The K2: Episode 11
by gummimochi
A tumultuous war threatens to break out this week when one mission will put more than one life in danger. Knowing who to trust will be the key to navigating this complicated maze of politics, where one wrong move can spell death. Je-ha will need to rely on the only ray of sunlight in his life to pull through the darkest of times with obstacles that could potentially pull him back under.
EPISODE 11 RECAP
Master Song insists on joining the JSS agents on their mission to take out Representative Park while CEO Gook calls the police commissioner about switching sides. The politician’s men spot the drove of vans leaving the JSS headquarters, and thanks to the police commissioner, Representative Park is tipped off about tonight’s planned attack at his home.
His secretary decides it’s safer to escort Representative Park to a hideout, knowing full well that they’re being followed. Indeed the car behind them is from JSS, and they’re momentarily stopped by a traffic cop who’s actually working for Representative Park.
As a supply truck leaves the JSS headquarters, the agent tailing Representative Park reports that he’s lost the target, only to spot a similar car a minute later. It’s a classic diversion technique, as the real car transporting the politician drives away safely.
While the JSS agents stare down at Representative Park’s men in their respective vehicles, we see the supply truck—which contain JSS snipers—park outside the politician’s hideout. Sure enough, they see Representative Park’s car pull in.
Yoo-jin is pleased to hear everything is going according to plan, even praising CEO Gook for his efforts. Over at the hideout, the policemen following Representative Park look awfully familiar—it’s Je-ha and Team Leader Seo.
Representative Park’s secretary ask the men if they’ve eaten, but then everyone freezes when Team Leader Seo answers “yes.” Je-ha realizes that was a secret question, and he finds himself surrounded before he can pull out his gun.
The men are instructed to shoot, but that’s when the JSS snipers start shooting them down like flies. Je-ha and Team Leader Seo take cover in the ensuing shootout, and run after Representative Park, who is escorted away from the crossfire.
Both men keep their eye on the target, shooting at every opportunity. The snipers provide reinforcement, taking a shot whenever the target is in sight. Je-ha and Team Leader Seo tail Representative Park and his bodyguards into an office, where Representative Park’s secretary shoots Team Leader Seo in the back.
The secretary throws the now empty gun away, and Je-ha comes face to face with more of Representative Park’s men. When one of them puts a gun to Team Leader Seo’s head, Je-ha shoots him down.
He then rushes over to Team Leader Seo, who screams at him to stay focused on the target. Seeing Representative Park crawl away, Je-ha jumps into a chair and rolls across the room while shooting his gun.
As Representative Park runs into his panic room, Je-ha slides underneath the closing door. He keeps his gun trained on the terrified politician, and he curses himself as the symptoms of his PTSD rise to the surface.
Angry tears fall from Je-ha’s eyes as he breathes heavily, unable to pull the trigger. He shoots at the ceiling instead, letting out agonized screams. It takes another minute for Je-ha’s breathing to become even, and now that he’s no longer in immediate danger, Representative Park asks Je-ha to hear him out.
At the words that Je-ha won’t be able to come out alive even if he kills Representative Park, he’s reminded of Anna’s orders to return to her. Representative Park offers double however much his employers are paying him for his assassination. Reminded of Yoo-jin’s words that a bullet isn’t the only thing that can kill a man, Je-ha can’t help but laugh.
Representative Park starts awkwardly laughing with him when Je-ha says money is exactly what mercenaries like him love to hear. The politician is instructed to sit and grant the JSS agents safe passage.
Je-ha realizes that Representative Park knows who he is, though he wonders how much the politician knows. He’s relieved when it appears Representative Park knows that he’s killed before but unable to kill anyone at present. He outwardly ponders the offer and calls Yoo-jin to tell her all about it.
Yoo-jin realizes this means Je-ha is currently operating alone, thus unable to kill Representative Park. She mulls over the situation and asks to speak with the politician.
She smiles when Representative Park admits defeat, though she doesn’t take up the man on his offer to release Se-joon in exchange for sparing his life right away. He gets her attention when he offers that Se-joon can join his political party, to which Yoo-jin says amusingly that she might consider if Representative Park withdraws from this election.
Representative Park chuckles before saying he’s better off being killed, but she knows where he stands now and gives him fifteen minutes to deliberate. She asks to speak with Je-ha and tells him: “Come back alive, no matter what.”
Next thing we know, all the JSS agents move out, much to Master Song’s confusion. He’s even more puzzled when he’s told that they’ve won. Se-joon is released from the prosecutor’s office while the Democratic Party announces a formal invitation for Se-joon to join their party.
Yoo-jin won’t celebrate until Je-ha returns safe and sound, which only makes Secretary Kim more nervous. So when Secretary Kim tries calling Team Leader Seo, the call goes unanswered.
Representative Park hands Je-ha a bagful of cold hard cash from his safe, then sits down to casually mention how he knows Je-ha was a part of Blackstone. Despite his initial surprise, Je-ha keeps his cool, and Representative Park says he had once hired the Blackstone mercenaries to protect him.
Representative Park appears surprised himself when Je-ha pinpoints that he must’ve been there on private business. When Je-ha says it reeks of oil in this room, Representative Park retorts that it isn’t oil, but likely the smell of blood.
He admits he likes Je-ha, whom he’d been trying to arrange a private meeting with. He chuckles that he should thank Yoo-jin for dropping Je-ha at his feet, because he knows Je-ha is in her inner circle.
He offers Je-ha to work for him and his country while earning some pocket money on the side. Je-ha agrees to being brought on for-hire (though methinks it’s just to make sure he leaves the building alive), and Representative Park makes sure that Je-ha leaves safely with the money in hand.
Je-ha rejoins the other JSS agents and says nothing when Team Leader Seo asks about the money. Se-joon is filled in on recent events through Sung-won, concluding that Yoo-jin wanted Anna dead. When Chief Joo says Sung-won made the first move though, he asks if Chief Joo’s loyalties lie with Yoo-jin.
Chief Joo doesn’t have much of a defense to how Anna’s life was in danger, adding that it was Yoo-jin who was responsible for his release. But Se-joon refuses to hear any more.
Yoo-jin congratulates Secretary Kim for not losing her life. She warns her not to mess with Je-ha lest she actually has a death wish. Desperate, Secretary Kim pleads with her, saying that she can do anything Je-ha can do for her.
Yoo-jin shares in that same earnest sentiment, but for Je-ha. Therefore it’s to Secretary Kim’s best interest not to push her to the edge and to focus on what she does best rather than try to do what Je-ha can do for her.
Anna stands vigil by the window and brightens when she sees Je-ha pull into the driveway. She runs down excitedly and briefly stops short at the steps outside before running into his open arms.
She welcomes him home, and he apologizes for not picking up the ddukbokki because he left his wallet behind. She says she can let him off just this once and agrees to go out to have something even better.
Se-joon’s return, however, is far less romantic as he greets his wife with a slap across the face. He seethes and Yoo-jin tells her staff to leave them. Se-joon loudly reminds Yoo-jin of their arrangement: she doesn’t harm Anna and they’ll both go to the Blue House.
“You’re nothing if I don’t become president, Choi Yoo Jin!” he bellows. Yoo-jin backs down and asks if Se-joon doesn’t wish to become president. He asks if that’s a threat, and she explains how she probably could get a few subsidiaries from JB Group if she were to strike a deal with Sung-won.
Se-joon laughs in disbelief, knowing that Yoo-jin won’t be truly satisfied with just acquiring the dregs. “Is that right?” she returns in an innocent voice. Her voice then finds in roots when she says she could entertain something bigger: “Should I make a deal with Park Kwan-soo like I did with you?”
She’d just be trading out one despicable politician for another, and she’s sure Representative Park would be enticed if she offered to hand Se-joon over in exchange for JB Group when he’s elected president: “Would [he] decline such an offer?”
She says Se-joon must think she’s joking when he chuckles, adding threateningly: “Have you forgotten who I am?” Yoo-jin reminds him that he’s nothing without her, and Anna can die too if she crosses the line. If Se-joon doesn’t like it, he can simply drop out of the presidential race.
She calls him out for the pitiful look on his face, arguing that she’s the pitiful party here. She’s the one who fell for him despite his lofty political ambitions and was never loved in return. She’s willing to make herself vulnerable in this moment, confessing that until quite recently her heart would flutter at his slightest touch.
He must’ve known that and used that to his advantage, but unfortunately for him, she doesn’t have an ounce of feeling for him anymore. She invites him to test that theory and touch her, then laughs at his face when he does nothing.
Yoo-jin admits that she was swayed by him in his heyday—he was impressive, intelligent, and just. Or that’s what she was led to believe, just like the voters. But she turns upon him with a look of disgust, saying he was just as lewd and cunning then as he is today.
