Drama Hangout: My Little Baby

Now comes a Drama Hangout for My Little Baby, a show which is a good few weeks into its run but still has quite a few left to go. Starring Oh Ji-ho and his baffled expression as a cop who suddenly finds himself saddled with a baby (it’s not said whether or not it’s his baby) and Lee Soo-kyung as a single mom willing to help shoulder the burden, the show looks like cute, heartwarming fun.

Though, if you haven’t heard much about My Little Baby, that’s likely because it’s been doing a very solid job flying under the radar, helped in no small part by the late-night, once-a-week timeslot given to it by MBC. Needless to say, it’s been hovering around the 1-2% mark, though I’m not familiar enough with the timeslot to know if those numbers are normal.

As is usual with the cruel mistress that is Time, we missed the boat for this one, but that doesn’t mean you guys have to! Y’all know the drill when it comes to Drama Hangouts by now, so have at it. And, most of all, have fun!

They just loaded 6 episodes onto Viki! Hopefully they'll have subs in a couple of days (episode 1 is currently @ 16%).

Yay! I watched the raw version of five episodes (and I don't speak Korean), and it seems cute. However, the romance appears to play second fiddle to the comic face-offs between Oh Ji-ho and the mommies. The music seems a bit Flinstone-esq, and the humor a bit slapsticky. Oh Ji-ho's character seems to be billed a the typical clueless macho guy, so I was a bit disappointed that the story is played more as a comedy rather than a romance.

However, the chance meetings between Lee Soo-kyung and Oh Ji-ho are very cute. I am hoping that the plot will kick into gear, and the romance will heat up, soon. I am probably missing lots of things due to the lack of subs, so hooray for it showing up on Viki!

Yes, Viki got a late license for this one and we got 8 episodes all at once! They are 40 minutes long each, but it has been raining licenses on Viki lately, so the subbers are hard-pressed right now. Still, they are on it! Also waiting for the subs. ^^

I have heard that Oh Ji Ho is surprising in this show, compared to Cheo Yong. I am so impatient!

Viki really p.o.'d with their slowness in subbing 'The Merchant' recently.

Absolutely...the last 2 episodes of The Merchant are being subbed at a snail's pace or worse....WTH!

"flying under the radar" indeed, it's not even listed in the Dramabeans "currently airing" on the same page as this article :)

Yeah, that's why I thought it was a web drama when I first saw it.

How about a drama hangout for Ms Temper and Nam Jung-ki? Seems like a fun drama and it's doing well in the ratings department as well. Plus it's LYW's comeback drama too.

I am still waiting for viki to sub this, but I've bookmarked it to watch once the subsvare complete.

Speaking of which, is it possible to have a quick links or bookmarks to the various drama hang out threads? They tend to get buried when new articles come out so when we try to find these hang outs a few weeks down the line after catching up with these dramas, they are hard to find.

For Oh Ji-ho fans, recommend watching the ep of Happy Together" w/ Kang Yewon, Tony Hong & Kim Minkyo.

All 4 guests appear as people w/ "connections" - one of the funniest HT eps ever.

OJH is good buds w/ Kim Sung-soo, Han Jung-soo, Song Jong-ho, etc.; when they get together, a lot of eye-candy for the ladies.

Actually this show is doing well with ratings of 3.3% despite of really night airing time.
I find the show absurd, stupid, funny and cute. I rolled my eyes sometimes because everyone looks dumb, and annoying ajummas, but Oh Ji-ho is so dorky with crush on Ye-seol/Lee Soo-young character who is just so frustratingly naive.
