Park Sung-woong joins Yoo Seung-ho in SBS’s legal thriller Remember

Well, if I know anything about dramaland, it’s that Park Sung-woong (Hidden Identity) makes everything better. He’s the latest addition to SBS’s new legal thriller drama Remember, the one that’s courting Yoo Seung-ho to headline. Between these two, there’s just going to be a whole lot of smoldering going on in this drama.

The new Wednesday-Thursday series comes from award-winning writer Yoon Hyun-ho of the film The Attorney and PD Lee Chang-min of Birth of a Beauty (and second PD on Midas and Giant). It tells the story of a lawyer with hyperthymesia, a condition characterized by excessively detailed memory. Yoo Seung-ho is up for the lead role, a genius lawyer who learns to use his hyper-memory abilities to his advantage, despite their usually debilitating nature.

His father gets framed in a conspiracy plot and sentenced to death, so Yoo Seung-ho becomes a lawyer in order to clear Dad’s name. As he sets out to work the case, he’ll not only be racing against the clock to beat the death sentence, but also his own fading memory, the reasons for which aren’t clear yet. The drama will be about his race to prove Dad’s innocence before he loses all of his memories.

Park Sung-woong will play a lawyer as well — a man with a thick Kyungsangdo accent who became a lawyer for loan shark mobsters in order to escape a life of extreme poverty. But he rises above that life and becomes a lawyer at a law firm that saves people’s lives. He’s a dogged, resourceful character who always accomplishes what he sets out to do, and is a weed-like survivor with animal instincts.

The two characters will meet while working Dad’s case, and will both get swept up in the larger conspiracy at play. Park Sung-woong also carries a secret that Yoo Seung-ho doesn’t know, which will greatly affect how the two handle the case, causing tension and friction at every turn. It sounds like a tense plot with fleshed-out characters, each with their own conflicting backstories and motivations. And in the hands of two very capable, charismatic actors, I’ll probably be glued to my screen.

Remember follows Village: Secret of Achiara in December.

Nobody thought that, it was dropped because of disagreements between the production company and SBS. I haven't seen any ljs fan thinking that either, but why even bring him up in an article that isn't about him? lol

lol what are you talking about? The only thing they have said is that LJS and YSH names were rumored for the drama, and it turned out to be YSH. If you have seen one person do that, it doesn't mean you should go around saying stuff like that about other people. Plus it looks like you obviously don't even care about the drama so why are you here talking about completely unrelated people?

The hyperthymesia part actually sounds really interesting, even made me search it up. It sounds like a very male centric drama though, as we have yet to even hear about a female lead. But it's Park Sung Woong and Yoo Seung Ho so far, and combined with the premise i'm most likely tuning in.

Ooof, this drama sounds so good! I hope both of them sign on, they would be truly badass. Even though the drama does sound male-centric, i do hope we get a good female lead. I am ok with no romance, but having that tension there would be nice. I know everyone is gonna compare it to Punch, and if it's half as good, I will happily watch.

The premise bears very little resemblance to Punch. If anything it sounds more like New Leaf because of the amnesia part.
Anyhow, I'm excited for some lawyering from YSH and PSW.

As much as I love Yoo Seung Ho, he's too young to be a lawyer. That's, of course, not a big deal since it's nothing new. I'm sure he can be convincing, right?

And Sexy Ajussi all the way!

I felt that way at first, too. But both of us were wrong. It is said that he is a "genius lawyer", so I suppose this can be translated as "he became a laywer at very young age".

I graduated from Law School when I was 24 y.o and did my pupillage (training to become a lawyer) for 9 months and officially became a lawyer when I was 25 y.o. Of course i am not genius lol :D I am not sure how in Korea, but in my country, provided we can complete our law school in 4-5 years, we can become a lawyer at the age of 24 or 25.

Anyway, looking forward to this drama. I am curious how their take on " genius lawyer with hyper-memory abilities" and with Park Sung-woong and Yoo Seung-ho here, I hope the storyline is good.

Err, what I meant in my first para is that I dont mind with Yoo Seung-ho as a lawyer here, even his actual age is 22 y.o. As someone mentioned above, he can be a young genius lawyer. :D

I'm glad Park Sung-woong is getting cast a lot, and the premise sounds alright. But I didn't know his character is suppose to have a Kyungsangdo accent! Nooooooo!!

Why are they casting Park Sung-woong if the character requires a Kyungsangdo accent? He's from Chungju, and I saw For the Emperor... He looks mighty fine but seriously, accents aren't his forte. I'm torn.

Thank god its Yoo Seungho! Everything about this drama excites me. If it was LJS I would have to avoid this like the plague.

Park Sung Woo is a great actor. I love him since King of Bakery even he just got a small role there. But his role is important and such a loyal character.
And his character in Hidden Indentity is my favorite, even more than Kim bum's character.
I will watch this for Park Sung Woo, and then second for Yoo Seung Ho, i love this kid too.
Yoo Seung Hoo, Lee Hyun Wo, Ji Soo and Park Bo Gum, 4 young actor who become my favorite.
And they all born in 1993, fun coincidence. They all cute and talented.

Seconded! I'm thrilled about the pairing, and sincerely hoping so badly that Park Sungwoong's going to become a father figure to Yoo Seungho's character ;w;

SBS lines 2 thrillers one after another, I hope it will not have the same fate as The Village which has the lowest ratings actually.

Park Sung-woong is one busy actor (3 movies and 2 dramas in just 1 year). I guess it's worth checking this drama out for him and the writer.

Yoo Seung How is the same. He have 2 movies (Joseon Magician and Kim Seun Dal) and 2 dramas (Imaginary Cat and Remember) in just 1 year. And on top of that he is the main lead and titular role (or center character) in all 4 projects.

Hmm I actually like that he has a 'fading memory' better than him just having amnesia. Maybe it is the side effect of his condition. That in due time some of his memories will slowly fades away because his mind can't handle all the information coming in etc. with his hyperthymesia. And that is why he is in a race to prove his dad's innocence aside from saving him from death penalty too.

I like it that it seems that PSW character will be like a father figure and also serves as YSH's guidance. He needed this types of characters (PSW character) on his side. I hope the script writer is awesome. Praying the script to be well written for YSH's sake!!! Remember Fighting!!!