He used her rage and jealousy to betray Anna’s mother, whom he loved and left her to die. She grits through clenched teeth that despite Se-joon’s hand being the first one that has ever struck her, she’ll let him keep it to continue his campaign.
“Take good care of it,” she warns, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. “Because I’ll come back to claim it once you don’t need it for your political activities.”
Yoo-jin does her own makeup without the help of Secretary Kim and calls up a tiny smile before it fades away.
Je-ha and Anna, meanwhile, joins the other JSS agents on a celebratory dinner. He stops Anna from drinking, worried that her cheeks might flush pink again, but she insists that she’ll be fine. The other agents whoop excitedly as she downs the glass, and when Mi-ran makes a wrap for Sung-gyu, Team Leader Seo swoops in to eat it. Lol.
Yoo-jin watches the group celebrate from her car. Her eyes trained on Je-ha and Anna celebrating together, she declines the suggestion of bringing Je-ha in, letting him take the night off to enjoy himself.
The entire group heads back to the safe house afterward, where Je-ha feels uncomfortable when Team Leader Seo looks at him fondly: “What’s with you, hyung?” Touched by the term of endearment, Team Leader Seo pulls him into a hug. Je-ha kicks him away.
Since everyone’s been drinking tonight, the group opts to spend the night at the safe house. Cut to: the JSS agents in sheet masks, including Team Leader Seo whom Mi-ran smacks into submission.
He refuses to join in, though he winces when Anna hits his back. He argues that someone as handsome as him doesn’t need to partake in this, a statement that offends all the other agents. But then he ends up wearing a sheet mask too. HA.
Je-ha can hardly sleep amongst the snoring men and their odd sleeping habits. Anna can’t sleep either, thinking back to the kiss earlier that afternoon. Remembering Je-ha’s injured back, she sneaks out to grab the first-aid kit.
She checks in to see if he’s awake, and he invites her up to the roof. She squeals excitedly when she sees that he had the attic organized, then proceeds to start unbuttoning his shift. He’s taken aback, but she doesn’t explain herself and keeps trying, and he replies softly, “No, I’m not ready yet.” Pfft, what sort of thoughts are you having?
She tenderly treats the cut on his back and berates him for treating his body so recklessly when he belongs to her. He says he won’t anymore and thanks her, adding that it doesn’t hurt anymore.
With that, they head up to the roof, where Anna notes how chilly it’s gotten. But Je-ha isn’t worried as he opens a window to reveal a blanket he’s hidden… and wraps it around himself. Heh.
Anna gives him a dirty look and starts coughing, which is when he laughs and covers them both. When she asks if they only have one blanket, he answers no, and she giggles, “Why are we sitting like this then?”
He stares at her face for a few moments before snuggling closer and asking if someday into the future, she might want to live with him in Spain. He wonders if she doesn’t when she says nothing, and Anna explains how Spain was somewhere she so desperately wanted to escape from.
Still, she acknowledges it’s also where they first met, so she agrees to go. “I think it’ll be okay if I go with you.” It’s at that moment she realizes she doesn’t know that much about him. Honey, you aren’t the only one.
She asks what he was doing in Spain when they met, and he takes a beat before answering that he was on the run. Asked why, he replies, “Because I’m being framed for murdering someone I couldn’t protect.”
“Was it someone you loved?” she ventures. He grunts in affirmation, and Anna realizes this must be why he’s suffering from his nightmares every night. He says it is, and Anna places his head on her shoulder, comforting him. “It must’ve been hard for you,” she says before correcting herself. “No, it still must be hard for you.”
He buries his face in her shoulder as a tear rolls down his face. “It’s okay,” he says before burrowing deeper. He then lifts his head and tells her that he used to think he had nothing to lose because he didn’t have anything to protect.
“But now I’ve found someone I want to protect,” he continues. “So… I think I can be happy now.” They both smile at that, and she wonders when they can both leave for Spain. Caressing her hair, he answers, “When this war is over?”
Je-ha is met with a parade of thumbs-up by his fellow agents when he arrives to work the next day. He heads down to the Cloud Nine sublevel where Yoo-jin is already waiting for him. Je-ha tells Secretary Kim not to worry since he didn’t take Representative Park’s life, but the latter is apologetic anyway.
Yoo-jin greets the hero of JSS in a melodic voice, though Je-ha doesn’t feel comfortable with the new status. He notes how he didn’t take out Representative Park, but Yoo-jin still offers to hand Secretary Kim’s life over to him, and Je-ha remarks there are times when her jokes sound dangerously genuine to his ears.
She laughs that she must be that great of an actress, and is pleased to hear that he’s gained Representative Park’s trust.
Sung-won checks in on Anna and informs the rest of the staff that they now work for him. When Sung-gyu says this safe house belongs to JSS, Sung-won reveals that JB Group owns this property, so they should go ahead to switch out the entire security system… he says with the JSS security system still in place.
He hands over his unlimited credit card and tells Anna to continue to live here because he’ll put her name on the deed. She doesn’t quite understand the terminology, and the housekeeper says she should be incredibly grateful to Sung-won, who laughs that she needn’t know these things.
Back at Cloud Nine, Yoo-jin ruminates over Representative Park’s rhetoric of “the smell of blood.” It’s possible he could’ve been referring to his weapon dealings, but she believes it’s best they check in with her magic mirror.
She mentions she’ll need to lay out her trap because it won’t be long before Representative Park will try to enlist his help. The politician will want her head, and Je-ha must continue to foster his trust.
When Anna asks about her mother’s grave, Sung-won promises to go and pay their respects together prior to the fashion show held in her mother’s tribute later that evening.
Je-ha says nothing to Secretary Kim on his way out, and Yoo-jin invites her inside. She states, “It’s time for you to do your work, too.”
Secretary Kim replies that things are already in motion, and Yoo-jin returns that Je-ha must never know about this.
COMMENTS
Ooh, know about what? Putting Anna in danger again? Because that would be the nerve to pinch if Yoo-jin doesn’t want Je-ha to find out. That, and Je-ha didn’t complete the kill, therefore technically allowing Yoo-jin to continue to target Anna. Her concern toward Je-ha mirrored Anna’s affection for him more than ever this hour, particularly when she issued the same order for Je-ha to return alive. Yoo-jin is keenly attuned to Je-ha’s known vulnerabilities, immediately picking up that Je-ha was unable to pull the trigger even though he had Representative Park cornered. The choice of words in her voiceover is misleading, however, since it almost suggests that Je-ha couldn’t finish the kill because he wasn’t flanked by the other operatives.
So we have to trust in the idea that Je-ha is currently unable to pull the trigger to take a life because of his trauma, not just because he was facing Representative Park alone. It’s possible that she and Je-ha could’ve trusted in another agent, though I wonder how satisfied Je-ha would’ve been if, say a sniper were to have taken Representative Park out. This is where the deal gets rather tricky since it seems like Je-ha had to be the one to kill Representative Park though both he and Yoo-jin would’ve known how tough it would’ve been for him even if all the conditions were right.
Furthermore, our characters seem to focus more on the takeaways of the supposed failed assassination. Although the cards seemed stacked against Yoo-jin last week, she anticipated the diversion along with her enemy’s desire to recruit Je-ha. Even Representative Park put a positive spin on the attack because it gave him an unintentional audience with Je-ha. The politician would be a fool if he thinks that Je-ha is but a mere mercenary who goes where the money is, so we’ll have to wait and see if Representative Park is someone who sets up clever fail-safes (like the secret question) or falls into other traps.
In that same vein, while it was good for Je-ha to test how much Representative Park knows about him, he really should question the veracity of how much comes out of the politician’s mouth. He may think that the politician doesn’t know that he can’t shoot to kill, but if Chief Joo was able to dig up his PTSD diagnosis, then it’s altogether possible that Representative Park knows as well. He’s surrounded by politicians and those involved in business, who would promise almost anything if they stand to have something to gain.
But perhaps this is all because like Anna, we still don’t know all that much about Je-ha aside from his tragic hero backstory, his revenge, and his love and desire to protect Anna. We don’t even know his real name, either, and despite the moment Anna directly asked him about his past, we left that scene knowing just as much as we did before. Then there’s Yoo-jin, who laid out her vulnerability on the table with Se-joon. We’d seen hints of emotion whenever Se-joon let her down, but now we can confirm that at one point, she did love her husband enough to strike this business deal with him, even though she knew full well that his heart remained with someone else.
Like she said, she could barter new deals with anyone at this point, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s already cast a line with everyone she mentioned. Because if anyone is best prepared for war, it’s the woman sitting across her vanity mirror putting on her armor all on her own.

