Yoon Ji-hye joins Entourage as Jo Jin-woong’s wife
by girlfriday
Okay, this actually isn’t a huge role, but the casting makes me excited because Yoon Ji-hye (Jackpot) and Jo Jin-woong (Signal) shared a cute side loveline in the movie Kundo: Age of the Rampant, and now they’re going to reunite as a married couple in tvN’s remake of Entourage. Jo Jin-woong plays a high-powered agent to a movie star — Ari Gold in the original HBO series, which makes Yoon Ji-hye Mrs. Ari (I know, that show was on for years but she was always called Mrs. Ari).
HBO’s Entourage is about a group of boys living it up in Hollywood when one of them makes it big as an actor, and the remake will transplant the same setup to the Korean entertainment industry. Seo Kang-joon (Cheese in the Trap) plays Vince’s counterpart, the big movie star; and Park Jung-min (You’re All Surrounded) co-stars as the Eric character, the best friend manager.
Lee Kwang-soo (Dear My Friends) and Lee Dong-hwi (Answer Me 1988) round out the entourage as Johnny Drama and Turtle’s characters. Also co-starring are Ahn So-hee (Heart to Heart) as Seo Kang-joon’s first love, newcomer Kim Hye-in as Park Jung-min’s girlfriend, and f(x)’s Amber as Jo Jin-woong’s assistant.
Yoon Ji-hye’s character is described as a beautiful, charismatic woman with a cool and refreshing personality, who’s got her husband under her thumb. Heh. I do remember that Ari’s character was always running around yelling at people all day like he was the boss of everyone, and then went home and never once could win an argument with his wife.
Yoon Ji-hye is particularly great at playing sassy, powerful women, so it’s pretty perfect casting. In Kundo, she played a badass archer who had a cute love triangle with fellow bandits Jo Jin-woong and Ma Dong-seok, and I just remember both burly guys being all fidgety and shy around her, while she sassed them with this great deadpan face.
Entourage began shooting today in a club in Gangnam, and plans to complete production by August for a simultaneous broadcast in Korea and China. It’s tentatively slated for a late October Friday-Saturday broadcast on tvN, but in a late-night timeslot (presumably for its risqué content, though we’ll see about that).

Yay! Love them both in Kundo. Good to see them reunite in a drama. Hope the writer will give her more to do.
Yoon Ji-hye has very limited screen time in Jackpot but she makes it count.

I'm excited for this. She's really good. Hope they can expand her role into something more, like they did in High Society. I read that she was supposed to have a very minor role in that drama but they expanded it when they saw how good she was. I can't wait to see this drama!

So much NOT into this super-hyped drama. The only reason I will give it a try is for Jo Jin-woong.

I was looking for a good reason to watch this drama. i hope all supporting casts will have more screentime. I am willing to watch just for supporting casts like Jo Jin Woong, Yoon Ji Hye and Lee Kwang Soo.

Me too, but it'll probably be dominated by those tedious flower boys.

yeah. I think this will be another flower boys drama..lee kwang soo will be given another funny and idiotic role, wasting so much his big talent in acting, anyone who watch Puck, Dear my friends, Confession, knows what I was saying.
The production probably try to take advantage of his popularity in china and strike for seo kang joon instead. Uhh..I just hope they do justice to Lee Kwang soo n Jo jin woong.

Yes, this. We get to watch them try on the angst (so difficult when so much of the face is plastic) and learn the craft so they can eventually become somewhat good at what they do.

Ari was the show stealer in the original imo. Jeremy Piven won 3 emmy awards in a row for his portrayal of Ari.
I'm pretty sure Jo Jin Woong will own it too.
It's not a small role. I'd be worried more about the other flower boys who can't act.

If you are talking about Seo Kang Joon..haha he is actually a good actor. He is a rookie but he is good. Saw him lately in his latest, he was better than the lead. My opinion so no offense.

There is nothing offensive at all in your comment.
I think he's charming as heck but green for a leading man. Hope he'll prove me wrong.

his profile. Looks like he is not too green. He has many acting projects already both on tv and film. I have seen him only on Cunning Single Lady and Cheese in the Trap. He was a scene stealer in both dramas.

I used to be so hyped over the remake of Entourage, but then put off by the male lead with whom i never able to relate with the character he portrayed in 3 of his dramas that I watched. But now... uffff, guess I'll watch for Mr & Mrs Ari then.
