We Got Married’s honeybee couple to reunite in drama My Only Love Song

Another We Got Married couple will be reuniting as onscreen lovers next year. In the fourth season of the fake-marriage variety show, CNBLUE’s Lee Jong-hyun (Orange Marmalade) and actress Gong Seung-yeon (Master–God of Noodles) were nicknamed the Honeybee Couple. They have announced that they will be working together on a new youth sageuk called My Only Love Song. It’ll be the first project produced by FNC’s new drama production subsidiary, FNC AddCulture. The umbrella group FNC Entertainment is the talent agency that created and currently manages FTIsland, CNBLUE, and AOA, amongst other famous idol groups.
My Only Love Song is a time-traveling youth sageuk romance about a conceited pop star who believes that status and money can get you anywhere. Gong Seung-yeon has confirmed that she will be taking on this role. She accidentally falls into a time-slip portal and travels to the past, where she meets On-dal, played by Lee Jong-hyun, a man who loves money and will do anything to earn it. However, he has a soft spot for the weak and helpless, and gives to them with a generous heart. It looks like they’re trying to go for the bright, lovely Moonlight Drawn By Clouds vibe crossed with a plot similar to Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Let’s just hope that the Honeybee Couple fares better in ratings than their WGM sunbaes, the So-rim Couple, currently starring in weekend drama Our Gap-soon.
Lee Jong-hyun and Gong Seung-yeon have been in the drama scene for a while as supporting actors, but this will be the first time both are front and center as the main leads. Lee Jong-hyun’s portrayal of a modern vampire in Seolhyun and Yeo Jin-gu’s drama Orange Marmalade garnered him more serious consideration as an actor. Gong Seung-yeon recently won a New Actress Award for her performance in Six Flying Dragons. Together, they had a lot of popularity during their stint as a virtual couple on We Got Married, to the point that there were fan protests when they left the show after five months. If their chemistry holds up, it looks like we’ll have something delightful to look forward to next year.
Youth fusion sageuk My Only Love Song will be 100 percent pre-produced, and FNC has said that they plan to broadcast starting in February 2017. No broadcaster is attached yet.

I am ridiculously giddy about this actually happening, and yeah, they were pretty popular with a very solid core of viewers.
They were endearing. He appeared to fall for her like a ton of bricks, and she came across as kind of unaware of her own charms. He was incredibly affectionate towards her, a complete 180 from his CNBLUE image.
If the chemistry carries through with this show I can imagine it being pretty good. Her acting has improved with every project she's taken on, and if he acts half as in love with her as he did on WGM, they'll do well.

Their fans petitioned MBC and WGM to keep them on the show longer and also to find out the reason they were leaving WGM. The opinion of many was that they had developed real feelings for each other - and that was why they left after 5 months. But the reason finally settled on was that she was filming 6 Flying Dragons and he had his comeback with CNBlue for 2gether and Colors.

I am not a fan of WGM at all and by complete chance stumbled across these two - WGM usually strikes me as two people cheerfully playing house for the audience, but Jonghyun in particular didn't seem like he has much patience for maintaining an image or putting up a front. So his immediate attitude towards Seungyeon was notable.
As for her, she's somewhat new to the public eye when they were on WGM, I think she'd just started airing Grapevine. So she doesn't appear to have a firm image to maintain either - she's far more cautious than he is. And it's kind of cute how completely off-guard she is when he says something outrageously straightforward (him: "what, it's true").
I'm not going to say it's real or fake, only that they were one of the most convincing couples on WGM and if they carry that through to the drama they'll be in good shape.

Eh, isn't that like almost every couple WGM ever had? Viewers hate it when it gets announced and then is frustrated when the couple finally leaves. I dont watch that show and didn't even know they were paired together tbh. Some couples were ridiculously popular, but they def weren't that level.

their pairing was gathering some solid fanbase. had they stayed a wee bit longer, they might've [might is the keyword] the level of popularity as the Goguma (Yonghwa-Seohyun). I do remember a number of articles mentioning fans petitioning for them to stay.

