Ji-soo joins Doctors as Park Shin-hye’s first love

Aw, but who would ever get over her first love if it were Ji-soo (Page Turner)? The up-and-comer has been cast in the new SBS medical drama Doctors, where he’ll play a childhood friend with a one-sided love for our sassy heroine Park Shin-hye (which I guess technically makes her his first love). Puppy crush is pretty much Ji-soo’s specialty, since he broke out in Angry Mom as the puppy with a crush on Kim Hee-sun, and then played the puppy with a crush on Jung Eun-ji in Sassy, Go Go, and is scheduled to play the puppy with a crush on IU in Scarlet Heart: Goryeo later this year.
Doctors is about a cynical wayward heroine with a gangster past, who learns to open up to other people and eventually become a good doctor. Park Shin-hye plays the prickly neurosurgeon who carries scars from her youth (ack, does something bad happen to Ji-soo?), and the drama will be about her growth and transformation as she meets a mentor.
Her mentor will be played by Kim Rae-won (Punch), a neurosurgeon and professor who’s warm and kind and loved by all. Lee Sung-kyung (Cheese in the Trap) is up to play the heroine’s rival since their school days; Yoon Kyun-sang (Six Flying Dragons) is considering a role as a chaebol heir who becomes a doctor as an act of rebellion and falls for Park Shin-hye; and Kim Min-seok (Descended From the Sun) will play another neurosurgeon who also has a crush on her. I’m seeing a pattern here.
All we’re told about Ji-soo’s character is that he’ll have a one-sided love for Park Shin-hye in their youth, and he’ll leave a big impact on her. Aieeee, that makes me nervous already. Why does dramaland always insist on breaking this poor boy’s heart?
Doctors follows Jackpot on Mondays and Tuesdays beginning in June.

So far, I haven't read any article about Yoon Kyun Sang officially confirmed taking a role in 'doctors'. But if I'm not wrong, his role as a chaebol neurosurgeon still hasn't been taken by anyone else.
Kim min seok will be playing the blogger role and Ji soo as PSH's first love. I guess Yoon Kyun Sang could still be the second lead

My second ever K-drama was He's Beautiful and I thought it was ridiculous that A.L.L the boys fell for her. I felt it was too much. I thought at least Jeremy should have had his own love-line, independent from the love triangle. I didn't know then that it's the case of many K-dramas...
I can't believe the one-sided loves in this drama are even more than the ones in He's Beautiful. Is it better? worse? I don't know.
Yep, it's PSH's second reverse harem, I suppose? (Thank God neither Yoon Chan Young nor Jo Myung Soo fell for her in The Heirs).
Anyway, as impossible as it is to choose among these 4 gorgeous men (1man & 3boys?), I think I can understand if PSH chooses Kim Rae-won over everyone else :)
P.S: I TOTALLY agree with you :) at least Ji Soo has Kim So Hyun (though my heart breaks a little for Shin Jae Ha)

Let me be honest I never understood the hype about ji soo in DB (I never saw angry mom or sassy go go) but....
My view shifted to 180 degree after page Turner... he is like a big tall guy with a big puppy heart... I loved his carefree acting..
The background story is not that interesting but they do have nice cast assembled...so I'm on board....

To understand the hype (and understand our feelings for our puppy) there really is nothing else to do but watch Angry Mom or Sassy Go Go. You might be pleasantly surprised by the intensity and depth of his performances there.

i haven't watched Angry Mom either.. but ironically.. that is where i got to know him.. as i like Kim Yoo Jung... i planned on watching the Drama and saw some clips of them together and i totally ship him with KYJ.. to bad he fell for her mother instead... haha... so i moved on and just watched Sassy Go Go... his character there is so loveable as well... but he once again is a heartbreaker... not getting the girl and all.. T_T
so Page Turner.. this time he better get a happy ending... haha.. :D with Kim So Hyun..

I saw him in Sassy Go Go.....he played well there leaving a strong impact with the character. Here, he will be in company with two others with one sided love for Hye Jung! Wow! Can't recall so many characters in love with the female lead.. :lol...and ......we have not even counted KRW's character as the mentor in this mix.
Also....he is the only one not belonging to the neurosurgeons fraternity...
Like this addition to the cast! ...:)

plus,i don't think KRW will have a loveline with her.reports so far only states that it's a mentor/patient relationship.I think the person the heroine will fall for will be either YKS or KMS.Kim rae won's character is only going to turn her life for the better not fall for her

I would most probably like the pairing that goes well with the storyline, where the characters mesh well too and most of all where there is palpable chemistry. More chances of it happening with KRW with his experience BUT YKS has been memorably impressive in both Pinocchio and 6FD.
Thus it boils down to how their characters are written, their relationships evolved and how they are played by these three leads...KRW, Shinhye, YKS.

He made an impact as Moo Hyul the best swordsman in Joseon in 6FD extremely well too. It was remarkable that when watching him I was not reminded of his Pinocchio character at except thinking afterwards what a good actor.....that's saying a lot. He totally owned this character too. That's why I really look forward to this neuro surgeon one too
Maybe rather most probably this will be a first one with him in love line too...

As much as I love that he's establishing himself slowly, I wish he just gets a drama of his own already! In every drama he's been in, he played my fav character and was so darn fantastic at it too. This drama is a bit iffy to me; the premise sounds so been-there-done-that. Moon Lovers or whatever that's called sounds even worse. If anything I suppose Ji Soo will learn a whole lot from Kim Rae-won. He's amongst the best costars any young actor could ask for.

I've been watching Ji Soo and Nam JooHuyk (Cheese in the Trap) doing their stint in Celebrity Romance. (I know, guilty pleasure). The last three episodes left me with the impression that I was watching a mukbang paired with a traveling musical. He is such a "guy." He is 23 yrs old but still seems very much a teenage boy. I think that is why he is still in puppy crush territory. But give him a couple of years and he'll be a terrific lead.

Ohho! That would actually be a great premise for a very meta- drama: the story of a young actress who had been successful from an early age, but then she's suddenly paired with the hottest, cutest up-and-comer costar and actually falls for him. It'll make his career but wreck his career (handwaving this) and that generates all the drama.

Me thinking that JS will be the heroin's catalyst that will be the turning point in her life. From gangster like character to someone with strong desires in becoming a doctor.

I can't wait for him to get the girl at the end :( and I also can't seem to have enough of him, is not only his face, is also his beautiful acting which mesmerizes me. In Page Turner this guy made me cry lots of tears with only one scene, he's always so good in his roles, he's an outstanding actor. I know he's only beginning and climbing to the top in dramaland takes its time but I can't wait until it happens. I hope it'll happen soon ^^

Darnit, the plot basically spoils it for us that something bad will happen to Ji-Soo's character and make Park Shin Hye's character want to become a doctor. Omg, incurable disease?! Hate those!!!