Somebody award Madam Choi for simultaneously creeping me out, scaring me, making me very very angry, and feeling sorry for her all at the same time.
While I think K2 and Anna are cute, ...I reallly cant shake the sadness at the lost opportunity on what if Anna was just a kid, and the pairing be between K2 and Madam Choi. Id expect tragic separation in the end, but damn, that would be tragically awesome.

Ditto. Song Toon Ah shines in this series. A very multilayered actress.
I've just recently finished The K2 in a two-night marathon and darn it, Madam Choi lived on after the last action-emotion packed episode. For some reason I feel like she was the real heroein in this drama. The other Yoon-ah as Anna appeared so pale and dimmed in contrast.

I really enjoyed episode 11. Song Yoonha is just stellar in this role.
Sometimes I wonder if I would have felt differently about Go Anna, if a different actress had played her. I think she should have gone all out with wild hair, dirty dress, and pure desperation in the earlier episodes. Because I didn't feel sorry enough for her in the beggining or relate to her on any level and the child scenes didn't make me feel any sorrier for her either. I think if I had felt more invested in her character, the drama would not have this current dilemma of a deliciously complicated intelligent yet still vulnerable quality antagonist one wants to root for - for some reason.

Thanks for the recap! I almost forgot what happened in this episode since the one after is so full with the mystery of "who killed Um Hyerin?" lol (I have a theory about that which I just posted on soompi, but I'll wait until the next recap to talk about it here.)
In the meantime, just want to say how much I adore those Anna and Jeha scenes. I would have loved another kiss, but a snuggle on the roof is good too.
I think I really felt for Yoojin this episode, after hearing how she loved Sejoon at one time, and even had feelings for him up until recently. I'm sort of hoping those romantic desires didn't transfer to Jeha but... I guess that's the road we're going to.
I absolutely hated the slap, by the way. Sejoon might have been justifiably angry after hearing the close call Anna went through but... still, what a scumbag move. Asserting your physical dominance over a woman does not make you look powerful, it makes you look despicable. Not to mention, pathetic. I'd respect Sejoon more if he got even with Yoojin in a smarter, calculated way.
Because of Yoojin's last words in the episode, I worry for Anna's safety... but I'm torn since a part of me is hoping Yoojin won't try to kill Anna.
Actually, I would absolutely love it if Yoojin and Anna were on the same side... Is that wishful thinking, lol?