In quite a few polls/contests on different websites they won or beat many of the more established WGM couples like Yongseo, Khuntoria, Solim, etc. During the time they were one WGM their popularity soared very quickly and they still have an active fan base on Soompi anf their own website. Check out gongleeglobal.com. They have a large international fanbase.

Nah. Time-slip basically is sort of a trend right now. Beside scarlet heart and splash love, we also have queen inhyun, dr jin, faith, etc. There are also some shorter-range-time-slip (honestly, these one more like time travel) dramas like nine and operational proposal.

I'm still disappointed that Solim reunited in a a boring drama.? Too depressing..i know it is still in the beginning, but I can see, after so many long and weekend drama that I've watched, how this drama will going.sigh. Now I feel like want to turn back the time when both them still considering the offer, and Kim So Eun decided not to do. Kim So Eun deserves better drama ??
Anyway, I never watch this couple since Solim the only WGM that I really watch, but read many good thing about this couple too.
So hopefully they got better. At least short drama will gain more attention.?

First of all, I'm not even sure why OH GAB SOON is mentioned here since the article is not related to it and also, the article does not really relate to Jae Rim or So Eun. Since we are in the topic, I've actually enjoyed OGS especially after episode 7-8 even though most of the characters frustrate me. Considering it is a family drama and is expected 50 episode, we have to see the characters at their worst to appreciate them more once they start changing for the better. As for So Eun choosing the drama, I thought she's delivering most her scenes fairly well so this could be a good thing for her.
With that said, I am hoping LGH & GSY all the best even though I was never much of a fan of theirs. I believe it is a web drama but I'm not 100% sure.

Ohh chill. When I brought Our Gab Soon here, it is just because they are also WGM alumnies. And yes I do understand every single thing about family drama, please don't assume I don't.And yes I know Kim So Eun and Song Jae Rim both doing well in their role. It is just I feel KSE deserves better chances than keep doing family dramas. (She had done quite a number of long dramas). And as her fan I want to see her move up to prime time dramas, or more challenging role.
I don't wish to discuss further about Gabsoon since it is not related to Honeybee couple, I wish both drama will do well. Because it is a pity if the chemistry they had (both couple ) go waste..

Yay! I don't really watch WGM but I happened to watched their episodes and they really had great chemistry. You can see that they genuinely care for each other. I stopped watching WGM altogether after they left the show even if Yook Sungjae was still there.
It's all the same story again but will try it because of them. Hoping they do well here :)

Mirae's Choice's problem wasn't Yong Wha or any of the actors. It was script and direction that failed. It has good actors in it who performed well, but the script was an accident waiting to happen - and then it did.

I probably should have written a longer comment. The first part of my comment was in relation to this being a FNC production again. And the second part was about my uncertainty if Jonghyun is already ready for the lead role. He was semi-sevicable as the 2nd lead on Orange Marmalade, but lead role is too soon in my opinion. But someone in the comments said it's going to be a webdrama, which is pretty much a playground for unexperienced idol actors so whatever.

I heard about this, and I'm really very happy about it! :) They only lasted half as long as Goguma couple but I really enjoyed their chemistry in WGM. If they had half that chemistry in this drama it would be a hit. Acting wise, I think LJH still needs some work, but like Taecyeon, Im willing to give everybody a chance.
I think the SoLim couple is in a serious family drama which isn't exactly everyone's cup of tea. (Like me, which is why I stopped watching after 5 episodes, and it's just too long for me.)
People always say WGM couples aren't really real. But it's TV, so everyone knows that. Reality shows are never real anyway. Scenarios are fake, though the events between are totally unpredicted. It benefits the couples in the sense that it promotes whatever drama / music they're currently working on, and like this one & SoLim.. it gives them an opportunity to show they have chemistry for future projects.
Now, If Goguma couple gets cast in a drama, OH. MY. GOGUMA.

They weren't on WGM for long, only 5 months, but during that time they did build a substantial following. There were many contests/polls that they won over many other established couples from WGM. For a lot of their fans, they accomplished in those 5 months what many couples on WGM couldn't do in a year or more. They grew extremely close with each other, extremely fast! Everybody says WGM is all fake and scripted, but many who have been on the show have said it is not. The couple's reactions to the situations they are put in are real. And with this couple, the skinship, stares and sweetness between them seemed honest and genuine.

