Talk rules the day in crisis negotiation thriller Pied Piper

Pretty! Police-negotiation thriller Pied Piper is gearing up for its big premiere (it follows Cheese in the Trap on tvN, not that I’m ready for that to be over yet), and here’s a whole slew of stills and behind-the-scenes shots from the show. I knew to expect strong cinematography and vivid visuals from the Liar Game PD, and these don’t disappoint, featuring the show’s three sharp-looking leads.
Shin Ha-kyun is the police negotiator who appears to be overflowing with both skill and a healthy ego about that skill. He wears a cocky smirk on his face in many of the show’s promos, and his character poster above bears the line “The people I can’t persuade — not even God could persuade them.” Quite sure of yourself, aren’t you? Why do I feel like that’s him trying to be modest, by putting himself on God’s level rather than above it?
In the main poster below featuring Shin along with his costars Yoo Joon-sang and Jo Yoon-hee, the copy reads, “In a worst-case scenario, what we need isn’t force but dialogue.” And Jo Yoon-hee’s solo character poster reads, “We must listen carefully to the truth.”
Jo Yoon-hee is another police negotiator who may not be quite as skilled in smooth talking as her genius colleague, but has the ability to understand other people’s feelings and communicate with sincerity. Yoo Joon-sang plays a national news anchor, whose public image as being “an icon of trust” is in ironic contrast to his actual personality, which only cares about ratings and believes that people prefer news that’s provocative rather than a truth with no power. Are those my only two options?
In any case, the show looks sharp and Shin and Yoo in particular are standouts, so let’s hope the drama showcases the same taut suspense that drove Liar Game, which managed to fill mathematical calculations and roundtable discussions with nail-biting tension. Let’s see what happens when actual lives are on the line. Pied Piper premieres on Monday, March 7.

With that kind of line, I really hope the dialog is really good. Because it's one thing to say someone is good but a whole different matter to show it. Of course if this is meant to be a serious drama instead of making it a comedy.

Signal is 1000 times better for me than CITT.
This duo pd writer of liar game is always full of surprise and strategy, can't wait to watch...

Ditto on Signal being waaaay better. CITT is so unspectacular, I can't even. It was initially very watchable but now it has gotten to the point of being a snoozefest vs Signal which is just breaktakingly suspenseful.

Well I think people have different view and genre choice.
Signal was suspenseful, the kind of show which make us sit on the edge of our seat with every minute of it.
But CITT was more of like a daily, slice of life drama which tells a realistic story which you can relate to your life.
So I wouldn't called it boring, maybe for some people, it's just not the kind of drama they're rooting for.
Not all people love a drama which requires so much thinking as well.
I guess different taste of drama for different people, right? :)

Sure. I'm not saying everyone needs to love the same drama. Slice of life can be contemplative and eye opening while also comfortable and engaging. CITT is none of that for me. It's simply boring and repetitive. That's not an opinion I expect everyone to share but that hardly means I'm not "rooting for that kind of drama". It simply means CITT is not successful in making me root for it.
As for not enjoying drama where you have to think a lot, I'm sorry but Signal is that just as much as CITT is so... I'm honestly not into thinking if the main lead is a Sociopath or a poor-weetle-misunderstood guy. Every episode contemplating about the same topic? Nah, not my thing.
But that's just it. We all have our preferences and I simply agreed with the person above me that Signal is waaaaaay better. No one is expected to feel the same of course.

Everyone has different taste, so please respect it, and please read the comments carefully, i don't say CITT is a bad drama, it's just NOT as GOOD as Signal.
Just like what @Mandy said before, CITT WAS INITIALLY very watchable but now,.. not anymore.
and for me (don't take it seriously, it's just my personal preference), i've been watching K/J/T-Drama for half of my age, so if a drama too predictable, too repetitive, too meh, too pointless, i can't keep myself to watch it. Just because everyone praises it, and loves it, it doesn't mean it's the best drama, okay ^_^
*aigoo... why do we have to talk about CITT and SIGNAL in this post when the title is about PIED PIPER,.. kekekeke :D

This cast is awesome but I'm not into the premise for some reason. Will catch the reviews before I dive in but so many *possibly* good dramas on the horizon.

I love Shin Ha-kyun to pieces but this Jo Yoon-hee is so one note, uninspired actress that would put me to sleep faster than any sleeping pills out there (shoot me).

Excited for this! But... the main guy... I'm not liking his character very much.

I'm still disappointed Jo Seungwoo didn't take this project. Just imagine him with PD of Liar Game combo, it would be perfect!
It will be a talky talk drama so we need a strong plot to make it exciting to be watched, Liar Game PD have that capability tho.

Well, CITT and signal obviously different genre drama then they can't compare it each other.
However this year, the line up of Tvn dramas are really impressive. I'm waiting human drama "Memory".

tvN is ruling the drama world right now, so i'm hoping the quality is as good as Signal. well, given the Liar Game PD and solid casts i'm hoping intense and suspenseful story that get me on the edge every week (it feels like torture, yes i know).
now, prepares some oxygen tanks beanies.

Why does the actress have the same blank/lost look on her face in almost all the stills? I hope she can act/convey emotions better than that 'cause I am looking forward to this drama. *fingers crossed*

Same here...I'm a fan for crime/police/thriller...loving Signal so much , lately quite many police dramas for eg Mrs Cop 2 is out as well....but due to my busy schedule I think I would choose Pied Piper rather than Mrs Cop 2 (they changed the entire cast) since I'm also chasing after Descendants of the Sun....ommo.....where do I find more time?