To be honest I am really really hoping they are on the same side cause seriously it would be amazing if they were.
And then I could find myself stopping this inner conflict I have about Yoo Jin...
Cause even though she says herself she killed Anna's mother I still don't really believe it... I feel like there is sooo much more to what actually happened with her mothers death that I find myself actually hoping that Yoo Jin actually wants to protect Anna and stuff.... TT^TT

Yeah... I don't really believe Yoojin killed Anna's mother. To be honest, I believe Yoojin's father, the late Chairman, killed Um Hyerin lol.
Plus more and more, I believe that Yoojin's character is redeemable, despite all the manipulation and threats and evil things she's done... while in comparison, I find Sungwon (Anna's "uncle") scarier and more dangerous than ever. He's definitely using Anna, not helping her.
So I really wish there was a way Anna and Yoojin could come together and be on the same side...
because they're both characters that I'm rooting for.

That's a pretty selective can't-kill-curse Je-Ha has. Pretty sure he killed a few in the gunfight. I guess we're supposed to think he can kill only in the heat of battle, but actually he can only kill minions -- he won't be able to kill major characters until the final episode.

Yoo-jin is by far the most fleshed out character in this whole drama, and I'm still here watching for her. I was crying for her in that scene with Se-Joon. He really is a despicable old man when it comes down to it, and the entire situation we find ourselves in wouldn't have happened if, like Yoo-jin said, he didn't take advantage of the love and jealousy of a very young woman for his career. And if she wasn't as ambitious (and crazy if we're being honest) as she was it all would've worked out. He'd have his secret daughter and secret lover on the side while he used YJ to get to the top portraying an image of a loving and virtuous husband. The only reason he regrets it is because it backfired and she has him in a stranglehold.
How many years her senior is he in the drama? 10? 15? I was imaging it as she was speaking and I disliked him more and more.
It is interesting though when she speaks about herself. She is a victim but she also has a victim complex. We certainly know she sees herself as a wolf, but she believes she was made this way. That she had no choice but to do what she's doing because of things done TO her. She never forgets how she was taken advantage of. I wonder how much she understands how much of an active player she's been in hurting people. In creating victims. She says she doesn't care and she's doing what needs to be done to secure what she wants, but does she think it's okay because she's also a victim or just she knows it's not justified and not care? Or a mix of both?
There's just so much here, and I want to know more about her evil plans and schemes and what she's hiding and everything about her.

Thanks for the recap, gummimochi! This episode was not that bad. I liked how they turned the kill park kwan soo thing to their advantage but they never revealed what he had that could have got se joon arrested? I felt like Yoo jin should have asked that, for it not to be used against se joon later. Also, I feel they will never reveal anymore about je ha's backstory. Also, I think park kwan soo might play je ha as a pawn to get yoo jin too because he has a file containing Info about je ha and I think he deliberately didn't reveal that he knows much about je ha during their Interaction. Did he agree to give up the presidency race? How was he allowed to live?
The romance is ok but I feel like I can accept that only because I know they are the leads. because we didn't really see the growth of their affection towards each other. Also, I think we already know their ending, they will go back to spain and live together. ;)

Just dropping in quick to comment. I've been MIA the past two weeks due to work. (You know real life!)
Anyway, I enjoyed the episode. Although I always yearn for more Je Ha/Anna action. Song Yoona is wonderful as Yoo Jin as always. It's always a pleasure to watch any scene she's in.
I hope everyone is enjoying the show!
I'll be back tomorrow with a full comment on Episode 12. See you all then!

I considered that, but I don't think so.
Why would Sejoon be controlled by Yoojin and be forced to go along with her agenda, when it was really him with the upper hand? Shouldn't it be the other way around, if Sejoon killed Anna's mother? He could go to Yoojin and say, "I killed the mother of my child. I can easily kill you too, if you don't help me become president."
Instead, he goes through all the trouble of making sure Anna is safe from Yoojin, even telling K2 to protect her. Even from this episode, we learn that Sejoon was told about Anna's close call in the gas fight by Sungwon (Anna's "uncle"), suggesting that he even struck a deal with Sungwon to keep Anna safe.
For a plot twist, I kept thinking maybe it was Sungwon who killed Anna's mother, but after watching Ep12, I didn't think so anymore.

After watching epi 12, I'm getting the idea, the one actually ordered Anna's mother probably the late Chairman? He loved Yeo Jin, and as one way to redeem himself because he has a mistress and son from another woman, he ordered for Anna's mother to be killed. Who knows he probably wanted to kill Anna as well, but Yeo Jin prevented him from doing so?
For epi 11, the conversation between Yeo Jin and her husband was the highlight of the episode. So many layers, so many changing emotions - she acted all crazy, annoyed, mad, mocked him.. Ahh epic. Song Yoon Ah deserve Best Actress, Daesang award for her stellar performance here.

I still feeling K2 - Choi Yeo Jin owns this drama together. K2-Anna will be more interesting if it is separate drama. For now, I don't feel about Anna.
Why? Anna's stories will have potential if it is done right. From someone who has been locked up in outside country, her struggles to overcome trauma, finding the truth, seeking revenge. In this drama, I don't think i even have slight interest with her character, which is bad.
If Anna has a different drama, it will be more interesting in my opinion. You know someone like Moon Geun Young and Han Ye RI will probably deliver Anna's character with many layers and emotions. Sorry with this randomness. I expected Anna to become like Yeo Jin in certain aspects, especially the layers on her character, but so far I just found her as someone who was easily tricked and need a protector. I understand where she came from, and it is quite impossible to make her character come out as strong as Yeo Jin. That's why I'm thinking it will be great if Anna actually has her own drama which focusing on her stories.

I agree. All these characters have so much potential to be explored. They could have made this like a psychological thriller where people with traumatic Pasts get over their trauma to do the things they want to accomplish, like je ha wanting to kill park kwan soo, anna getting her revenge on yoo jin, yoo jin getting the power she craves and all of them playing mind games with each other. Even je ha can have have his own drama, how he got betrayed by his country and how it affected him and he again got framed for murdering his girlfriend, they could have showcased his mental struggle on overcoming this and trying to live as normal a life as possible instead of going the tropes way. It seems like yoo jin is the only character who has the scope for showing different aspects of her personality in this drama, Which is a shame considering all the main characters here have the same potential.