After goguma couple, no other couple seemed good enough for me to watch WGM again. This couple made me come back to watch them on WGM - and I'm glad I did! If you haven't watched them on WGM, you've missed out on something special!

oh yeah??? have you cheked the pages of YONGSEO TREAD on shoompi??? Yongseo has 2 tread wich is sooo crazzzyyyyy i think they will move to tread 3 as soon as possible cuz their delusional is so real and Yongseo shipper has is so manyyyyy they always win voting btw!! the most popular WGM couples!! Since seohyun is from the most popular girls band from south korea, and that time yonghwa is IT BOY after staring your beautiful as Kang shinwoo, their popularity is no joke, NO JOKE, since 2010 till now even their add so many new shipper to that fandom, also Yongseo shipper is super loyal they came to cnblue snd concert, give many expensive gift for like every year in their birthday and many more!!! Gonglee couple is nowhere if you compared to the biggest shipper ever yongseo!!!

Lee Jonghyun is not even close at Yonghwa, minhyuk, doojoon acting level, and this is a SAEGUK???? like whattt are you kidding me!!! Poor Jonghyun never get a good pairing, seolhyun now gong seungyeon? she's not even popular or has good acting skill record, 100 % preproduced drama and has no broadcast station? Seung-yeon is just starting out as an actress, and yet she played really notable roles in the past year with Six Flying Dragons, and then God of Noodles just recently. She was especially commended for her role in Six Flying Dragons as Yoo Ah-in's wife because of her grace and sageuk way of speaking. If you're pretty much aware of her history, she was popular even when she was still a trainee during her days at SM Ent. Obviously, she will not be attached to this project if she's not making a name for herself. The drama would also like to focus on the theme of money and its responsible use. As you know, Lee Jong-hyun was caught in a stock scandal earlier this year (hence the casting). It just so happened also that Seung-yeon is the ambassador of Samsung Security Investment which is a perfect match. FNC is actually lucky they got Seung-yeon to agree with this project considering the amount of bashing she received from some of Jong-hyun's fans during WGM days. Also it is common for dramas to not have any broadcaster yet. Looool. But anyway this one is a webdrama so it will probably air on Naver or other online streaming sites.

He did well in Orange Marmalade as the second lead, and it had a saeguk part. That part as a bad boy vampire fit him very well. I think he has the ability to improve his acting skills. I'm hoping his chemistry with Seung Yeon will make the difference, as opposed to Seolhyun who was his 'little sister' at FNC.

I watched all WGM couples and almost slap my face on every couple whose acting so fake and unnatural, but after watched this couple 1st episode, damn!!! Love was on the 1st sight from JH side, a strong feeling from JH toward shy SY was like....., gah .... its like you an intruder into their bubble.
Iam glad they're have a 2nd chance to have another project together, and I dont care the reason behind this project.

Ooh! I wil definitely check this drama out as I avidly follows their WGM stint! I honestly think these two have amazing chemistry and genuinely fell for each other (why else would GSY allow herself to be bashed again for pairing up with LJH, if not for the chance to work together?)!
Now, I wil be a happy camper if I get Goguma couple and Sungjoy couple in a drama together!

Check out http://www.thetoptens.com/favorite-we-got-married-couples/ Yongseo #1, Lee Jong Hyun and Gong Seung Yeon #2 (by only 1%), Sorim #3. Check out Ranker - they are no.1. In many popularity polls/contests they are in the top 10. Of course, this isn't exact science and very subjective (after all - WGM is meant to play with our emotions!) But the point I want to make is that even though they were only on WGM for 5 months, they made quite an impression with their fans and the media. I am still a Yongseo fan (for over 5 years!), and the 'golden year' of WGM (season 2) but JH & SY have done very well for the short time they were together on WGM!

I love them both in WGM ?you can feel the chemistry but it must've been difficult for them with cameras all around to really express themselves. But you can't deny or block romantic and sexual chemistry it comes out someway somehow. I hope they bring that to the drama that they're both them i'm really looking forward to it ?
