Lee David joins rom-com-horror drama Bring It On, Ghost

We’ve got another casting for Bring It On, Ghost, with Lee David (Mirror of the Witch) joining the rom-com-horror drama that pairs a ghost and an exorcist who end up living together, fighting together, and falling in love. It’s a quirky premise without an obvious ending in sight (at least, in a romantic sense), so I’m definitely intrigued by that fundamental conflict.
This will mark a reunion between Lee and ghost-heroine Kim So-hyun—or, to be more accurate, a second reunion. They’d played high school classmates in Who Are You—School 2015, and also acted together in the 2016 movie Unforgettable, which also starred D.O.
The drama has cast Taecyeon (Who Are You) to play the lead who can see ghosts and successfully rids other people of the spirits haunting their homes, yet is unable to get rid of the one camping out in his. She (Kim So-hyun) is the spirit of a 19-year-old girl who only ever studied but never got to take her college entrance exam, which is the lingering grudge that turned her into a ghost. (HA.) Of course, once she is a lingering soul, she finds that there’s more to life than studying.
Lee David plays the vice president of a “mystery club” named Ghost Net, of which our hero Taec is also a member. He’s a meticulous scholarship student in the electronic information department, with excellent intelligence-gathering skills, and lives out of the club room. Okay, so studious and a little eccentric—I can see that. Lee’s got a Quiet Model Student written all over him, though he’s also currently putting in a turn playing an ineffectual puppet king in Mirror of the Witch. So maybe he doesn’t quite have the look of power about him, but I’m sure he can work his way up to that.
Bring It On, Ghost will follow Oh Hae-young Again as tvN’s next Monday-Tuesday drama, beginning in July.

Well, how bad is he?, ive only seen him in on Dream high. The acting was pretty bad but he was a beginner, in a scale of 1 to 10 how much did he improved?

I've only seen Taec in Dream High and considering most of the other student actors (except Kim Soo-Hyun) were bad he kinda blended in. So I don't have any strong like or dislike for his skills.
But the problem I have with Taec being cast is in the webtoon the character he is playing was supposed to be 17 years old. He definitely doesn't pass as a 17 year old. He will also be romancing a girl who is not even legal and 11 years younger then him. That's what is getting me upset. We have plenty of younger actors around Kim So-Hyun's age but were passed up for an idol.

All I can really say for him is it seems like he actually wants to be an actor--his project choices have been a bit more eclectic/earnest than most of his idol peers (President, Assembly, Wonderful Days are all examples of this)....but he hasn't improved much at all lol. He's so bad it's almost endearing, though, like Song Seung-heon.

Maybe a 2.5 if I'm being very generous. And definitely not lead role material, even after his 'improved' performances.
Him wanting to be an actor is a bit like an elephant wanting to do ballet - someone ought to advise against it, but didn't.

I... can't I unread all news about taec confirming his role? Can't I think that this drama hasn't cast its male lead? I suddenly want to get amnesia now...

I guess from a kdrama point-of-view, the premise sounds interesting/new. However, it feels a tad familiar with some shoujo manga I've read. That, or perhaps this is the type of plot that wouldn't be so unique in a manga/anime story.

He should have been cast as the high school ghost exorcist lead not Taec. Congrats to him. I'm still out. My adoration of KSH and the whole premise is not emough to watch a little girl be romantically paired with a grown man. I'm so sad because of that I can't with MOtW or the upcoming Moon whatever with PBG.

what's so wrong with Park Bo Gum and kim Yoo Jung pair?! They only have like six years age difference and it is the same for Kim So Hyun and Ji soo. They were paired together in Page turner, didn't we love them and root for them?!

I was really sad at first when I knew Taec was the lead male, bcs I was overly excited when Kim So Hyun confirmed to be female lead. Anyway, the plot sounds so fun and my expectation is building up again. and looking at the manga, Bong Pal looks similar to Taec, so I hope he can outdoes his previous project and do well this time.
Cant wait to see So Hyun as a sassy ghostie in a rom com drama which requires her action skillss yeah!

I'm not sure I can watch Kim So-hyun and Taec living together, bickering, and falling in love... no, no, and NO. And I've only seen this actor in School 2015 and he's left a far more memorable impression than Taec ever did in all those years(starting with Cinderella's Sister 2010?).

I'd rather have David be the lead, tbh. Taec just feels so out of place. Since he'll also be a member of this mystery club, I guess they're not changing the character age.
I just want Taec to surprise me now because everything's been confirmed.

seriously, what drugs was the casting director for this one on when they chose male leads? I'll gladly pay for rehab, if it means no more of these cringe pairings.
Lee David is a cutie, I wish he'd been the lead instead. I don't know why tvN couldn't have cast him, considering they generally aren't shy of casting total unknowns as long as they're talented - why is this drama the one where they did the opposite?

This is the second drama that sounds really good (the other being moonlight drawn by clouds) where there's an age gap between leads. Although Park Bo Gum is only 22 so it's not as drastic. I just feel like it's hard to watch when they're acting with 16 year olds (who are by no means bad actors-I loved Kim Yoo Jung in Angry Mom) I feel like there's a lot you can't do with an age gap like this. I just hope the rest of the drama will be good because I can't see myself enjoying the romance side.

At least Taecyeon has a handsome face, attractive, sexy ect ects.... perhaps his acting is still awkwards , not like the lead male in Good bye mr.black.....

I think the Female lead is more suitable for kim sae ron since i watch High school love on, is Kim soo hyun has a same hair style in every drama she play? kinda boring