@Imbuk: great ideas, too bad the writer has decided to take the easy route with yoojin being the typical female villain in dramaland as the pathetic older jealous bitter woman, anna being the damsel in distress and jeha the typical hero who saves the day. boring as heck, i was hoping for a more complex unpredictable storyline, but guess writer nim has reach his limit.
@Sera: tbh, i think young yoona's acting isn't that bad in this drama, but not good enough to pull me into her character either (but now that you mention Moon Geun Young, i can totally see her as anna). just like you, i really don't care for her character at all, considered that she's the main female lead that is bad. i think the director and writer has underestimated SYA's acting power by having the first 5-6 episodes mostly on choi yoojin, since SYA's acting is so amazing and phenomenal by the time they decided to put anna back into the picture it was too late b/c by this time SYA's acting has outshine everyone else in the show. SYA basically dominates the show. it doesn't help either that SYA is so gorgeous looking and mesmerizing onscreen lol. if writer-nim wanted an evil stepmom whom everyone can despite and hate on, he should have pick someone who has good acting skill but older and uglier, or young and pretty but has bad acting skill lol. and then them trying to promote the love storyline b/w jeha-anna, feel so rush and forceful to me for some reason. anyway at this point, i'm more interest into SYA's yoojin eventhough she's just a second female lead, the weird thing is i am actually more in love with choi yoojin as the story progress and i've never love a villain so much before lol. SYA's acting totally drown and buried everyone in this show lol. i guess by now it's safe to say that this show is nothing without SYA??? well, i know the young yoona has legions of fans and all, but i wonder if this show would be that interesting if it wasn't for SYA.
i have such a huge girl crush on SYA right now lol, she's so mesmerizing i can't even take my eyes off her every time she appears onscreen lol.

No, Yoona is never the main female lead from the very beginning. I am quite perplexed why most people think Yoona is the main female lead, because Anna' story is never the main plot of this drama. There's no way Song Yoon Ah becomes the second female lead over someone like Yoona, though. Im saying this because there are proof, for example from the beginning they promoted this drama as a story of Kim Je Ha , a bodyguard hired by CHoi Yeo Jin, a wife of presidential candidate. It simply means this drama mainly belong to these two, although there is no romance between the, on the other hand Yoona & her father are playing secondary roles to these two.
Song Yoon Ah & Ji Chang Wook are the main leads. There is no rule that villain can never the main lead of any drama. ;)

First off thank you for the recap, it continues to add to the experience of watching the show. The show itself continues to intrigue me. Choi Yoo Jin has built herself an amazing organization that even has a supercomputer to aid in it's information retrieval! The only bad thing about joining her is if you are no longer needed you're tossed aside or taken out -- at least that's what her brother implied, ahjumma, K1, and J4 are just pawns to be discarded as necessary.
However, we find out in this episode it may not be like that, the fact that they seem to care for Master Song, Yoo Jin's loyalty to JeHa, and Team Leader Seo's new friendship with Jeha seem to say differently.
Now the ol' romance with the actress/idol and our hero. Well, it's not too bad with the simple human interaction, it's just that compared to Yoo Jin there's a lot of subtlely lost when we have the younger Yoona on screen. Honestly, I would also have preferred a younger version of Anna, which would increase the vulnerability and probably make for a better story. She's a grown woman, and so the disconnect between her and the woman claiming to be her guardian is a bit distant to me. A young girl, from 12-17 would have lead to a lot more chaos of course, but I think would be a richer storyline. It would have reinforced Jeha's need to protect an innocent as well.
But instead we have a romance of sorts. It's a darn good thing that we have lots of smoking chemistry between Yoo Jin and Jeha, because this romance really isn't going anywhere.

Hi @ gummimochi. Thanks for another great recap, and so promptly.
I see that once again we have the face been made up scene, and it's poignant somehow that Yoo Jin does it herself, and goes out to look for or at Je Ha. In other sequences as you mentioned in the last recap, Yoo Jin (and Anna) were dressed for battle (made up) by others, but Yoo Jin knows there are also her own personal battles to fight. I sense her feeling of loss as she, dressed with care, and with a special regard for Je Ha, witnesses only as a remote outsider, the camaraderie of the JSS dinner, and the extra care Je Ha shows Anna.
I wonder at her risking alienating her devoted Chief Kim. Offering Je Ha Kim's head without much hesitation does not seem calculated to increase Chief Kim's loyalty towards Yoo Jin. With enemies all around her, Yoo Jin needs to keep her friends. Of course, Yoo Jin knows also that Chief Kim is being a law unto herself, in ordering Je Ha's kill.
I note that Je Ha still hardly sleeps or eats. This is maybe the 2nd meal that's shown to us and goodness knows how long he sat on that roof with Anna. I hope the actor JCW is having better meals and rest times than his intrepid K2 persona.

Among villains, Yoo Jin is about the only one that I've 'rooted for'. I mean, that I find in her such pathos and capacity for change, that it will be a pity if she just goes down as the 'female villain', when her character has great potential for much better.
I actually want her to succeed, not at being evil, but at getting back at her enemies ... although both are probably mutually exclusive in this arena.
I'd like for Yoo Jin to have a friend. She is now more isolated than ever, and loney. I forgot to add a thought about the actual mirror Yoo Jin looks at and the Magic Mirror of Cloud 9. Both offer the truth audibly or visibly, that Yoo Jin can choose to cover up or reveal as in how she hid the red slap mark on her face and covers up her humiliation and the truth of her marriage. In the midst of enemies and hired hands, mirror is her only true 'friend'.

I agree completely Yoo-Jin just needs a few good friends. I suggest the elderly couple from episode 2. I am sure their clothes no longer smell of kerosene. Their farm was burnt to the ground by Yoo-Jin's hired assassin, so I am sure they have nothing but free time on their hands. They understand that Yoo-Jin did not order their deaths directly. She order that anyone who helped K2 should be killed to force him out in the open. Indiscriminately killing innocent people is perfectly acceptable as long as you had a troubled past, are lonely and have a capacity for change. I just hope she can turn herself around before the death toll gets too high. I am also glad that K2 did not befriend a classroom full of children.

There are villains and there are villains. Usually shows make it easy for me to hate villains and not care about their redemption. The layered rendition of this villain gives me a different attitude. She has done evil deeds without compunction, and made a mockery of her 'faith', yet I wonder if going forward she could and would choose differently.
Anna stands on the brink as well. Given the freedom to come out to be heard and seen, she can make her choices to reveal the truth of her mother's death for revenge or for justice. One attitude makes her more similar to her enemies, the other will help her rise above them.
As an armchair-drama-watching person, it's easy for me to sit in judgment to condemn. However the light and dark exists in all characters and there are many choices that can be made. There are anti-heroes and anti-heroines, although I'd rather they were more black or white for my own comfort. Those who are once lost, can be found. The ultimate judge will be the only one who knows for sure who is lost for good.

