn't figure out who was the first lead and who was the second lead. I assumed that Gong Yoo probably wouldn't get the girl, that he was the second lead, early on. But then the main "oppa" was such a weak wet noodle, and I felt NOTHING for him AT ALL, so I started changing my tune. But it took like 15 episodes for the girl to figure it out, which just annoyed me.

Speaking of the artist-teacher-love interest, I dated a few artists in my day, and they are nothing like this guy. They were interesting, emotional, maybe even a little volatile, but not as boring as this character was portrayed. I think it was the actor's portrayal, but I don't know. When he got mad, I really didn't feel it.

Second, she's his TEACHER, he's a STUDENT. I don't know about where you all are from, but in the good 'ole US of A, as many news headlines as I've seen about teachers going to prison after having inappropriate relationships with students (and one actually having her student's baby in jail), this just was all kinds of wrong. I would have locked Tae In up and kept him under house arrest if he were my son.

Third, the main female lead is an excellent actress and I looked her up after seeing this (Gong Hyo Jin), but her character really lacked any depth for me. Again, it could just come from me having issues with the premise above, but how could you get on an 19 year old's motorcycle crying over a guy who is too complacent to stand up to an ex-girlfriend?
GET A NEW OPPA, and not your 19 year old student, please.

Fourth, and this may be telling of my age, but I TOTALLY AGREED with the step-mom in this and was mentally screaming at my IPHONE when Tae In wanted to marry her right out of high school. HIGH SCHOOL??? Do people in Seoul allow their kids to get married right out of high school?
Again, house arrest for Tae In, maybe even boarding school.

Fifth, how can one class of ~25 kids have so many life or death issues? And, just wondering, should I be recognizing any of them in any drama roles today? They all can cry on a dime.

At least there was no amnesia.

With that said, Gong Yoo steals every scene and I find myself not even caring what the subtitles are or what he's actually saying. I could watch his face and expressions all day. That's the only reason I trudged through 16 episodes--thank God for fast forwarding.
