Slow-mo struts and greetings from Cinderella and the Four Knights

It’s not a very long look, but it’s still our first look at upcoming cohabitation rom-com Cinderella and the Four Knights, which recently secured a slot on tvN’s Friday-night lineup and has released a short teaser. It only shows three of the four knights, but even without the last member of the group, they’ve got the attitude and the slow-motion treatment to hang with the best of dramaland’s F4’s. Or should we call them K4?
The teaser video features the cousins and third-generation chaebols played by Jung Il-woo (Records of a Night Watchman), who’ll be the prickly one; Ahn Jae-hyun (Blood), the bad boy; and Lee Jung-shin (Temptation) as the nice one. The lighthearted romantic entanglements begin when a plucky young woman is brought to work at the chaebol house, with additional relationships (and complications, I’m sure) in the form of bodyguard Choi Min (Riders: Catch Tomorrow) and Sohn Na-eun (Twenty Again).
That heroine is played by Park So-dam, who I swear is in the clip even though we barely get a glimpse of her ear in one shot, and the back of her head in another. She’s currently acting in the medical-thriller drama Beautiful Mind, though she filmed Cinderella and the Four Knights, which is fully pre-produced, first (which, if you’ll recall, nearly derailed her participation on Beautiful Mind when shoots ran long).
So far I’m still waiting to see what the plot is, but it looks like a frothy summer romance, which is a type of show I’ll never turn down. Really, I’m just really glad we get to see Jung Il-woo in one more drama before he gets called off for army duty, because it would be sad if Night Watchman were the last thing we saw him in for two years. (Remember how good he could be when the projects were good? Iljimae, Scheduler, Cha Chi-soo? What will it take for you to recapture your old magic, Jung Il-woo?)
Cinderella and the Four Knights will air late on Friday and Saturday nights as a 16-episode drama, and premieres on August 12.

I couldn't agree more about Jungle IL Woo. He is so great when he picks a good drama. Actually , he's great even if the drama is terrible, but I just can't watch (Night watchman). I am really looking forward to this because I've missed him so much.

He did a web drama. It was short, forgettable (I honestly can't even remember the name of it) but it might be an adequate bandaid while you wait for this.

Is it High End Crush? Agree that it's a good prescription for Jung Il Woo withdrawal syndrome. Story-wise, it's super fluffy, but totally recommend it for his bromance with Lee Shi Un.

I highly recommend High End Crush for anyone wanting a short breezy rom-com with high production values - and it is really, really funny at times. The girl was a non-entity in terms of personality, but she didn't even really matter much. This was all Jung Il Woo and his sidekicks. I loved it. Jung Il Woo should always do comedy, he's a natural.

Watching High End Crush at the moment and busting a gut laughing every episode. It's definitely a Jung Il Woo show and it reminds me of his character Cha Chi Soo which was the last time he was in something worth remembering.
Will it be too greedy to hope that Dramabeans does a series recap for High End Crush? Not sure people even know about it since it's a web drama. Hopefully he can be as funny in Cinderella and Four Knights

I am surpise you didn't like the 'The Night Watchman'. I thought it was one of his best dramas along with 'The Return of Il Jami'.
I began to like him in the Night Watchman even though I first saw him in Flower Boy Ramyun.

DramaGods! Please always give oppa good opportunities and scripts. He deserves good drama and movies. I hope he doesn't act as the second lead again. He should be the lead one. I still dont get why he played in "The Moon that embraces the Sun"..
I love these kind of stories. Cinderella ones are my favorite. This shows seems entertaining. ☺☺

P.S Lee Min Ho and Jung Ill Woo are best friends. I think they BOTH leave for army duty near the same time. ????
Two of my favorite actors leaving is so hard. Both of them are having a new drama in hand. But after that it is over.
The thing that saddens me is that Lee Min Ho hasn't been in dramaland for years. So it already felt like he was in army. But now the real army begins and there will be no news from him in soompi threads.
I hope when ill woo comes back,he will have work with good scriptwriters.

Is it bad that I just want this to do well for Ahn Jae-hyun sake? I mean I just want it to prove that youngish k-actors can get married without blacklisting their career.

Yeahhh, tbh if they give his role not so serious/chic like in Blood or You're All Surrounded, I think he'll be fine.
I mean he sorta rocked as sassy lil bro in YWCFTS. Just hope, since he's got Goo-nim already, he will let out more than before ^^

Real Life: The public washroom doors swing open noisily. Four short, sweaty guys with rumpled shirts lumber out, snorting and blowing their noses vigorously into their stained hankies. The thunderous sound of the flush echoes behind them.

Omg, I'm really looking forward to this, mainly because:
- tvN
- pre-produced (no chance of extended eps, which I find almost always ruins the drama's pace)
- Cha Chi Soo!
- Park So Dam is so cute - I really liked the little I've seen of her in Beautiful Mind (which I haven't continued after ep4 because I couldn't stand her character). Even though her character was written badly, I felt like she did a pretty good job with what she was given
- eye candyyyyyyyyyyyy oh God I can foresee the fanwars already

Seriously, I can't say no to this man.
He is my ultimate eye candy.
Eventho his latest projects didn't impressed me and I will be waiting (like forever) for him to take brilliant-heavy-themed series like Signal/Misaeng/LiarGame, but I enjoy his comical acting in light rom-com.
And I believe in tvN - fingers crossed so this drama won't be a meh romcom.

I LOVE Jung Il-Woo. I don't know what it is about him that draws me but I'll watch anything with him in it, even if it's bad. I even found Records of a Night Watchman weirdly entertaining because of him. Even if this show is horrible I'll still happily watch this.