This episode is my favorite episode so far..
I have always been team JH. His confrontation scene with PKS while it has been overpowered by SYA and JSJ scene in this episode, is still may favorite JCW scene in this drama. There are just too many emotions coming from him during that scene: hatred, rage, guilt, disappointment, failure, disgust, I can go on.. but at the end he was just thinking of ways how to get out of there alive.. The recollection of anna's order for him to come home alive and YJ's request of the same thing, did gave him the will to live.. that was a great performance from JCW.
And SYA as CYJ is just speechless. I can watch her all night, she truly is a discovery for me, I agree she deserves as award for this.
And while I agree on some that ANNA's character is pretty on the weaker side, I have always enjoyed her scenes with JH.. their OTP scenes still does make me flutter all the time, I do see the chemistry, not sure if most of it is because of how JCW carries it , but I am entertained.
And yes, I do adore his explosive chemistry with SYA too. These two, I hope to see them in a drama with them as leads.. they compliment each other..

Ha, they listened to me and got everyone not only guns but finally putting them to use.
And I so knew he couldn't shoot him, I mean what were they thinking anyway, sending a guy with PTSD to kill the big baddie? Hoping for the best? Lol.
And I don't know, that whole mission started quite suspenseful but then the resolution was kinda...anticlimactic and weird? I was left scratching my head when they came out of the room all chummy and thought, what that's it, Representative Park gives him a bag of cash and wishes him a safe trip home? I worried for a moment that they're gonna shoot him or whatever when he's returning to the car but then they just drove away...huh? O...k. Representative Park must have something up his sleeve, right? And Se-joon is now a member of his party? Are they both running for presidency? How?
On another note, how come JH's shirt isn't drenched in blood with a cut like that? And when he asked Anna if she wanted to eat something better I was expecting him to take her to a Subway shop. Oh what a missed PPL opportunity. ?

I'm with you about Operation Kill Park Kwan Soo. It started suspenseful but became anticlimactic towards the end. Also, as someone who'd rather die than lose the presidency, I would've wanted to see PKS a bit more proud and defiant in the face of death than cowering in fear.

Otherwise, I enjoyed this episode, especially all of the big, tough body guards getting pretty.

Song yoona is a legend. I've never seen such a raw, emotional performance - it was like she had become the embodiment of a femme fatale. Hell really hath no fury than a woman scorned.
Im Yoona, as much as I believe her acting had improved, her character just doesn't do it for me. I feel like the development of her and Je Ha's romance was way to fast; like one minute she doesn't talk to anyone and more or less hates the whole world excluding her scumbag of a dad, and then the next, Je Ha is kissing her in the hallway with a blanket over their heads.
The romantic scenes themselves go from 0 to 100 real quick - from cute to downright cringe fest.
Perhaps if the writers integrated smaller scenes of the two of them getting to know each other, then I would feel more satisfied with their romance.
The relationship between Je Ha, Yoo Jin and Yoo jin's husband is the highlight of the whole drama. I was low key waiting for the tension during the argument to get too much (especially when she asked him to touch her) to the point where they just make out but it didn't happen and im still satisfied with the result.
Yoojin obviously harbours feelings for Je ha - i mean I could see the look of contempt she had when Anna and the JSS guys were eating. She looked like she hated Anna's existence. The saddest part is that she so obviously cares for Je ha to the point of offering to kill her beloved secretary, yet he disregards all her affection and still remains suspicious, which is understandable, but tragic nonetheless. I'm rooting for this couple, their toxic chemistry trumps the JeNa couple any day.
Also that secretary is dodgy. Why is she so loyal to Yoojin? Why is she so desperate for approval? She obviously wants yoojin's affection, but at what cost? Her death? Her humiliation? And how far does her loyalty go? To the point of killing all of yoojin's enemies?
And the chairman, he's perhaps scarier than Yoo Jin. He's so cunning and he hides it all beneath a good batted smile - people like him are the most frightening of all. But he's so obviously using Anna and yet she's so stupid that she's letting him string her along with his plan. Like I understand you've been locked up practically your whole life, but are you really that dense that you'll let someone use you so obviously? Even after people are telling you to be careful? Even after being locked up and.knowing how cruel people can be?
I would've preferred it if they made Anna a revenge hungry adult, waiting to avenge the death of her mother with an elaborate plan to do so, than the Anna we have now - scared, coddled and reliant. If anything, being alone for so long, she should be self reliant, not reliant on the whole world. I feel like for a person in her 20s, she's quite...childish. I dunno how to explain it, but she just feels childish.
How the writers are gonna play out this whole tangled relationship polygon, I don't know, but I look forward to it.

There is more than a hint of eroticism in the relationship. It's pretty clear that Secretary Kim loves her boss romantically and Yoo-jin knows it. Secretary Kim has already taken actions without the approval of her boss or even in direct contradiction to Yoo-jin's orders. She tells the ops guys that Je-ha must die right after Yoo-jin says he must be saved at any cost. She's really consumed with jealousy and I wonder how much of Yoo-jin's horrible crimes should really be placed on Secretary Kim's shoulders. She can handle Yoo-jin's unrequited love for Se-joon because he's an evil, philandering, power and money grubbing man and no real threat to her. But she can't handle Yoo-jin's growing attachment to Je-ha because he's the kind of man that might just love her back.

Nicely put. I was being polite when I said 'hint' because no one seems to pick up on it and it was a very important plot element in the last two episodes. Instead commenters seem puzzled by Secretary Kim's behavior. To me it has been apparent since the early episode in the scene where Secretary Kim was applying Yoo-Jin's makeup (or removing it, maybe).

I think that is the case with Secretary Kim as well. Of all the many screwed up relationships in this drama that one is the most toxic, in my opinion. I'm pretty sure that Yoo-jin is full on crazy, but I think Secretary Kim is worse. I also think that she feeds and reinforces the darker aspects of Yoo-jin's personality. That in way absolves Yoo-jin of her actions. However, it does make her seem more similar to Anna in some ways, if it is true.

gummimochi said "Yoo-jin is keenly attuned to Je-ha’s known vulnerabilities, immediately picking up that Je-ha was unable to pull the trigger even though he had Representative Park cornered." I guess a real friendship has already blossomed between whether JH knew it or not, even if there is no deep agape love, but at least while JH watched her back, she started to watch his back, sensed immediately when he was struck, was cornered, and willing to ask her to give up and come back safe. The originally plan I believed should be killing the Wolf King by his own hand with the aids of the JSS guard watching his back, but since it fail. “Saving ‘private K2” should be alone on her mind.
Anna deserved her happy ending, after all is still a damsel in distress, a protagonist. We cannot but acknowledged Yoona did her best, But there’s just that much we can expect from someone gifted and major not in acting to begin with. We cant fault her as she might be better than majority of the idols turned actresses stars. like u said, because the failure in writing depth into this characters, while Yoona may do her lines correctly without mistakes, or deliver her kisses and OTP moments well enough to satisfied legions of fans that exist just to see OTP kisses. but the other half fandom like us, are not satisfied with tis depth, it without move our heart as it like textbook acting. while writernim write almost all roles so shallowly, (even JCW roles) yet it take only the veterans to break out of those limited mould, and Song YA did that alone.

