Jo In-sung and Go Hyun-jung’s whirlwind romance in Dear My Friends

We finally get a glimpse of Jo In-sung (It’s Okay, It’s Love) making his “special appearance” in tvN’s new Friday-Saturday series Dear My Friends, where he’ll romance Go Hyun-jung (Queen’s Classroom). The two of them went to Slovenia and Croatia in March to shoot their love story, which looks idyllic and sweet in the teasers. But there’s also a tinge of nostalgia in the way that the relationship is presented, which I hope doesn’t mean there’s tragedy hiding around the corner; I just get nervous when things start out happy right away!
The new drama from writer Noh Hee-kyung (It’s Okay, It’s Love, That Winter, the Wind Blows) is filled with a star-studded cast of veterans and calls itself a love song to twilight youth, celebrating a different kind of coming-of-age story that features senior citizens. It’s going to be told with a lot of wit and sass, and stars the likes of:
Kim Hye-ja (Unkind Women), Na Mun-hee (Feel-Good Day), Yoon Yeo-jung (Wonderful Season), Shin Gu (Grandpas Over Flowers), Go Du-shim (Strange Daughter-in-Law), Park Won-sook (My Daughter Geum Sa-wol), Joo Hyun (Heart to Heart) and Kim Young-ok (Please, Mom). Sung Dong-il and Lee Kwang-soo will also make special guest appearances.
In the first teaser for their romance, Jo In-sung and Go Hyun-jung dash towards each other in the street as he shouts, “Let’s… get married!” She teases him from her window and they’re laughing together, but then he asks in voiceover: “Are you just going to leave like last time?” In the second teaser, she holds him in her arms as he cries, then over images of their happier times, she wonders in voiceover: “Are you… still waiting for me here?”
It seems like that marriage proposal might not go so well for him, but they’ve certainly made me curious about how they went from giddy declarations of love to hints of heartbreak and longstanding regret. Did she leave him behind in Croatia? Well I’d have regrets about that too.
Dear My Friends is a Friday-Saturday drama following Memory, and premieres May 13.

Isn't he only appearing as a special guest?! If so - I'm afraid this does not bode well for his character. Coz Kdrama laws says so.

According to drama wiki, Jo In Sung is not listed on the top of the cast, so I think girlfriday is right. Jo In Sung is only appearing as a special guest.

Kwang-Soo and papa Sung Dong-il will be special guests as well, Noh Hee kyung was the director of Its Ok That's Love so I believe this is why they made a special appearance. The main casts are mainly veteran/older actors, and personally I'm looking forward to Yeon Yeo-Jung since she's one of my favorite Noonas. Also, how refreshing it is to have a drama of older as the leads and have their story told as well. I'm expecting to use a great amount of tissues while watching this. This is a REUNION of the Spring Days (2005) stars Go Hyun-jung and Jo In-sung. Good gosh.
That drama was heavy for the heart too. How about this one? Oh I see 'That Winter' writer... must be heavy.

Ugh, nothing is worse than someone who can't commit or be honest. If he is confessing his love for her, she should either commit or break it off completely.
I feel bad seeing him cry. No one is that special to lead someone on.

Ack! I don't know if this is going to be a main storyline or just a cameo, but I love it so much! Usually not a fan of noona romances, but when the noona is Go Hyun-jung I am so there. (Especially since the younger guy is JIS. Now that's a man and not a pretty boy who doesn't know how to handle a mature woman.)

I actually forgot this drama was in the making, just the cast alone is enough to make me want to watch this. Now that we're teased with JIS and GHJ, I'm getting all excited again. Ahh to see JIS on my screen again, even if it's just a special cameo.

Jo In-Sung is one of my favorite actors of all time, and It's Ok, That's Love was quite a bit ago, so I'm really looking forward to this!
On the other hand, discussing story reminded me of Discovery of Love, where the girl left the guy because he was sort of inattentive and a jerk. However, an external force seems to be propelling them apart rather than an internal one, and that's....just not good conflict. In all old-case dramas, it's the stepmother, or sickness, or some other stupid reason that gets them apart. While I don't think something THAT old fashioned will happen here, external is just sketchy. There are good external cases, but most of the best are internal.
Either way, I'm gonna watch this. Go Jo In-Sung, for FINALLY doing another drama!

Really? For me, Discovery of Loveis completely based on internal conflicts. The only reason they broke up in the first place and the reason they (her) kind hate each other when they meet years later is because they didn’t talk to each other, but during the drama they were learning how to lower some barriers and actually talk.
I never thought that Eric character's as Jerk, I think you use the right word inattentive, he need a little of consideration for her girlfriend, but I'd hardly call him a Jerk.
But anyway, yes reminds me a little Discovery of Love, and hope it will be good as much.

After watch their scenes, i just hope that these Spring Day Couple can act together again as the leads in the full drama or movie cause JIS is just a cameo here.. GHJ and JIS acting and chemistry are no joke !!!

Yes you are right ( flower ) #gohyunjung & #zoinsung chemistry on screen are capable enough that they both good has an actors. And i might happy as well to read all the comments here that they favored this couple since spring days, i was thought that am the only one who hooked with them.

I cannot believe there's no mention of Springs Days in the article. Haha! I love that drama, and I definitely shipped these two huhuhu. THANK YE DRAMA GODS FOR THIS REUNION.

All IOIL enthusiast looks forward to JIS_GHJ, but GHJ should be Gong Hyo JIn, not Go Hyun Jung. JIS-Go Hyun Jung is a mismatch. Go Hyun Jung is pretty but too old for JIS. If Gong Hyo Jin is too busy for JIS, he should look for another pretty woman closer his age
