Lee Yuri

• An offer is out to Lee Yuri (Superdaddy Yeol, Jang Bori Is Here) to lead KBS’s upcoming daily drama, Rose of Betrayal, which will air in the first half of 2016 and take the place of the currently airing It’ll All Be Alright. [Joy News 24]
• Count Krystal (She’s So Lovable) among those being wooed by China. She’s been cast in Graduation Season, her first Chinese drama, and she recently attended a press conference for the show in Wenzhou. Krystal also begins filming Chinese-Korean movie Biyeon in China next January with EXO’s Lay (both are managed by SM Entertainment). [TV Report]


Krystal, Park So-dam

• Current It Girl Park So-dam was picked out of 600 auditioners to bring the vampire lead Eli to life in the play Let Me In (or Let the Right One In). Based on the bestselling Swedish novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist, the story was remade into a Swedish movie in 2008, an American film in 2010, and was first adapted for the stage in 2013. This will be the play’s first appearance in Asia, and Joo Jin-mo (Cheo-yong 2, Mask) has also been cast. Let Me In will run from January 21 to February 28 at CJ Towol Theater. Tickets will be offered for sale beginning January 3, 2016. [Herald]
• The premiere of MBC’s Flower in Prison may be pushed back a couple of months. A source for the show has cited internal delays as the reason, and indicated that another 20-episode drama may follow My Daughter Geum Sa-wol in March instead. Go Soo and Jin Se-yeon weren’t slated to begin filming until February, so it’s possible that whatever may be causing production to stall will clear up by then. [Joongang]


Yoo Da-in, Kwon Yul

• Call me confused this week: Kwon Yul (Let’s Eat 2) and Yoo Da-in (Plus Nine Boys) are confirmed for Jang Nara and Jung Kyung-ho’s One More Happy Ending. I *think* this means that Oh Chang-seok (Twinkle Twinkle My Heart) turned down the drama, because he was being courted for the same role that Kwon Yul was confirmed for less than an hour later: a doctor and close college buddy of Jung’s. At least there’s one spot of clarity: Yoo Inna has confirmed she’s joining the show. One More Happy Ending follows Sweet Savage Family in January on MBC. [Joongang 1, 2, Osen]


Jin Kyung, Choi Moo-sung

• Hmm, maybe Yoo Oh-sung isn’t playing Kim Woo-bin’s father in Lightly, Ardently, after all. The show has added a trio of supporting cast members and has released updated character information: Jin Kyung (Oh My Venus), Jung Sun-kyung (Pretty Man), and Choi Moo-sung (Answer Me 1988) are all confirmed for KBS’s upcoming show. Yoo’s a hotshot prosecutor who was born the second child in a destitute household. By all appearances, he seems like a righteous man, but he can be swayed to compromise. Jung is his wife, a chaebol heiress. Jin is Kim Woo-bin’s mom, and she owns a neighborhood restaurant. She hoped her son would become a public prosecutor, but when he decided to pursue a career in entertainment, she disowned him. Choi’s a man who’s known Jin since they were little kids growing up in the same neighborhood. They run the restaurant together and he’s like an oppa to her, although he’s secretly harbored a love for her since childhood. The show will air on Wednesdays and Thursdays in 2016. [Sports Chosun]
• I’m not sure how Kim Min-young (Sunny) has been cast as Kim Woo-bin and Suzy’s good friend of ten years in Lightly, Ardently when the two leads were ripped apart in their youth (wouldn’t the close mutual friend have been able to bring them back together?), but we’ll either get a revised character description or learn more when the show airs. [Busan Today]