in ep5 moments, when her maiden family dump her and almost rob her of her Priced inheritances, while her husband watched and allowed her to be thrown under the bus, its JH came to the rescue. its not the umbrella or the kinkerchief, it his pat on her back, asking her to lift up shoulder because the wolves are outsdie to devour her.... I guess there’s no men ever touched her ‘physically’ with all sincerely, and this man, dare to touch her at her back, like a friend, strengthening her , watching her back… Back in her car, in ep5, she wiped her tears which was shed for the man she used to loved leaving her alone in the ‘sprinkling wet room, as she let that man out from her heart room, she let this young man in who twice came to her rescue without even her asking, came straight into her heart, with a pat at her back like a friend…
Before he left Cloud 9, he turned around to told her, there’s no master that doesn’t betray her slaves, but a master will never betray her friends… with a twinkling in his eyes, he smiled at SYA, Don’t you agree, Friend? He left the spell bound YJ there, shakened after the first ever taste of real friendship in her life.

SYA shone best in her characters’ vulnerabilities while Anna dim in repetitions of weak characters written and weak portrayal of the weak characters. to know CYJ, you got to put down the prejudice stereotype thoughts that our world is mainly angels or demons. white or black. While many choose Not to see only what their eyes refused to acknowledge, and immediately deem YJ as a villain beyond redemption. Yes, Maybe her characters were originally written to be so shallow and 2 dimensions like the rest, and it take a SYA to make that dead role alive. And CYJ is more than just a cougar eyeing on a young lamb to devour, it’s a wasted life of love, left dying in the scorch mud. And then, a spring of rain of understanding and friendship, and she found life breaking forth from the dead… a bud came late in life, 15 yrs late. Its not her fault to love late in her life again. It will be her fault if she force that bud to flower for her. That’s all. (last word, I hope JeHa understand that and don’t stereotype hate her like some fans behind the screen in our real world. In Reel I know she will pay for her ‘sin’ before she may died in JH arms peacefully. In Real, I want SYA to win Daeksang.
I guess in real life, we are more touched with characters that are neither Angels or Demons. And when YJ is not an Angel, but she is definitely not a Demon the way shallow writernim wrote her, Song YunAh broke forth and claim her own YJ and make her a human. Like you and me. Like some of us, who lost her or his chance in life, and resort to hate and vengeance. Yoona is good in her role portray an angel, but I think the very human me, can only be touched by the flaws human, the chief weakest of them all, Mdm Choi, who wil likely go down the ending in tragic ends.
and Angel still has her happy ending. K2 is a predictable Mount to scale right.

"my heart used to skip a beat whenever you used to touch me". Choi Yoojin.
that is the saddest line in the whole drama.
allow your heart to see beyond that. put aside saying that she deserved all the hates, since its true that every real women dump by real men in our real life just moved on in life, and not an excuse to resort to revenge against the husband who used her. But allow your heart to understand the most tragic victim is none other than herself, in all her grave that she allow herself to sink into as she still wallow in her love of the husband who never loved her. imagine, how much she hate herself for ever felt that tingling sensation when he touched her. until repeated moment of his betrayal of lates. i am not for adultary, will never see beyond JH acceptance of her as a close friend and nothing more. But i think i wish JH to reach out to her soul as a close friend, how tragic is it, to fall in love twice and found yourself twice in unrequited love.

probably just me but Yoojin is bad because she chooses to be one and not because she is out of love, so she can't change because she loves jeha and all SYN gaze to him is the same to other people just with diffeerent background music, intense but selfish, so I don't feel that they are good together.
even changing anna to a kid will make it a cliche madam story,
with Anna, I find them trying to pick up their life , she has nothing and jeha has nothing, their interaction works better for me cause they listen to other and they see each other eye to eye.
so yeah, that's it about the couple.

All i'm gonna say is that that scene on the rooftop was a little too `well acted` to be acted, if you know what i mean. Also Jehas face when Anna was trying to unbutton his shirt, come on dude. Your not that innocent.

two scenes in this episode were absolutely gold when it came to performances.. the slap scene and JH with PKS, gaaahhh, SYA and JCW are good..the numbers of expressions they put in those two scenes were almost unlimited, and they have perfect dialogue delivery that is complimented with gorgeous twisted voices..if only the entire drama was as good as them..
that said, I also liked the otp scenes on different levels..i really liked it when JH said he couldn't buy what she had wanted because he had no money, she really is like this precious piece of untouched pearl in the shell he wishes to protect from all things slightly dark even if it's in himself ( this is why he doesn't open up to her much), I also liked the very brief comforting scene on the rooftop( he finally opened the lock of the gate at least), and while it was not necessarily out of cautious thinking on Anna's part but more of her simple view of complicated matters, her reaction was pretty heartfelt, she didn't ask any further questions acknowledging the pain he was going through , and his twisted it's ok, betraying the tear and then hiding his face in her shoulder was really heartbreaking ( damn it JCW...!), I also loved the new song played at that moment BTW

I still cannot understand the sympathy viewers have for Yoo-jin. She plays the victim card very well, and I can understand characters who don't know everything who might feel sympathy for her. However, those who know even a fraction of the things she has done shouldn't feel sympathy for her. Je-ha certainly doesn't. When she tried to play the victim card previously, he out right told Yoo-jin that she is no better than Park Kwan-soo. While he may have called her friend at one point, I think it was more in the sense of the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I think that Je-ha still sees their relationship as purely a business arrangement, and at this point possibly more of a keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
It seems pretty clear that Yoo-jin is not just a little unbalanced, she is full on crazy. Previously, Sung-won's mother said that Yoo-jin's father did not leave anything to her because he knew she was evil. At the time, it seemed like just a taunt, but know I think it might have actually been the truth. Whether or not Yoo-jin actually had Anna's mother killed still remains a mystery, but it is clear that she has ordered others killed for much lesser reasons, by her way of thinking. Plus, she is clearly planning to have Anna killed for the crime of stealing Je-ha's affections, even though they only belonged to Yoo-jin in her own delusions. Yoo-jin lives in her own twisted reality that has nothing to do with actual facts or events. She justifies all of the bad things she does as being forced upon her by someone else.
I am actually reminded in some ways of I Remember You. Joon-young uses everything that happened in his life as a justification for his murders. He even attempt to prove that his justification by creating another just like himself in Min. Yoo-Jin is not consiously doing the same thing, but unconsciously I think that she feels she will be even more justified if Je-ha joins her and exacts his revenge on Park Kwan-soo. "See, you do exactly the same in a similar situation" seems to be her thought process. I really hope that this topic of whether we are forced to become who we are by our circumstances or by our own choices.

