Name That Drama: Hair grabbing and jealous sisters
by javabeans
It’s a bunch of short questions for this installment of Name That Drama. As always, feel free to email us your questions and requests for future Name That Drama installments.
- Man with a son-brother:
Hi, I’m looking for this drama that I watched not too long ago. I only remember this one scene, where the main character (an adult) is shown in his teenage years to have had a child. He kneeled in front of his parents and cried to them, and they yelled at him. His father then said that the baby would be raised as his sibling. I know this is not Wonderful Days, because it was one child, not twins. Please help me and thank you!
- Tale of two sisters
Name this drama pleaseeee. I dont know when I watched this drama but it was about two sisters. The elder sister got a baby but she didn’t want to take of it, so the younger sister took care of the baby. The sister was also very jealous of her younger sister. She always tried to seduce any man that likes her sister. Once the younger sister worked at a factory, she brings along the baby. The manager falls in love with her, then the elder sister tried to seduce him but she failed.
- Boss-employee and slob-neat freak
I would really like to find a drama. It’s a little bit old, I remember just reading the story and I really liked it but I forgot the name aigoo. The story is about a girl working somewhere, and she and her boss end up living together under the same roof. She is so messy and clumsy while he likes his place to be clean and organized. Hope you would help me with it, thank you so much.
- LA riots
There’s a drama I watched with my parents many, many years ago (so long ago that it was on VHS tapes). I don’t remember much, but it was about a family who lived in the LA area and had their business destroyed in the LA riots. I hope it wasn’t just a figment of my imagination and that I really did watch this.
Thanks!
- Not Yong-pal
I forgot the name of a drama I watched a while ago. It’s about a boy who finds a girl in a hospital who’s been in a coma for years. He visits her every day and she wakes up for a day (?) Or a year… (?) And the boy makes all her wishes come true and she ends up marrying him. However, she ends up back in a coma. He stays by her side in their home until they grew old and she passes away.
- Pudding race
Hi! I’ve been trying to find this drama that I watched about 8 years ago. I’m pretty sure the main character is at school and all the students run to get pudding so he decided to basically jump slow-mo across the school buildings to get the pudding first. He gets it, and he and his friend start yelling “water” for some reason. Thank you for the help!
- Ero library romance
I watched an erotic film around 4 years ago, but I’m not sure when it was released. In the film, the leads never revealed their name and only called each other Yeoja and Namja. They meet randomly in a library I think, and have an affair and separate.
Please help me find out. I know it’s a film, and erotic on top of it, but I would really like to know the actor who played that. He was really cute.
- Girl fight
This was shown maybe 4 or 5 years back. I’m not too sure. Anyways, this girl was talking to another snobbish girl with both their moms there. The girl (or her mom) said that the snobbish girl looked like her mom, just as pretty. The snobbish girl was smug for a second, until the other mom added that it’s probably because they went to the same plastic surgeon.
Then I think a hair grabbing fight broke out…? Thanks!
- Mistaken killer identity
I need help trying remember this drama. The main guy thinks that the main girl’s dad killed his father but it was actually his uncle that killed his dad and not the girl’s dad.
Thanks for playing, everyone — till next time!

Me too, though I think that set-up has been done a lot in Korean dramas. Either way, I definitely recommend Hotaru no Hikari. There's also a sequel.

Yes it sounds a lot like Hotaru no Hikari.
That's the first drama I've recognized.
There tends to be a lot of forced habitation in K-drama, and usually the guy is the neatnik and the woman is the slob.
I can't think of a k-drama boss employee example right now.

Thank you for recommending Hotaru no Hikari. I love it and have finished series 1 & 2. Going to watch the movie next. yahoooo!! Simply special!!! I just read that the manga author released Hotari no Hikari SP in 2014 which follows up with the marriage life of Hotaru & Seiichi Takano.. Is there any hope the OTP will do another sequel?? * crosses my fingers *

The Taiwanese drama Just You with Aaron Yan also follows the same premise - messy employee living with the neat-freak boss. Although the employee was living there first.
But can't think of a Korean drama like that.

3. sounds like Hotaru no Hikari which is a J-dorama
Hotaru works for a famous interior design company. It's a glamorous job but Hotaru's private life is totally the opposite of glamorous. She lives alone, and when she isn't working she's mostly lazing about her rented house in training wear. She's not interested in men. In fact, she isn't interested in anything. "I'd rather lay around than fool around," is her motto.
Her landlord is a bar owner, and one day his son, who has just separated from his wife, comes to inspect the rental property, not knowing that someone is living there. He is shocked at the mess, but not as shocked as Hotaru. He turns out to be her boss, Takano.

#3 is definitely Hotaru no hikari which is awesome!
There's 2 seasons and a movie to binge on.
Maybe I should watch it for the umpteenth time.
But Hotaru is like me, I'm 100% a himono onna (dried fish woman) she's awesome I'm even sitting in my sweatpants with my hair up!
and #6, my boss my hero with the very fine Nagase Tomoya, Kashii Yu and Aragaki Yui which was based on a korean film but the jdorama version is much more lighthearted.
#7 does sounds like Frozen flower

I thought about Just You (Taiwanese) when I read about the 3rd one but after reading the comments, it might also be Hotaru no Hikari (Japanese) but then again the plot is pretty common. If you want something light and funny, try HnH but if want a frustrating loooong drama, try Just You lol
7th: Haven't watched Frozen Flower but I know it is an erotic film (about an affair) and has a cute leading man (Jo In Sung pls)!

Also listed as "The Intimate." I had to double check because I didn't recall a library - maybe so - but they are only referred to as woman and man at AsianWiki, so it is probably correct.

I watched a drama wherein a mother and daughter and perhaps a friend had gone on a vacation trip or conference to a tropical island, Mali, Hawaii (maybe). During the vacation the mother ran into her ex-husband or lover but the daughter's father nonetheless. The recurring song in the movie or series was Why Do I Love You So? Does anybody know the name of the drama?

Hello, I an aware that nobody comments on this anymore, but I think I know numbers 1 and 2.
No. 1: It may be a film from 2008 called "Baby and I" starring Jang Geun Suk.
No. 2: I think it's the drama, 'Country Princess' which ran in 2003. Doona Bae played the main female character who is a young single mother who works at a factory. She had an older sister who was the most favored by their mother because she was studious and did not get into trouble. I don't remeber the drama well, but I think the twins (Doona Bae's character did not have just one child) were not in fact hers, according to the information I read in the drama's website ("one day she came home with two children..." - I do not think you can just come home with babies when you are in high school).
And she falls in love with the factory's director, despite the older sister's attempts to woo him.
