Jeon Ji-hyun in talks to star in new drama from You From Another Star writer

This would certainly be a coup: Jeon Ji-hyun is considering her next project, and it could reunite her with her You From Another Star writer, Park Ji-eun (also The Producers), who has been planning a new drama with PD Jin Hyuk (Master’s Sun, City Hunter) that is also courting Lee Min-ho (Heirs) for his last drama before heading off for his two-year military service. Basically, at every part of that sentence I was saying, Yes, yes, yes, and yes.

Jeon’s management has stated that no decisions have been made yet, as they are still in talks. But it’s exciting to hear that Jeon is even considering another drama series, given how until You From Another Star, it had been over a decade since her last one, and she’s primarily been a film actress (and CF queen). But perhaps You From Another Star’s massive success was enough to convince her to stay in dramaland for a while, and she’d be working with with a writer she knows she can trust for winning material. The Chun Song-yi character positively sparkled, and Jeon was pretty fantastic being confident, sassy, and hilarious — just think if they could re-create that magic…

There’s no word on the story or premise yet, but the producers plan to go for either a fully pre-produced or half-pre-produced format. (One very real benefit to Descended From the Sun’s unequivocal success is that now everyone’s eager to give pre-production a try, and I’m all for giving shows more breathing room in the production process.) It’s only been two months since Jeon gave birth to her first child, but if this casting goes through, she’d be back in front of cameras in mere months; the drama is looking for a broadcast in the latter half of the year on SBS.

This comment section is a mess of fangirls. Jesus Christ.
I like JJH but for me she has never done a role that's exceptionally challenged her. I don't know why but I feel like she picks roles that cater to her. Not a bad thing but it's just my thought.
LMH at least is nice to look at. Plus his height would match JJH well.

I really dun want her paired with another actor SEVEN years younger. At this point Jo In Sung, Hyun Bin or even Song Joong Ki will be awesome. Enough of the BIG age gaps already.

I don't like it either, but remember--it's acting.

Ironically Song Joong Ki actually looks even younger than Lee Min Ho. I think Jo In Sung would be a good match though!

They would look so good together. And afaik he'd be available since he doesn't have another movie or drama going on. Hyun Bin and So Ji Sub are busy with filming their movies, so of any A list actors that were mentioned in earlier comments, he would probably be the most realistic choice.
So drama gods, please give us this pairing!

Wow. I love both of them but don't know how the chemistry would be. Still they're both gorgeous and MLFAS and BOF were 2 of my favourite dramas. Will definitely watch. Wonder why though that K-dramas seldom use couples who have acted together in the past and have proven chemistry.

Am I the only one who noticed that Lee Min Ho has been suffering from a swollen face for quite a while now? I remember him saying it's got to do with his liver problems. Instead of accepting another project, I think he should take a break before military service starts.

It's safe to say that I'm no hater of both JJH and LMH.

I love her in My Sassy Girl, Windstruck and My Love From the Star but I think her acting was forgettable in her less popular works like Daisy, The Uninvited and Il Mare. She was ok in The Berlin File and The Thieves.

I love LMH in BOF, Personal taste, Gangnam Blues and City Hunter, not so much in Heirs. Did not even finish Faith because his chemistry and KHS's acting both stink. No way I'm rewatching his Line web movie. It was pure meh.

Maybe their chemistry will work if its romcom or action. I doubt with melodrama or a period piece but I'm happy to eat my words if they can both pull it off. After all, they made me love a lot of their works :)

Don't know why one is regarded as a "hater" if one doesn't think a certain actor/actress isn't a good or only an average actor (same for writers).

I've long been a JJH fan, but her acting has varied in quality and even w/ her best work, she isn't going to be regarded as one of Korea's best thespians.

Yay for Lee Min Ho but Nay to Neon Ji Hyun's casting. Honestly I was really looking forward to his comeback drama only for them to cast her as his female lead. I tried so hard to like her acting in MLFTS but was less impressed and I couldn't even finished it. I fins her acting a bit boring to watch.
I really hope the production will cast a more suitable age actress (most importantly they must have on the top chemistry together) for LMH in the drama.

Looking forward to it but why are jjh's fans hating on lmh,it's not like the drama is confirmed be patient you might get your wish and it will be declined then you can pair her with your perfect definition of a good actor.
He can carry his drama by himself and it will turn out to be a hit,no need trying to pull someone down and call it an opinion.

I'm here for Jeon Ji-Hyun, but I'm not sure about Lee Min-ho. I think it would be nice to put her with another actor who allows her to shine.

Maybe someone older too. If not someone older, then someone younger, but someone else.

This news has me so excited. After My Sassy Girl, the only other thing I watched Jeon Ji-hyun in was You From Another Star, so I definitely haven't seen her in a wide variety of things, but she always gives me the impression that she's putting her all into her character, and milking every moment for what it's worth. Which can't be taken for granted, especially with seasoned actors and actresses who can easily fall into acting in a habitual way, drama after drama or movie after movie. (Well, maybe she has her own formulaic go-to motions, too, but that doesn't detract from the pure enthusiasm she poured into her YFAS character.)

Re: the negativism in a lot of the comment threads.. I think the best thing really is just to skim over and ignore the nastier ones, if one can--that way no fuel is added to the fire, and we can return to some peace and quiet... Sure, a comment section is designed to invite commentary, and this will be enough to attract both constructive and non-constructive remarks, but it might be more effective to quiet things down by glossing over comments one finds unreasonable and just moving on.

YES PLEASE!!!

It has been such a long time for LMH to do a drama, his last drama before enlisting has to be a big one, and with JJH (maybe) it would be the perfect combination.

I am So happy to hear thia news. I miss Lee Min Ho so much. And I am more happy coz the writer is a good one. :))))
Why would the drama be pre-produced?
Is it gonna be like "Descendant of the Sun", which required filming in specific areas??
I am so curious about this drama. Everything :)))

I arrive a bit late but it might be better this way, no more fan girl flying around !

As I can see in the comment section, for this role, we need an actor who can act, who is old enough, who is famous in China. Park Hae Jin anyone ?

Who is hotter than Park Hae Jin right now ? He is on the same wave length as Jeon Ji Hyun. They were together in YFAS, he is perfect for this !

Ok now I shall flee before getting attacked by LMH's fans. 8D