I agree with all of these. Her murderous tendencies is why I cannot ship her with JH, who has been portrayed as a decent and compassionate figure so far and who doesn't hesitate to save anyone, may it be YJ, who previously included him and the people that is around him, in the kill list. She's probably redefining "damsel in distress", as she is playing the victim card well and getting herself saved by JH, while still being a cold and calculating wannabe first lady.

I felt this entire episode filmed with a shaky camera. It was especially noticable during last few minutes of the episode cause there were so many close-ups during conversation between Je-Ha and Yoo-Jin. I feel kinda dizzy watching it.

Well the shaky camera is a new trend on filming action movie. It's common in Hollywood. It's actually nice to watch this drama on a big tv screen than laptop or cellphone.

Guys I found this msg from one of the tweets and I don't know if this is truly came from the PD.... "He said there is no love line between Je Ha and Yoo Jin, not even one sided from her, he says that it's just her good acting that makes her look like she is in love with Je Ha when she is not. She only worries for him. He also says that the way she acts annoyed them this days, because it made people think YJ have love feelings for JH when she doesn't, which causes trouble on the plot because people get the wrong idea. But they can't say to put less effort on her acting, that they can't do that."
What can you say about this guys?

If this is truly from the PD, then I'd say it makes a lot of sense.
One of the reasons I'm firmly rooting for Jeha and Anna is because there is concrete evidence from the drama (via their scenes together, conversation, the way their characters are promoted to viewers etc) that they absolutely are supposed to have a romantic relationship.
Meanwhile, it is very hard to find solid proof that Yoojin's character and Jeha's are supposed to be entangled in some sort of romance. It's simply the combination of Jeha's rescue of Yoojin + Song Yoonah's acting/facial expressions that might imply more than a business relationship (if we can call what they're doing..."business.")
The director/writer should have found a way to curb any misinterpretation of their scenes together, except they haven't. So now people want Yoojin with Jeha even though they weren't meant to have any romantic ties.
I guess this situation just happens sometimes. I remember watching Queen of Reversals with Park Shi Hoo and I believe he wasn't supposed to end up with Kim Nam Joo's character, except their chemistry was so good, the writers decided to change it and have them together even though he's 2nd lead.
For this drama... making Yoojin end up with Jeha would be plot suicide. That would just wreck havoc with the main romance, and maybe even Yoojin's agenda. I seriously hope they do something to hold this in check if there really should not have been any romance between the two.

That's very interesting. I've never thought that Je-ha had any romantic interest in Yoo-jin whatsoever. I was willing to concede that she might have some for him. However, I think from the events of the drama it is just as easy to say that she is concerned for him and cares for him in a non-romantic way. He is the first person, in her mind, who has done something for her without having been order to do so or for any real reason other than just because. When Je-ha saved Yoo-jin from the burning car he did it just because it's not in his nature to let someone die like that. It can be argued that his actions following that were motivated by his need to use Yoo-jin for revenge on Park Kwan-soo, but that first rescue was without any such motivation.

It makes sense, but what a boring plot line this drama REALLY intends to be. I don't ship the couple, but madam Choi's interest in Je Ha makes this drama so much more interesting than what the PD intends it to be. Sigh...SY, you're so MUCH better than the writer nim and PDnim combined, I'm glad you took the role, otherwise I'd have given up on this drama pretty early on.

As things are getting revealed in this drama, it is actually getting more interesting as now we see more of the various characters' personalities and actions.
Speaking of both episodes this week, I really do see why the opening credit is playing chess. The political framework and interwoven relationships of the characters are quite interesting.
It really is like playing chess, where 1 side makes a move and then the other side fires back, but each side advances further in winning the game. All the moves have been strategic and it propels the character further in the story.
Very solid week actually and very interesting cliffhanger for next week.

Yeah, I agree with you about the opening with the chess game. That opening also shows Je-ha sweeping all of the pieces off the board. I am hoping that this mean he will at some point refuse to play their game any more.

Too bad iam currently using a limited device which doesn't allow me to coment on coments #so people lets face it: Whats so long about Anna that you wish her plot line was in another drama? Come on guys, her being there is what inspires K2 to want to stay alive, she's the only person he listens to. #And about Yoo Jin, yes! She is someone who's like the centre of the show, which make think like she's the one who saved Anna and is just pretending to threaten her life only to get Se Joon's attention and loyalty because she needs him in power to obtain JB group. Concerning Anna's mother's death, i think secretary Kim knows better. #kaike

The drama is definitely filled with flaws. But it doesn't make me love it any less. I find Je-ha and Anna to be so sweet and adorable together. I love that their love is portrayed as innocent and pure; plain and simple. It's clear and uncomplicated, which is miles away from the love triangle of Anna's parents. I see the difference and I like that it's different. I wouldn't have it any other way. Thanks for the recap. Looking forward to more K2!

Sorry, I apologize in advance that my question / comment will do nothing to contribute to the episode-related discussion. But... does anyone know what the song playing when Yoo Jin does her makeup and puts on her jewelry is? I tried Shazam, I tried searching on Naver, I tried everything!
On another note, I've been keeping up with what's going on with the current real-life President, and the fact that the two candidates and their families in The K2 are wiggedy-wack seems very accurate.

For me, this drama is going the way of Dr. Stranger. So much potential with so little story.
I don't like or want to root for any of the characters. K2 is an ok guy, but for him, I am not sure what I should root for. His revenge? He stays alive? They leave him alone? He gets the girl?
Anna is too pathetic and shallow to like. Her character isn't that believable. She should either be more competent or more of a basket case given her history. Instead, she is just this sweet, mostly ok, and pathetic girl. Boring....
And everyone else is just creepy. Good acting but creepy.
And there are all these very manufactured crises with no point. Make for great chase and fight scenes but where is the story....

I know their plan.
The writers will first feed us with all the dorky bromance moments, make us fall in love with it. And then tadaa.... they will kill them off. They always do that. Evil spawns.

It seems like the common sentiment here is that most people either dislike the Anna-Jeha pairing or don't find it interesting at all. It's quite a contrast to the K2 Facebook are where people are going all googly-eyed over every cute moment.. I stand on the camp of the former... where I find their relationship completely bland and really wish the writers had given us more back story and more quality interaction between the two of them. Totally agree that what Gummimochi says here that while Anna had asked Je Ha about his past, we leave that scene knowing nothing new about him which is a real pity... 12 episodes in and we know so little quite our male lead except for Rainya..
