Han Ji-min drops tvN fantasy romance Tomorrow With You

Aha, well now it makes sense how Ji Chang-wook’s potential new drama K2 is looking to be moved up on the broadcast schedule this fall, because the show that was previously aiming for the same timeslot, Tomorrow With You, has just lost Han Ji-min (Hyde, Jekyll, Me) as prospective leading lady and is facing a delay as a result.

I hope it’s only a minor blip for Tomorrow With You, because the premise seems interesting: Described as a “sweet and savage fantastic romance,” it centers around an “unstoppable couple” in a time-traveler and his lively wife, and their love story in their newlywed days and beyond. Not much to go on, but I’m intrigued by the sound of it, and with the Oh My Ghostess and High School King of Savvy director, PD Yoo Je-won, onboard, I expect a show that’s quirky, hilarious, and heartwarming. Writing is Heo Sung-hye of melodrama series Full Sun and the movie All About My Wife.

Tomorrow With You was looking at the next available Friday-Saturday timeslot to follow The Good Wife (which follows Dear My Friends), which would have set its premiere in September. And set to follow that in November was Gong Yoo’s Goblin from writer Kim Eun-sook. Now tvN has confirmed that Tomorrow With You will be delayed, and that the post-Good Wife schedule is now being reworked.

That’s because aside from these shows, tvN also has Jung Il-woo and Park So-dam’s romance Cinderella and the Four Knights, careerwoman success story Woman With a Suitcase, and HBO remake Entourage to find timeslots for. Must be nice to be tvN, swimming in a sea of potential shows.

Hi, tvN, there's a couple we want reunited that's also related to time-travel in their past project, and they're both regulars in your network. *hint hint*

...and y'all better cast them as a couple this time! NOT siblings!

(doesn't hurt to be specific)

....and when I say 'NOT siblings', that means ANY kind of siblings that grew up together, drama gods better not try to Autumn In My Heart Us here.

They're talking about a Splash Splash Love reunion. Yoon Doo-Joon and Kim Seul-Gi.

I haven't even seen the show and I know it's them because their names come up as suggestions by beanies in every damned new rom-com.

LOOOOL! WHAT??

Nah,they are talking about Dr Jin and the fetus in Time Slip Dr Jin. The fetus fell in love with Dr Jin while residing in his head. That was a tragic love story. Doomed to be together, but never apart. Oh, wait that was MBC...oh, well, I can wish, right.

You certainly deserve a script better than Remember. ;)

Ngl the time-traveller and wife premise sounds fun, but I'm simultaneously a bit tired with the male in the couple always being the time traveller (seriously, from The Time Traveller's Wife to Queen In-Hyun's Man), I mean couldn't we switch things up a bit for once? It feels like the same concept has gotten recycled dozen and dozens of times, no matter how unique each take may be.

Well, Scarlet Heart Goryeo has the woman in it being the time traveller. I would have said Faith as well, but that drama...

Surprisingly you have a couple time traveling dramas where the women are the travelers. Marry Him if you Dare, Scarlet Heart Goryeo, Splash Splash Love, Faith, and Gods Gift 14 Days all feature women who time travel. There may be more but those are the ones that come to mind.

I still get what Fish N' Ships is saying. Because in all of those circumstances, they never really get to manipulate time or even choose to time travel. Dude in Faith dragged her back, BBXJ(prolly new one?) random accident, SSL random, in GG14 time rewinding=/=time travelling, plus got her heroics upstaged...Didn't even make it that far into MHIYD so idk. Anyway, OP is probably saying it'd be cool to have a female time-TRAVELER not just randomly "winning" a time-slip raffle ticket. A time traveller with some...not even worth a buzz word like agency, but at least a sense of purpose ala QIHM or 11.22.63 would be cool. Not just oh hey time travel, let me assimilate almost entirely off screen (glares at BBJX (hope the new one avoids this)). Plus the others don't really count when time travel is part of a gimmick or suffered from terrible writing in general, let alone time travel bits. I apologize for this rambling rant.

^^ Yup, my sentiment exactly, thank you for wording it much better than I could. Faith and others did come to mind when I was writing that comment but, like you said, I really just wish we had more time-TRAVELLERS rather than time...victims lol.

I'd like to mention one more - the gutsy fetus that traveled back in time with Dr Jin, in style, in the good doctor's head.

I actually hoped JCW was offered Tomorrow With You because the story seems promising and I like writer's past work (Full Sun). While K2 has Yongpal's writer, I'm not sure s/he is good writer, though s/he brings ratings but Yongpal is widely known for PPL and lack of coherent plots in the second half of the drama.

I'm just saying TVN, how about giving a chance for some underrated actress like Yoo In Na, Park Ha Sun to be the lead in this drama? I want to mention Kim So Eun too but not sure if she is suitable for this role. They are better than Han Ji Min, in my opinion.

To tvn we have out faith ?

I love your comment. I don't think that I will miss Han Ji Min, I'm glad she declined.

tVN is the "in" station right now?

Funny, I'm also glad she declined but for the opposite reason. She already has a time-traveler role under her belt. She doesn't need another. The plot sounds played out and she deserves a fresher role.

Ah interesting! I had somehow missed the Four Knights pickup news. That TVN snagged it is a sign to me it's probably very well done. This show however, I can't say I'm disappointed by the casting change. I was pretty underwhelmed by everyone's work in Jekyll. I know the material was not good but you would hope the actors could make something with it.
